BIRD PARABLES

THE BIRD PARABLE
Early this morning around 6: AM I was looking out the
window and the 2 mated birds that nested in Mom's
birdhouse the last few years were back again for the
season. I watched them swirl and twirl and dive in and
around their home as though they hadn't a care in the
world. I said to the Lord, “Lord they aren't worried and
You take care of them.”
As I was water my plants later, and pondering these
birds, Wayne came in and said, “Remember that God takes
care of the birds.” In the process of watering the
plants, I accidentally bumped our little wooden bird
that is standing among the plants. It tipped over. I
said out loud, “No bird, you will stand and you shall
not fall!”
HEARD: Pure. A bird faith leaves everything up to his
Master.
"So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life--whether
you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn't life
consist of more than food and clothing? Look at the
birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food
in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And
you are far more valuable to him than they are.” (Matt
6:25-26 NLT)

FEEDING THE BIRDS PARABLE

FEEDING THE BIRDS PARABLE
I received a belated BD gift. It was a bird feeder! No
birds came and so I started praying that the Lord would
bring the birds. This morning there were 5 beautiful
birds feeding at our feeder. They have given me much joy
and they are a reminder of how God feels about nurturing
and taking care of us.
In an amazing series of events, all of a sudden people
have been sending us donations and the labels, stamps or
stationary on their letters are birds! The Lord has been
telling me I am feeding the birds in their season of
winter of hard, cold times.
HEARD: You have been given the responsibility to feed
the birds. I'm looking for character. Her warehouse
spirit.
VISION: I saw a mother bird. She was feeding the other
birds one seed at a time.
[INTERP: Part of my calling has to do with collecting
the Words to the Lord and storing them into a huge
warehouse, just like Joseph collected grain in the
warehouses. I have had several visions in my past about
this warehouse I was supposed to fill. In the mid 80's
when I was collecting Words in my journal, I had just
written one and saw a vision of me on top of this huge
warehouse. It had a slot in the top just like a piggy
bank. I dropped the piece of paper that had the Word on
it and watched it float like a feather down to the
bottom. What a giant warehouse bank that was!]
WORD TO PONDER: FEEDING MY BIRDS
I am calling you to help restore My people. I shall call
you to bring forth out the supplies of many years, and
you shall feed many who come to your door. This shall be
a place of wonderful banqueting food preserved for those
who are in need. It will be like feeding the birds in
winter, where food is scarce, but the nest I am building
will hold many. So, rejoice as you see them come and
sup.
“"My lover said to me, `Rise up, my beloved, my fair
one, and come away. For the winter is past, and the rain
is over and gone. The flowers are springing up, and the
time of singing birds has come, even the cooing of
turtledoves. The fig trees are budding, and the
grapevines are in blossom. How delicious they smell!
Yes, spring is here! Arise, my beloved, my fair one, and
come away.'” (Song 2:10-13 NLT)

FEATHERS CONFIRMATION

FEATHERS CONFIRMATION
This was from a reader who sent me her fun confirmation.
“…Last Christmas, I was writing out cards for family and
friends. As I did each one, I wrote the blessing I felt
the Lord give me, each one was different. When I came to
my niece's family, I felt the Lord say to write, "May He
cover you with His feathers." This seemed odd to me, not
fitting at all, but I wrote it anyway.
At our Christmas party, oddly enough, there were 7
birdhouses in the gift giving... My niece's family ended
up with ALL of them! It was so funny! What a great
confirmation the Lord gave me. I knew the Lord was
indeed covering them with His feathers!...”
[Note from Sandy: Her comments reminded me of a vision I
had in the past]:
VISION: I was putting a roof on an eagle. It was shaped
like a pointed A frame roof, and was supposed to be a
roof, only instead of shingles overlapping, the roof was
made of overlapping feathers.
HEARD: This shall fit nicely.

DOUBLE TAKE

DOUBLE TAKE
EXPERIENCE: I went to bed very weary about every area in
my life. I prayed, “Lord not one sparrow falls to the
ground without You noticing. I need Your attention
really bad.” In my mind I was humorously thinking of a
sparrow taking a dive bomb and falling in a splat. Then
I kiddingly said, “Lord could we try that one more
time?”
VISION: I saw a big giant hand reach out and catch a
little tiny bird as it was falling in the sky.
I saw the following in a series of pictures, kind of
like a slide show.
VISIONS: I saw dust being blown off the bird, then its
feathers were being smoothed. The scene changed and I
saw the bird eating grain in the hand, then there was
water in the hand and it took a bird bath in the hand.
Then I saw the bird take its head and rub it against the
hand in a love nudge.
Matt 10:29-31 NLT
Not even a sparrow, worth only half a penny, can fall to
the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very
hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid;
you are more valuable to him than a whole flock of
sparrows.

