WORD(S) OF WISDOM:
OVERCOMING RESPONSES TO OLD ABUSIVE RUTS 2/12/07
The Lord is desiring all to
move beyond the past and see things in a different
light. There are many kinds of abuse from people,
circumstances and even bad dreams. When circumstances
gets close to an old wound caused from abuse, it is
natural to respond in irrational ways, because old
abusive patterns repeated themselves until well
grooved. The wounded person expects one way of looking
at things, and is unable to see there may be a total
different heart to the matter, merely because the
pattern is so well grooved, they cant see past the rut.
If you find yourself
misunderstanding a person’s words, circumstances or
dreams, seek understanding before responding in your old
rut. You may find yourself quite surprised that you
totally missed the point, simply because an old wound
has shaped you to respond one way.
There is one very simple key
that either sets the old tracks to remain, or jumps the
old rutted grooves into a new place: Expectation. Your
mind, emotions, and patterns are set, because you EXPECT
and anticipate what is coming to you is the same as
yesterday. Or you can EXPECT that what is coming to you
may actually be addressing an old issue in a brand new
light in order to give you a creative new way of
overcoming an old wound. EXPECT differently.
Change is inevitable, except
in a set mind. But God is greater.
2 Cor 10:4-5 NKJV
For the weapons of our
warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling
down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high
thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience
of Christ...
Isa 30:18 AMP
And therefore the Lord
[earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to
be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up,
that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness
to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed
(happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who
[earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long
for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His
peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken
companionship]! [John 14:3,27; 2 Cor 12:9; Heb 12:2; 1
John 3:16; Rev 3:5.]

Every good gift and every
perfect ( free, large, full) gift is from above; it
comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in
[the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising
or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an
eclipse].
