FAITH IS ACTION
QUOTE: I was watching an interview on God TV
about a guy who came back from the dead. The Lord
partially healed him and the other parts progressed as
he went. (Luke 17:14) He said, “Lord Jesus if You heal
me I can get up from this wheel chair and walk.” And so
the Lord said, “Get up and walk.” He replied, “But I
dont have any feeling in my legs!” And Jesus said, “You
dont walk by feelings, you walk by faith. Just trust Me
and get up and walk.” And when he stood up he tried and
ended up running to keep his balance right into the wall
about 15 feet away. Then he had to pray to get back to
the wheel chair! Later he had graduated to a cane. And
when he gave his cane away, he walked into the house and
forgot about it, and walked with NO limp. It was his
family that noticed before he did.
COMMENT: When I heard this testimony of faith in
action, I had the impression that faith is like rowing a
boat and being at the top of a rapids in the wild river.
You are staring at all this white water in front of you
and you know once you get into the current, there is no
turning back. So in faith, you commit your way to the
Lord, let go and just go through with the choice. That
is faith in action.
James 2:17-24 NKJV
Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works
, is dead . 18 But someone will say, "You have faith,
and I have works." Show me your faith without your
works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You
believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the
demons believe — and tremble! 20 But do you want to
know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead
? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works
when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you
see that faith was working together with his works, and
by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture
was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it
was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was
called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is
justified by works, and not by faith only.