I WILL RAIN UPON YOUR HEAD

I WILL RAIN UPON YOUR HEAD
I was thinking about feeding the birds while I was
watering my plants. As I rearranged the plants, I moved
a ceramic lady who is quietly reading a book among the
birds. I was thinking it was a parable of me and feeding
the birds with my book. I filled my water pitcher and
poured water into the plant above it very carefully so
as not to spill it on our carpet, because water stains
it. Somehow a leaf was in the way while I was pouring,
and I did not see it until too late and a portion of the
water poured all over the lady's head!! The way the
water separated and fell, it looked like it was raining
upon her. I was quite tickled at the parable.
CONFIRMATION: As I finished typing this, I stopped and
looked out the window. I saw 2 birds twirling in the air
and then comfortably landing upon the peak of the roof.
Joel 2:26 NKJV
And He will cause the rain to come down for you - The
former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. The
threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats
shall overflow with new wine and oil. "So I will restore
to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The
crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing
locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall
eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of
the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.

BE GENTLE WITH THE BIRDS

BE GENTLE WITH THE BIRDS
A friend sent me a vision and interpretation:
I saw a bird, and it flew back a bit to a tree where it
felt safe and continued talking, though more relaxed. I
listened, could not understand, and asked the Lord to
tell what the bird was saying to me. Then I saw me
holding a small bird in my hands. It was not afraid. It
wanted to be with me and it knew, that it was safe
there. I, too, knew how fragile it was and that I had
the ability to crush the bird with my hands. I just sat
there with this knowledge and quite content to leave my
hands open so it could fly away and return as it
desired.
INTERPRETATION:
Careful………….
If I close my hands around the bird, I could hurt it. I
must be careful to let it remain free.
The bird comes and goes as it pleases. I must be careful
to not place my eyes on the bird, but on the Lord who
made the bird and caused it to fly to me.
As I walk, I must be careful to not stumble and in doing
so hurt the bird or fall onto the bird and crush it.
The bird is not mine; it is the Lord's. I must be
careful to remember that.
I must listen carefully to what the bird says, but the
understanding of it comes from the Lord's revelation to
me.
SANDY COMMENTS: I am reminded of a couple poems we had
on our fridge for years. “If you love something, you
will set it free. If it comes back to you, it was meant
to be.” The other one was in my Dad's office for years.
“There are 2 lasting gifts we can give our children. One
is roots the other is wings.”
As I am pondering about birds, I remember they are
"flighty." If you chase them, they fly away. If your
heart is still before them, they feel safe enough to
land and sing their songs and even chipper when they are
fed.
WORD TO PONDER: LOVING WITHOUT GRASPING
Learn to love by letting go. There is a yearning of the
soul that desires to possess that which does not belong
to you. My love does not covet, it sets free. Give those
that you love into My care. Yes, you have heard that you
give roots and wings to your loved ones. Grant them the
stability of knowing you are there for them and then
release them one step at a time to learn to crawl, walk,
run and then fly into their destinies in Me.
Remember that birds are flighty. If you chase a bird it
will fly away. As you yearn with My Spirit over those
you care for, keep the palm of your hand open and like a
bird in flight, let them freely come and go in your life
as they will. Remain in loving watch care over their
lives and provide an open palm of a warm safe shelter
for their hearts. Stay faithful and you will always have
friends no matter what age.
Phil 2:3-8 NLT
Don't be selfish; don't live to make a good impression
on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than
yourself. Don't think only about your own affairs, but
be interested in others, too, and what they are doing.
Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had.
Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his
rights as God. He made himself nothing; he took the
humble position of a slave and appeared in human form.

