OVERCOME
THE DEVOURER
I
received an email reporting several attacks from a
devouring spirit: jobs lost, wages cut, and car
breakdowns.
WAYNE'S
VISION: Prior to the email, Wayne saw a roaring lion and
he was the size of a car. He was coming from a distance
with his head held high, somewhat prancing and looking
around. When he saw Wayne, he came to devour him and
opened his mouth. But Wayne had a GARDEN HOE in his
hand, and he put the hoe up under the lion's chin and
closed it! I feel that this was a key revealed as to the
right weapon for combating the devourer right now. Here
are the few things He gave me.
1. The
garden hoe is used to weed our gardens. The weeds are
sins, offenses, unforgiveness, carnality, etc. Hoes also
remove stones that are the stumbling blocks in our lives
that cause reproach.
2. We
can also use a hoe to draw a line, a furrow to plant
seeds. Seeds are like good works and good Words.
3. A hoe
can also draw a fire line. That can be a parable to
speaking to the demonic fire and saying, "Thus far and
no farther!"

QUICKENED SCRIPTURE
The Lord
speaks to me in parabolic language and He knows I love
that stuff. (smile) When I was asking Him why the garden
hoe, He brought back a funny memory. I know 2 pastors,
who after being touched by renewal, would say "Ho!" when
His Spirit came upon them. It was quickened to them both
that the following scripture was somehow connected to
this experience as a parable. It is interesting to me
that this scripture is about those who have no money, as
though they have been bitten by the devourer.
Isa
55:1-3 NKJV
"Ho!
Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who
have no money,
Come,
buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money
and without price. Why do you spend money for what is
not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let
your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear,
and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I
will make an everlasting covenant with you - The sure
mercies of David.

REVELATION: The term, "Catch the little foxes," has been
running around in my mind lately. I don't know if you
can catch a fox with a garden hoe! But foxes are
devourers too.

CONCLUSION

{Words
to Ponder are summaries of His quickened Words of
prophetic revelation, punched with the word of wisdom
and written under inspiration.}
WORD TO
PONDER: 4/29/05 CATCH THE FOXES
Of
course the devourer is at work when you see sudden
massive losses in physical, mechanical and spiritual
things breaking down in your life; but seldom do they
come with sudden alarm unless there is blatant sin and
major breakdowns. It is rather through the small subtle
inroads into your life which nibble away at your hedge,
increments at a time. So catch the little foxes that
steal your self discipline and compromise your
conscience. Do not harden your sensitivity to the subtle
call of My voice in your heart. You may not hear Words,
but you know what is right and safe, pure and holy in
regards to keeping your hedge safe. Catch the foxes
before your harvest is stolen.
Song
2:14-3:1 NLT
"My dove
is hiding behind some rocks, behind an outcrop on the
cliff. Let me see you; let me hear your voice. For your
voice is pleasant, and you are lovely." "Quick! Catch
all the little foxes before they ruin the vineyard of
your love, for the grapevines are all in blossom." "My
lover is mine, and I am his. He feeds among the lilies!
Before the dawn comes and the shadows flee away, come
back to me, my love. Run like a gazelle or a young stag
on the rugged mountains."
