8/02/09 HOLD THAT LINE
HEARD:
Hold that line a bit longer. We’re
pressing in to meet your need. Try harder, no just
trust Me Sweetheart. You are doing fine, just stick to
the plan. Trust Me.
COMMENTS: At our high school football games the
crowds used to chant, “Hold that line. Hold that
line!” This meant that when the other team had the
ball, we put up defense lines to hold them back from
taking the ball to the goal.
Since the elections, we are walking out a sentence of
days of captivity when the enemy has the upper hand. We
are raising a standard of prayer and holiness over our
concerns in what we see taking shape with the changing
of the guard.
Part of that standard is praying for those in authority,
whether we agree with them or not, and whether they are
instruments of righteousness or unrighteousness.
Part of the standard is lifestyle changes where we
repent and fear God and His Word. God Himself sets up
and tears down kings to bring about changes in His
people.
Part of that standard is speaking the truth when we have
the opportunity, so that we do not lose our freedoms of
speech.
Sometimes we become overwhelmed feeling the standard is
not enough but when we each do our part and stay
faithful to it, it brings a stability to the angelic
hosts who are fighting to overthrow the demonic regime.
Jer 29:7 NKJV
And seek the peace of the city where I have caused
you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for
it; for in its peace you will have peace.
1 Tim 2:1-4 NKJV
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for
all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that
we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness
and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the
sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be
saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Rom 13:1-4 NKJV
Let every soul be subject to the governing
authorities. For there is no authority except from God,
and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2
Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the
ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring
judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to
good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of
the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise
from the same. |