FAITHFUL PARENTS

FAITHFUL PARENTS
WORD TO PONDER 1998: SEASONS
Observe My creation unfolding its seasons. Feel the
anticipation, as the bulbs emerge from their tomb. Sense
the expectancy, as fresh buds sprout upon trees. Observe
the vibrancy, as grass suddenly bursts with growth. Feel
the hope, as winter dissolves and spring breaks forth.
And know that I AM God.
Observe the birds. See the faithfulness of those who sit
upon a nest and wait. As the young emerge from their
shells, their survival instinct commands them to pester
until they are satisfied. And they are fed by tireless
parents. See the parents swoop, as the babies take their
first flight and know that I AM God.
All of life comes forth in its season. All growth on
earth and in heaven issues from ordained timing. Each
season gives birth to another, and then another. Each
season has its purpose and each purpose has its plan.
Understand the seasons and know that I AM God.
Know that all that happens in your life is as timely and
ordained as the seasons. As the blossoms appear on the
trees, so that which appears barren in your life will
spring forth.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every
purpose under the heaven.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:1)
CONFIRMATION QUOTE BOBBY CONNER 6/07/03:
“The Bluebird may fly about all summer long enjoying her
freedom. But if she wants a nest full of fledglings, she
must sit for weeks as a volunteer captive. While the
mystery of life gestates beneath her soft feathers, she
has a choice: be free and barren or curtail her freedom
and bring forth a next generation.
I believe the church has been squandering our freedom.
Using our freedom and putting the next generation in
bondage. Grace is not a license to live loose. If we
really have the grace of God, it should command us to
live holy and pure.”

ADOPTED
Today I went to the movie Fly Away. I was so touched by
this beautiful parable. It was the story of a
13-year-old becoming “Mother” to a nest of abandoned
eggs. Of course these little hatchlings bonded with her
when they hatched, and followed the little girl
everywhere. The Canadian Geese literally have to be
taught every little thing by their mother, as they learn
by example.
So the girl taught them to spread their wings, they
learned to run and they learned to take off and fly.
They had to figure out a way to fly them down south for
their first migration, so after that these geese would
always take the same course every year by themselves.
The 13-year-old's Dad taught her how to hang-glide with
a little motor on back. The Dad would lead the daughter,
and the daughter would have her own plane and lead the
geese. They had a humongous Canadian Mother goose
attached to the top of her hang-plane so that it looked
like big Mother from the top while they were flying.
The scenes were awesome. The story had so many precious
and beautiful scenes and parables. I really enjoyed the
blessing.
WORD TO PONDER: NURTURING PARENTS
Silently, I have watched nurturing parents find My
abandoned children, and adopt them as their own. I
watched them nurture and give birth through
intercession. I saw them model how to spread their wings
and fly.
These my faithful parents will be given a forerunning
role in bringing many children through their first
migration. They will lead the way and show the younger
ones how to escape the bitter cold winter that will
overcome the world. These shall escape on new wings of
faith and be kept during the most difficult time the
world has every known. Their children shall return when
the spring comes to melt the bitter cold, and they in
turn shall evangelize the world and raise their own
young. A new beginning, and new hope a new generation is
in the making. Watch it unfold before your very eyes.
“Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed
times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow
observe the time of their coming…” (Jeremiah 8:7)

DON'T FORCE THE HATCHING
When a bird hatches from its shell, the parent does not
help the process. This strengthens the muscles and
ability of the new one to survive outside the protected
and isolated environment. Have patience to pray and wait
for that birthing. It will come forth naturally. It will
be worth the wait.
“Even the sparrow finds a home there, and the swallow
builds her nest and raises her young-- at a place near
your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God!” (Ps
84:3 NLT)

Someone sent me a response to a post:
Dear Sandy,
I read your word on the Elijah's list about the birds, I
was a bit amazed.
Last week as I took a break at work, I went outside for
some fresh air.
There was this raven, black bird [which I don't
particularly like] caught between the window wipers and
the hood of a minivan. He was trying to get free but
couldn't, as I am approaching him, I am talking to him,
the bird, telling him that he was God's little creature
and that He loved him and so did I. So, I cupped his
tiny back into my hand and his long beek was open as if
he would bite, I told him not to be afraid that I wasn't
going to hurt him but help him get free, so please don't
bite me.
I gently pulled him from his trapped position and
telling him that I would put him by the bushes across
the parking lot, so he could fly. As I was walking the
bird across, he was looking intently into my eyes, and
he wasn't resisting my holding him, actually he rested,
cuddled into my cupped hand.
I was truly touched by this event knowing that I was
helping one of God's little creature, and he seemed
intelligent, like he understood me. As I rested him on
the bush edge across the parking lot, he looked back at
me as he took flight to freedom.
This is not the first time I have been touched by God
through a raven, by the way!

