RHEMA 5/08/11 TO FIX OUR MINDS, STAYED ON JESUS
CHRIST
heard:
We have turned you. In the appropriate direction.
The entrance to My kingdom. I am agreement with you.
An intimate place.
heard:
Thou will keep them in perfect peace whose
mind is stayed
on thee. It's an assurance. Trust Me.
Isa 26:3 NKJV
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is
stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
FIXED: WHERE ARE YOU LOOKING?
QUICKENED TRUTH: When seamen are first getting
used to the constant fluctuation of the water and boat,
they are told to keep their eyes on the horizon and this
will help from getting sea sick.
quickened
remembrance: This week I drove up to a
complete stop at the curb in front of the Post Office.
At the same moment my tires came to a stop, the car next
to me started moving backwards. I pressed my brake to
the floorboard thinking I was still moving forward! I
actually got sea sick with the feeling of moving when I
was not!
-
If you
keep your eyes on those who are wavering back and
forth, you might waver in decision too.
-
If you
keep your eyes on moving or fluctuating
circumstances, your spiritual equilibrium might
become unstable.
Instead, keep your eyes on Jesus and His goal set before
you. In that stance, you will remain FIXED, stable,
unwavering, not doubtful, and you will press forward til
you finish your course.
Titus 2:13-14 NKJV
... looking for the blessed hope and glorious
appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who
gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every
lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special
people, zealous for good works.
Luke 4:20-22 NKJV
...And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were
fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, "Today
this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." So all
bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words
which proceeded out of His mouth...
Ezek 40:4-5 NKJV
And the man said to me, "Son of man, look with your
eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on
everything I show you; for you were brought here so
that I might show them to you. Declare to the house of
Israel everything you see."
Ps 119:37-38 NLT
Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life
through your word. Reassure me of your promise, made to
those who fear you.
Col 2:6-7 AMP
As you have therefore received Christ, [even] Jesus
the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct
yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him. Have
the roots [of your being] firmly and deeply planted
[in Him, fixed and founded in Him], being
continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more
confirmed and established in the faith...
ABOUT FELLOWSHIP WITH BAD REPORTS
Num 14:36-38
Now the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who
returned and made all the congregation complain against
him by bringing a bad report of the land, those very men
who brought the evil report about the land, died by the
plague before the Lord.
...I read world news daily, but only to keep up abreast
of events and how it relates to the Word of God,
prophesy, and so that I may pray and overcome evil with
good.
When I read negative reports of bad news of any kind I
see all that is wrong and unfair. Injustice is very hard
and if I focused on what is wrong I could become angry
and bitter if I did not pray about these things and do
my part to overcome evil with good. So I try very hard
to stay positive and not become corrupted with the
negativity of the world. In order to hear the Lord the
way I do, I try to keep my focus on Him instead. I want
my life and my heart to please the Lord.
Phil 4:8-9
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever
things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever
things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever
things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if
there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these
things. The things which you learned and received and
heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will
be with you.
Rom 12:21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with
good.
APPLICATION:
If we want to guarded and kept in God's
perfect and constant peace, we make choices to keep our
minds stayed on Him.
Isa 26:3-4 AMP
You will guard him and keep him in perfect and
constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its
character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself
to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. So
trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him,
hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an
everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].
