HIDDEN IN CHRIST 2/09/10
I asked the QW Class about being hidden in Christ and
here are some of their quickened comments:
=======
Two weeks ago I prayed through Ps 91 at C-HOP on a 2
hour set. A few days after that I stopped next to a
disaster response vehicle and then witnessed an
accident(nobody got hurt) and stopped at an intersection
where there were 6 emergency vehicles. I was a bit
concerned when I saw the third scene, wondering if God
was telling me to pray more for protection, but then He
reminded me of praying through Psa 91
Psalms 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the
Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalms 91:5-8 You shall not be afraid of the terror
by night, [Nor] of the arrow [that] flies by day, [Nor]
of the pestilence [that] walks in darkness, [Nor] of the
destruction [that] lays waste at noonday. A thousand may
fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand;
[But] it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes
shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
Psa 17:8 "Protect me as You would the pupil of Your
eye, hide me in the shadow of Your wings as You hover
over me
What He was showing me was a picture of "But it shall
not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you
look..."
I have also been asking Him about the revelation John G
Lake had about Christ in Him. That the resurrection
power of Christ in him, caused germs on his hand to die,
when doctors looked at in through a microscope. He could
help those dying of the Bubonic plague in South Africa
and he never got sick. We need that kind of revelation.
Col 1:27 "And this is the secret: that Christ in your
hearts is your only hope of glory."
=======
I just came home and on the way was listening to a tape
with Bob Jones at a Transformation Summit and he said
the body of Christ needs to memorize Psalm 91. I thought
okay Lord I'll do it. For sure after reading this I
will.
=======
The thought came to me that being hidden was like being
"hidden in Christ" so that the world doesn't see us but
only Christ, that He flows from us and not us.
One time the Lord was allowing me to be pressed hard
from ALL sides in my life. I said "God you have to
STOP!! You are killing me". He said: "That's right. I
want the only life that flows out of you to be ME!!." We
don't bring Life, but He does. His words bring life, our
words bring death. Oh! that we could be so dead to our
selves that no matter where He took us we would carry so
much of His life with us that we would just pour it
everywhere; grocery store, cleaners, bank, gas station;
the common everyday places. Nothing is by accident. He
leads us out on assignment, even to the end of the block
on our walks. He told me once:
"...I invite you to walk steadily along with Me in this
place of peace and light. As you do, you will bring
light to the paths of many around you...Shine for Me, so
that others can see My face in yours."
=======
Col 3:3 "For you died, and your life is now hidden
with Christ in God."
A.W. Tozer said something interesting, but I can't find
where I read it. He said that if we are dead in Christ,
it doesn't mean we lose our personality. I think at
times I have tried to be so 'dead' that I lose my
personality. To learn how to allow Jesus to live and
love through us, though we each have an unique
personality, sense of humor etc. A dream that I once
had, made me realize God has a sense of humor. I was
sitting in a sofa chair, the chair moved like a car, it
had wheels, but I had no control over where this chair
was going, it was heading to main street in our town,
but there was no steering wheel, and it was moving, but
totally out of my control. It was just such a funny
picture, can't remember exactly when I had this dream.
When I spend time with Jesus at times I experience being
so filled with His love, that I can feel His love for
those around me. I love it when that happens. I need so
much more of Him.
=======
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I
live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life
which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the
Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Ten years ago I went through an ordeal where I was not
certain if I had actually died or had a near death
experience. I had an experience where i was at the foot
of the cross of Jesus on Calvary and at one point i was
inside of Him as He hung on the cross. I could feel the
perfection of His love toward me, at the same time
knowing that He was the only reason that i was alive and
that He was carrying my sin away. . .(small portion of
that experience)
Jesus gave me the above Gal 2:20 as a life scripture
along with another one in Ephesians.
That is being hidden in Christ, we ARE there whether we
perceive it or not! |