Someone had the impression to send me a bird photo and
caption. It really ministered to me.
Caption to the photo:
I left the front door open while I was bringing in the
groceries and after the third trip to the car I found a
hummingbird in my kitchen! I got my butterfly net, stood
on the kitchen table, and after multiple failed
attempts, trapped the bird in the net at the ceiling.
Always with my camera at the ready, I took this photo as
I opened my hand to let the bird go outside.
SANDY INTERPRETATION: To me, this said that when someone
inappropriately invades our personal boundaries with
their opinions, that no matter how strongly we feel the
need to capture their wrong mindsets with the truth...
in the end we need to resist wrestling in debate and
kindly escort them out the door, release them and let
them go. ... In forgiveness and mercy with freedom to go
and do what they will do. ... whether that is to
continue in the same wrong mindset or change in a new
direction.
Since that is the only scriptural resolution to
invasions of our personal boundaries, I saw the futility
of wrestling with another's soul and mindsets and the
grief it causes the Lord. We may point them to the truth
if we are humble to share and they are humble to
receive. But wrestling to capture someone with the truth
is grievous to the Holy Spirit. Wrestling with a person
is soul power in an effort to control. Only God can open
blind eyes to His truth and only God can bring real
change.
RHEMA 12/16/03 SOUL POWER IS FUTILE
HEARD: You convince a women against her will and she's
of the same opinion still.
Zech 4:6-7 NKJV
'Not by might nor by power , but by My Spirit,' Says the
LORD of hosts. 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before
Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring
forth the capstone with shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"
2 Tim 2:24-26 AMP
And the servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome
(fighting and contending). Instead, he must be kindly to
everyone and mild-tempered [preserving the bond of
peace]; he must be a skilled and suitable teacher,
patient and forbearing and willing to suffer wrong. He
must correct his opponents with courtesy and gentleness,
in the hope that God may grant that they will repent and
come to know the Truth [that they will perceive and
recognize and become accurately acquainted with and
acknowledge it], And that they may come to their senses
[and] escape out of the snare of the devil, having been
held captive by him, [henceforth] to do His [God's]
will.

HUNGRY BIRDS

QUICKENED EXPERIENCE: Today while eating lunch we saw a
mother bird feed a fledgling. They were standing on a
branch of our tree. The baby was the same height as the
mother bird but he was twice as fat. Every time the
mother bird would bring him food, he was flapping his
wings so fast they were almost a blur. He was practicing
his instinct to flutter in faith while Mama was near. We
watched them lean together beak to beak as she shared
her meal.
It was a tender moment where I realized that so many
mothers and fathers in the Lord are feeding those who
are coming up in the ranks. They have no idea who they
are really feeding. They are feeding tomorrow’s leaders
who are twice the size that they are themselves. They
have chosen to serve and raise the young. They have
chosen to fulfill the very instinct that God has planted
in each of them to do. It is good.
WORD TO PONDER: WHO YOU ARE FEEDING 8/14/05
You mothers and fathers who are feeding those who are

FEED THE BIRDS – FROM MARY POPPINS
www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VwU_oS2ErQ
Early each day to the steps of Saint Paul's
The little old bird woman comes.
In her own special way to the people she calls,
"Come, buy my bags full of crumbs.
Come feed the little birds, show them you care
And you'll be glad if you do.
Their young ones are hungry,
Their nests are so bare;
All it takes is tuppence from you."
Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag.
"Feed the birds," that's what she cries,
While overhead, her birds fill the skies.
All around the cathedral the saints and apostles
Look down as she sells her wares.
Although you can't see it, you know they are smiling
Each time someone shows that he cares.
Though her words are simple and few,
Listen, listen, she's calling to you:
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag."
WORD TO PONDER: FEED THE BIRDS 10/30/08
Listen My beloveds to the gentle wooing of My Spirit’s
call. Precious children are hungry and waiting for My
bread. I have opened the doors wide to My House of
Bread, giving access to all who are hungry. Freely share
the Bread of Life that I give you and you will have
happy children gathering in unity and safety, singing
and dancing in the streets.
John 6:32-36 NKJV
"Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you
the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true
bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes
down from heaven and gives life to the world." Then they
said to Him, "Lord, give us this bread always." And
Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life . He who
comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in
Me shall never thirst.

The Birds Don't Worry, God Feeds Them

UPDATE HEARD 11/04/08: Do the birds represent something?
FLASH REMEMBRANCE: I suddenly remembered this scripture:
Matt 6:34
"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate
the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to
the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and
mammon. "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your
life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor
about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more
than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at
the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor
gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by
worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 "So why do
you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the
field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and
yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was
not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes
the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is
thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you,
O you of little faith? 31 "Therefore do not worry,
saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?'
or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For after all these things
the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that
you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom
of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall
be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about
tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
And then I realized that the same day I saw and heard
the above about the birds, I also heard the following. I
didnt realize they connected.
HEARD: Ah ha! You got it!
