RHEMA 12/14/08 EMBRACE MY CALL BUT CONSIDER THE COST
HEARD: Headstrong.
PIX: I saw someone running.
PIX: I saw a group of men on top of a ship.
And they were tossed off the boat from the stormy
waters. I sensed that this was Jonah’s storm and boat.
Jonah 1:12-2:3
And he said to them, "Pick me up and throw me into
the sea; then the sea will become calm for you. For I
know that this great tempest is because of me." 13
Nevertheless the men rowed hard to return to land, but
they could not, for the sea continued to grow more
tempestuous against them. 14 Therefore they cried out to
the LORD and said, "We pray, O LORD, please do not let
us perish for this man's life, and do not charge us with
innocent blood; for You, O LORD, have done as it pleased
You." 15 So they picked up Jonah and threw him into the
sea, and the sea ceased from its raging. 16 Then the men
feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice to
the LORD and took vows. Now the LORD had prepared a
great fish to swallow Jonah . And Jonah was in the
belly of the fish three days and three nights.
Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the
fish's belly. 2 And he said: "I cried out to the LORD
because of my affliction, And He answered me. "Out of
the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice. 3
For You cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the
seas, And the floods surrounded me; All Your billows and
Your waves passed over me.
HEARD SONG: I heard the song, Feed the birds,
feed the birds.
RHEMA 12/01/08 RESIST HASTY RESPONSES
HEARD:
I will tell you what happened. Headstrong.
2 Tim 3:1-5 NKJV
But know this, that in the last days
perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of
themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without
self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors,
headstrong , haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than
lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying
its power. And from such people turn away!
Headstrong = rash
NT:4312
NT:4312 propetes (prop-et-ace'); from a
compound of NT:4253 and NT:4098; falling forward,
i.e. headlong (figuratively, precipitate):
KJV - heady, rash [-ly].
NT:4098
NT:4098 pipto (pip'-to); a reduplicated
and contracted form of peto (pet'-o); (which occurs only
as an alternate in certain tenses); probably akin to
NT:4072 through the idea of alighting; to fall
(literally or figuratively):
KJV - fail, fall (down), light on.
RASH: From the internet dictionary:
1) Acting or tending to act too hastily or without due
consideration.
2) Characterized by or showing too great haste or lack
of consideration: rash promises.
WORD TO PONDER: EMBRACE MY CALL BUT CONSIDER THE
COST 12/14/08
Sometimes I give you difficult messages to swallow. My
children, they can not discern between their right hand
and their left. But I have called, prepared and sent
you to teach them, Beloved. Do not run away from your
assignment. Embrace My call upon your life and relent
from running. You will find that the storm surrounding
you shall calm and the billowing waves will still before
your simple YES.
When you respond, consider it well. Resist hasty, rash,
headstrong impulses to run or even commit before you
have considered the cost.
Matt 21:28-31 NKJV
"But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he
came to the first and said, 'Son, go, work today in my
vineyard.' 29 He answered and said, 'I will not,' but
afterward he regretted it and went. 30 Then he came to
the second and said likewise. And he answered and said,
'I go, sir,' but he did not go. 31 Which of the two did
the will of his father?" |
