PARABLE:  JAGGED EDGES  2/19/10

As I was viewing a document in 75% page view, I was checking that the right hand edges of the text blocks were even and justified text.  With a quick glance, I could easily see what paragraphs were not justified text, because the edges were jagged.

I realized that is a beautiful parable of discernment.  The more we and other believers line up to the Word of the Lord, the easier it is to see what is out of place.

UPDATE 3/3/10:  I had assigned our Gifts Class a lesson on looking up another class member’s name and prophesying over them.  I was reading over the entries to make sure they were positive and edifying and within scripture.  I came across one tiny word from an internet quote that was definitely a crooked edge.  I marveled how easy it is to discern between good and evil when we keep things simple.

Rom 16:19 NKJV

I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.
