PARABLE: DANIEL FOODS IN HARD TIMES 9/21/09
Today Anna and I walked out a parable. We chose to meet
at a wild life reserve, have lunch and then drive
through and see the many animals. When we arrived we
found out that the restaurant was closed and the other
food available was in the gift shop which were snacks of
nuts, seeds and dried fruit. When I looked at them it
was quickened to me that these were Daniel’s foods
without meat.
After seeing the animals, we drove towards town and
found a place that advertised homemade bread and soup.
When we walked in, we saw that the whole place was
decorated with the theme of Noah’s ark, with many
stuffed animals, etc. Most of the foods offered were
again a Daniel’s fast of mostly vegetarian foods and
little meat.
To go to 2 places where both had a collection of many
animals in once location and both had mostly Daniel fast
foods, it was strongly quickened as a remembrance of my
preparing for the spiritual and physical ark of 5 gallon
buckets of beans, legumes, etc.
In faith, I prepared for a family of 8 (number in Noah’s
family in ark) for 15 weeks which was 3.5 months to
represent a token of three and half years. For 25 years
I have walked through the 15 weeks intercession several
times in different ways, each representing a hard time
of tribulation. When I walked through each of them, I
knew that we can only prepare a small bit for the
physical realm and God will use and multiply what we
have. There was no way we have the means to store for
such a time and I knew we each had to rise to the place
in faith where God will be the Source for all that we
need.
Dan 1:8-14 NKJV
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not
defile himself with the portion of the king's
delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore
he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might
not defile himself. 9 Now God had brought Daniel into
the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs. 10
And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, "I fear my
lord the king, who has appointed your food and drink.
For why should he see your faces looking worse than the
young men who are your age? Then you would endanger my
head before the king."
11 So Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of
the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and
Azariah, 12 "Please test your servants for ten days, and
let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.
13 Then let our appearance be examined before you, and
the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of
the king's delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with
your servants." 14 So he consented with them in this
matter, and tested them ten days.
Matt 6:31-34 NKJV
"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?'
or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32
For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your
heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things shall be added to
you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for
tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for
the day is its own trouble.
Ex 16:18 NKJV
So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered
much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little
had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each
one's need.
Matt 6:11 NKJV
Give us this day our daily bread.
