IS THE 2ND HEAVEN
THE DEMONIC REALM?
CLASS MEMBER QUESTION 4/29/10
“This past Sunday at my young adult
group, we were discussing "three heavens" as we know
that the 3rd heaven is where the man Paul talked about
was taken to (2 Cor 12) and we were pondering the other
two.
Now I've heard it said often that the second heaven is
the demonic realm. Can you explain to me where this
thought comes from? Is there a biblical basis or just a
belief that has come about by experience?” {End Class

RESPONSE FROM SANDY
We are told that Paradise is the
3rd heaven and that was Jesus’ first stop
after he died. We are told that Jesus is above all
wickedness in heavenly places. So we know that Paradise
is above the other heavenly places.
I dont think there is a scripture
that actually tells what heaven is what. But through
the collective whole we can deduct that ONE of the
heavens is where the principalities dwell.
THIRD HEAVEN
Luke 23:43
And Jesus said to him,
"Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in
Paradise ."
2 Cor 12:2-4
I know a man in Christ who
fourteen years ago — whether in the body I do not know,
or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows —
such a one was caught up to the third heaven. [3772]
And I know such a man — whether in the body or out of
the body I do not know, God knows — 4 how he was caught
up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it
is not lawful for a man to utter.

(through the idea of elevation); the sky; by extension,

In this scripture, the word
heaven occurs 3 times. They are all the same Hebrew
word, #8064.
1 Kings 8:27-28

have built!
shamayim
OT:8064
shamayim (shaw-mah'-yim); dual of an unused singular
shameh (shaw-meh'); from an unused root meaning to be
lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to
the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to
the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve):
KJV -
air, astrologer, heaven (-s).
WARFARE IN HEAVEN
Rev 12:7-8
And war broke out in heaven:
[3772] Michael and his angels fought with the dragon;
and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not
prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any
longer.

PRINCIPALITIES ARE IN HEAVENLY
PLACES
Eph 6:12-13
For we do not wrestle against
flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,
against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
places.
Eph 3:10-11
to the intent that now the
manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church
to the principalities and powers in the heavenly
places,
JESUS’ THRONE IS ABOVE THE
DOMINIONS OF PRINCIPALITIES IN HEAVENLY PLACES
Eph 1:20-21
which He worked in Christ when
He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right
hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all
principality and power and might and dominion, and every
name that is named, not only in this age but also in
that which is to come. |
