QUICKENED SCRIPTURE: APPETITES
AFFECT OUR HEARING
Matt
14:20-21 NKJV
So
they all ate and were filled, and they took
up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.
I read a few years ago that our
level of thirst depends on how much we drink. We can
actually have a very low level of thirst and it is
because we do not drink very much. It is also true that
the less we eat, our appetite accommodates and becomes
less hungry.
Throughout the years of my habits
with the Lord, I seem to eat until I am full. And then
when I am hungry I start seeking and searching Him for
more food. The more I seek Him, the more my appetite
for spiritual things grows and the closer I become to
Him in the process.
Matt
7:7-8
"Ask,
and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who
asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who
knocks it will be opened.
If you notice that the above
verse is completely depended upon OUR ACTIONS: Ask,
seek, knock. When I think of a baby who is being held,
if she is not hungry, she is content to lay in the
arms. But if she is hungry she will turn her head and
start "rooting" or searching for mother's milk. |
