HOW NOT TO BE LEFT BEHIND
2/17/07
A reader asked me how I could
be sure I would not be left behind in the tribulation
and also how I could be sure I was saved. This person
was wanting some kind of a sign, miracle or Word of
assurance that he would not be left behind. It was
quickened to me to share the answer the Lord gave me
about this.
The scriptures are the
tension between 2 poles of those who have different
beliefs on whether one can lose their salvation, and
what exactly is the tribulation and also the catching up
to meet Him. Using scripture, one can validate their
beliefs on both sides of the fence, including all the
places in the middle. I have purposed in my heart not
to debate scripture and to me it doesn’t matter what the
proper interpretation of these issues are, as long as I
am with the Lord and He is with me. I am responsible
for my own soul and I cling to Him in holy respect.
The only way I know one can really overcome doubts is to
abide in Him on a daily level of leaning, trusting,
seeking, and desiring His help and input and love. As
long as you are connected to the Vine, you are connected
with His life flow through your spiritual veins.
John 8:31-32 NKJV
If you abide in My word,
you are My disciples indeed.
John 12:46 NKJV
I have come as a light
into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not
abide in darkness.
John 15:4-10 NKJV
Abide in Me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it
abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in
Me. 5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who
abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for
without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not
abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered;
and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and
they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words
abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall
be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that
you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. "As
the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My
love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in
My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments
and abide in His love.
1 John 4:12-14 NKJV
No one has seen God at any
time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His
love has been perfected in us. 13 By this we know that
we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us
of His Spirit. |
