RHEMA 10/25/12  A NEW CANDLESTICK FOR THOSE SITTING IN DARKNESS

HEARD:  I don’t know what to say.  It’s a vacuum.   

PIX:  I saw a candle in a little tin.

HEARD: What it’s like to have only one candle.

PARABLE:  On 10/21/12 I heard the Lord say, “A difficult night.” 

A couple hours later we had a power outage.  It was an unusual one.  Usually during a power outage, there is wind, or rain, or some kind of a power surge and then a fizzle type loss until all goes quiet. In other words, there is warning. This was so sudden, I felt the impact of some kind of a whack, and the fire alarm made a loud sound and then went dead.  The house felt like a vacuum had sucked the air out of it.  It was all very momentary and everything was dark. 

I got up and got the flashlight and prayed.  As I wondering if this was “it” where the power grid had been taken out, I looked out over the city and I saw no light.  This alarmed me until I looked out over to the next city and I saw a dull haze in the clouds over it.  I did not know if that was the moon or the city lights.  I decided it was the city lights.  By then I was wide awake and prayed for a long time until I fell back asleep and then the power came on which woke me up again.  I finally fell back asleep and woke to the phone saying that a family member had been admitted to the hospital in the middle of the night with a heart rate of 32.  I was so grateful I had prayed over them that night! 

UPDATE 10/29/12:  Hurricane Sandy came through the east coast a few days later and 8.6 million people were without electricity and in the dark.  I remembered our night without power and how totally DARK it was and how they must be feeling to be in the dark.  We have been praying over so many details for these miserable people. 

One of the most important prayers is that the Lord draw their hearts to pray and call out to HIM. The light needed is much more than a simple candle on a coffee table.

Isa 60:1-5 AMP

ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you — rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! [Zech 8:23.]

2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you. [Isa 60:19-22; Mal 4:2; Rev 21:2,3.]

3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. [Isa 2:2,3; Jer 3:17.]

4 Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms.

5 Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy [at the glorious deliverance] and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the [Dead] Sea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures. [Ps 119:32.]

UPDATE AH 11/02/12:  Today I turned to the following Word to Ponder with anointed hands.  It is interesting to me because all last month this scripture was so strongly quickened to me.  It came to me many times.  As I read this Word this morning, I suddenly remembered that this was the Word the Lord gave me right before hurricane Katrina hit! 

LET GO AND MOVE OUT  8/27/05

Many of My own have been stuck within the confines of dwindling resources with limited freedom to change difficult circumstances.  They have been waiting to be rescued.  The remote places in which they find themselves, is causing them to be cut off from the help they need.  There is a window of time, a window of escape opened to find greater expanse, freedom and promotion, but they have to be willing to move to be delivered from the tight and narrow place.

Be willing to let go of the comfort zone and move. Change positions, change locations, change mind-sets.  Find your courage and desperation to be willing to move out of the cave dwellings and move through the obstacles in order to find the help that you need for a greater future and greater provision.  Natural and spiritual help is coming towards you, but you have to change positions to be in the right place to receive.

2 Kings 7:3-4 NLT

Now there were four men with leprosy sitting at the entrance of the city gates. "Why should we sit here waiting to die?" they asked each other.  "We will starve if we stay here, and we will starve if we go back into the city. So we might as well go out and surrender to the Aramean army. If they let us live, so much the better. But if they kill us, we would have died anyway."

RHEMA 10/27/12  A NEW CANDLESTICK IS COMING

HEARD:  The winds of change coming.  Violent.  Sweeping through the land.  Swiftly remove.  The old agendas.  A new candlestick is coming. To see things differently.  A new lens. 

(Hurricane Sandy is on its way.)

PRAYER:  Lord there are many people who are and will be suffering circumstances of dwindling supplies and we ask that You give them courage to move out and away from their security to go get help in Jesus Name.  They need many provisions Lord to make it through this difficult time. 

Help those who cling to their old ways to be willing to let go and change, especially making a move towards You, in Jesus Name.  We call for the Living Light of the gospel of Jesus Christ to be sent to help them rebuild with the hope of Jesus Christ at their helm.  Let them view life with You in the center of their pictures Lord.  Bring forth Your new candlestick to the east coast and to our nation in Jesus Name.  Bring forth new light into our nation oh Lord!  Dispel the darkness and let righteousness reign.
