HEARD: I had to go to my notes constantly to double check that I understood this. In the middle of the river, do you take time to stop and analyze?

LEARNING TO READ WATER

Growing up I spent many years in river boats in the summer time. We boated for several days at a time, camping on the banks, along streams and waterfalls. I learned very early how to “read” water. We boated several class 4 and 5 rapids and got out of the boats ahead of time, looking for the safest routes to go, depending on the height of the river at that time.

My Dad taught me how to read where the currents go, what happens with different types of rocks, depths, speed of water, eddies, frothy water, sink holes, canyon walls, etc. First I learned on the river bank. Then I learned going through the rapids and “becoming one” with the movements of my Dad’s oars and what my eyes told me why he was maneuvering the boat with those movements. Then finally I learned by actually doing it myself in my own boats.

We can see a map of walking in the Spirit by knowing His plans ahead of time. But to know the plans is not to experience them. Next we can be carried in someone’s leadership and be in tune with how they follow the lead of the Holy Spirit, depending upon which way the river is flowing. We get to experience the joy of knowing His flow and involvement in the movement of His Spirit. Finally we have the oars in our own hands, and we experience the full sensation of participating with the flow of the Holy Spirit to get from one destination to another.

I have in my mind a picture of being at the top of a rapid. Many of the rapids we ran started with a trough in the shape of a V. This was a shiny green slick of water right at the top just before the water turned white. Our plan was to aim the boat in the correct angle, to go right down that chute and into the flow of where the main current flowed. Chances are if we started right, we would end right. However once we were through the trough and into the white water, we didn’t have time to check the plans. We might remember what we saw previously on the river bank, but once in the water, we had to know what the water was saying through the licks in the oars and what our eyes told us in the passages through rocks and currents ahead.

CHANNELS AND PRESSURES 10/21/06

In My river, when I accelerate My timings, it causes a flurry of action. In a natural streambed or river, the waters flow more quickly when the land slopes downhill. The fewer the rocks, or stumbling stones in its path, the faster the water moves. And the narrower the channel is, the more pressure is built up in order to pass through quickly.

If you stand along the bank, you may witness My Words passing so fast, that you will miss the depth of what took place, unless you are in the water experiencing it for yourself. The experience may be a powerful one, of jumping in, getting wet and feeling the surge of My power. However, it is important that when you feel the drawing to release yourself to the drawing of My Presence, that you understand this sudden acceleration has a purpose to MOVE you to another place. I AM strongly moving My people to another place through channels and pressures.

Job 28:10-11 NKJV

He cuts out channels in the rocks, And his eye sees every precious thing. He dams up the streams from trickling; What is hidden he brings forth to light.

TEACH THEM HOW TO READ THE WATER 10/15/03

Sweetheart, My children are not able to maneuver in the river waters ahead nor carry their own gear, so I have placed them and their gear in your boat. Don’t worry about the strength to handle their weight while shooting the rapids. Because you are yoked with Me, it will be light and easy.

They are in the boat with you, because you have learned to read the water. You know where the rocks, (or stumbling stones) are subtly hidden under the white water, you know where the currents carry too swift a pace, you know where they slow into eddies. With one glance you can read the signs and know exactly where to go and how to maneuver the oars for a smooth ride. My children shall be safe in your boat, for I have taught you well. They shall learn from you merely by your example and one day they shall lead others into the land of fruitful inheritance. Teach them well, and your reward shall be great.

"Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.” (Deuteronomy 11:18-21 NKJV)

He exaggerates the waves around you to look like a storm, but they are just small ripples in the river of living water. You must rise above your circumstances and see that when you are in Me you have moved out of the world system of fear, loss, and death. You have entered the flow of living waters. You are in My Living Water right now! You cannot perish in these waters! This is the flow of the Life of God. It is in you, around you, and flowing out from you! Rise above your circumstances and remember what I told you: ‘I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.’ (John 10:10b) You must not listen to the enemy! He is a thief and a liar! Listen to me! Study my Word and store it in your heart so that you cannot be deceived!”
