EXPERIENCE FEEDING THE HUNGRY 2/16/98
Today Wayne took me to Nachos, his favorite Mexican
food. I wasn't hungry so I ordered some nachos thinking
that I could take them home to our son. I ate about 10
chips loaded with goo and was stuffed and asked for a
to-go box.
On our way to the car, I noticed a homeless fellow
looking at the boxes. He was wavering and trying to
decide if he was going to ask me. As I approached him,
he said, “Do you have any extra food you can spare?” I
looked inside the top box to make sure it was my meal,
then happily said, “Sure, you can have this one!” He was
so appreciative and thanked me so much. I said, “Your
welcome, God bless you!” He then returned the blessing
to me and my family.
As we parted, I looked back over my shoulder and he had
already opened the box and was munching away. I was
tickled that I had ordered the one heavily loaded with
meat, beans, cheese, olives and tomatoes, etc. so he was
getting some nutrition. I was so tickled at being able
to give to him, it felt so good, words can't even
explain it. I thought about him many times the rest of
the day and that is one man who has a storage of prayers
loaded up for him!!! Someday I will meet him in heaven.
It truely is more blessed to give than to receive.
Acts 20:35 NKJV
And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He
said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
