ALARMING PARABLE:
PAY ATTENTION AND STICK TO SCRIPTURE
Wayne and I walked out a parable today and it was a
warning from the Lord. While I was sitting in the
parking lot at the post office, I noticed a car pulled
up 2 spaces away from ours and it was identical car,
year, make and color. When Wayne came out of the post
office to return to the car, he went to the wrong one
and I was pounding on the car window and calling his
name, to stop him. But he put his hand on the door
handle and the old man in the car was very alarmed and
turned sharply to him. This astounded Wayne and Wayne
quickly apologized that he had the wrong car. Both of
them saw me laughing and so they grinned and it was OK.
Later we went to Costco and when I was getting out of
the car, the red rig that was parked directly in front
of us started blaring its alarm. It was so startling,
that it made me jump and I wondered if God was trying to
say something. The poor lady in the car was doing
everything to get it to stop.
I noticed it was constricted in some of the aisles in
the store and Wayne was walking in front of our cart and
pulling it through traffic. So I basically stopped
watching where we were going, and just let him steer and
I was still holding onto the cart’s handle and basically
walking along for the ride. By the time we were through,
he was steering the cart in the parking lot and I wasnt
watching at all, just merely holding on and looking
around. We stopped right in front of the car and just as
Wayne was getting ready to put his keys into the trunk,
he stopped and realized it was the wrong car. It was the
same identical car from the post office!
We both felt that this was a Word from the Lord to pay
attention. After we discussed this Word, we felt that it
was saying that there is a relationship, spiritual walk
and/or ministry that is identical to what the Lord has
provided. The only difference between the two is the
license plate.
The license plate is the validation, the authorization
to move in that walk, calling or ministry. We need to be
watchful that we not take a counterfeit copy. Our
standard must always be scripture.
Matt 7:22-23 NLT
On judgment day many will tell me, 'Lord, Lord, we
prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name
and performed many miracles in your name.' But I will
reply, 'I never knew you. Go away; the things you did
were unauthorized.'

PRESUMPTION: I
have prayed many prayers in my life, but one of the ones
that I repeat most often is that the Lord strongly keep
me from presumption. Presumption is assuming something
is God, when it is not. Presumption is assuming
something is not God, when it is.
• Presumption is prophesying words in His Name that He
did not speak.
• Presumption is making a change of direction when it is
not God’s will.
• Presumption is assuming that something spiritual is
God.
• Presumption is the zeal of flesh’s refusal to wait on
God.
• Presumption is not waiting for God to send 2-3
confirmations.
• Presumption is self sufficiency and independence from
God.
• Presumption is moving ahead of God and His timing.
• Presumption is choosing a war that is beyond
scriptural boundaries.
• Presumption is choosing a ministry that is outside of
God’s prescribed grace.
Presumption does not
fear God.
Prov 14:26-27
NKJV
In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, and
His children will have a place of refuge. The fear of
the LORD is a fountain of life, to turn one away from
the snares of death.
Ps 19:12-13 NKJV
Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret
faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous
sins; Let them not have dominion over me.
Job 36:9-10 AMP
Then He shows to them [the true character of] their
deeds and their transgressions, that they have acted
arrogantly [with presumption and self-sufficiency]. He
also opens their ears to instruction and discipline, and
commands that they return from iniquity.
Prov 1:28-31 NKJV
"Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They
will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear
of the LORD, They would have none of my counsel and
despised my every rebuke. Therefore they shall eat the
fruit of their own way, and be filled to the full with
their own fancies.
