READERS QUESTIONS ABOUT COUNTERFEIT PROPHESY
QUESTION: If you are desperate to hear God and
think He is wanting you to do something, and yet feel
dread about doing whatever that is, is it possible that
because of the fear and/or dread, that a prophetic
person can pick up on that and prophesy that very thing
that you dread?? Like a counterfeit prophetic word?
ANSWER: Yes the demonic realm feeds upon fear
and can release counterfeit revelations to anyone. The
Lord does not work through fear, and that opens the door
to the demonic. Fear is the opposite of faith. God
will prepare your heart to receive His Word, going
before, behind and along side of His Words to bring you
into the right place. The road would be umpired through
His PEACE.
Phil 4:6-7 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer
and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests
be made known to God; and the peace of God, which
surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and
minds through Christ Jesus.
QUESTION: Can the revealing of one’s past, like
in a word of knowledge inspire a counterfeit prophesy?
ANSWER: Yes. I was once in a small meeting
where I knew each person very well. There was a
visiting evangelist who did not know anyone, and he
prophesied over these people. He was receiving
knowledge about people’s past by way of jobs, ministries
and Words they had already received. Then instead of
speaking them as words of knowledge about their past, he
prophesied these things as future destinies. The
evangelist had come out of a witchcraft background. I
did not know if the words of knowledge about these
people’s pasts were given to him by the demonic and he
falsely prophesied them as future. Or if the words of
knowledge were inspired by the Lord and this person did
not realize that he was receiving past revelations and
they had already come to pass... and he was
misunderstanding his gift and how to use it to increase
faith for something else the Lord wanted to say.
One of the most remarkably accurate words given was
about this lady’s past ministry. He explained exactly
what she had already done in her life as a single person
and said that she would be doing this in the future
ministry. He did not know she was now married and would
never choose that ministry due to being married. At the
time of the prophesy, she also had a disease and died
shortly after.
Jer 14:14 NKJV
And the LORD said to me, "The prophets prophesy lies
in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor
spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision,
divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their
heart.
Zech 10:2 NKJV
For the idols speak delusion; The diviners envision
lies, And tell false dreams; They comfort in vain.
Therefore the people wend their way like sheep; They are
in trouble because there is no shepherd.
QUESTION: It is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit to
say that the Spirit behind a prophesy, a person’s
anointing, a meeting or even a revival is counterfeit,
if it is truly Holy Spirit inspired?
ANSWER: YES.
The Holy Spirit does not defend Himself but testifies of
Jesus Christ. It is a serious offense and grieves the
Father, Jesus and the Spirit and will not be forgiven
and in danger of eternal damnation.
The following passage is connected all together within
context of the same message. It clearly reveals exactly
what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is:
Matt 12:24-32 NKJV
Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, "This
fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the
ruler of the demons." 25 But Jesus knew their thoughts,
and said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself
is brought to desolation, and every city or house
divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan
casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then
will his kingdom stand? 27 And if I cast out demons by
Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore
they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out demons
by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come
upon you. 29 Or how can one enter a strong man's house
and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong
man? And then he will plunder his house. 30 He who is
not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather
with Me scatters abroad. 31
"Therefore I
say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven
men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be
forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the
Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks
against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him,
either in this age or in the age to come.
Mark 3:28-30 NKJV
"Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven
the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may
utter; 29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit
never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal
condemnation" — 30 because they said, "He has an
unclean spirit."
1 John 5:16 NKJV
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does
not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him
life for those who commit sin not leading to death.
There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he
should pray about that.
John 15:26-27 NKJV
"But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you
from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from
the Father, He will testify of Me.
QUESTION: Can one hear things that seem to lead
one way but yet his insides feel another? Do you think
this is soul vs. spirit, or does God ever move in such a
way when one is seeking direction? (In the past I have
gotten quite discouraged because of striving to hear
Him. The striving can bring confusion, I think.)
ANSWER: Yes the soul and spirit can be contrary
to one another. The soul is a person’s thoughts, will
and emotions. Sometimes one can hear his own thoughts
and the Spirit within him is contrary to those
thoughts.
It is also true that demons can also speak thoughts and
emotions to a person that will also be contrary to
hearing the Holy Spirit’s leading.
The Lord allows everything in our lives to surface so
that it will be washed and aligned with Who He is, with
scripture and to change us into His image.
Seeking direction can lead to wavering. It is better to
give each detail to the Lord in prayer, and then leave
it there and then allow Him to bring you Words,
confirmations and direction through natural events.
James 1:5-8 NKJV
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who
gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will
be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no
doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea
driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man
suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8
he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
QUESTION: Do you think a religious spirit can
make a person feel that "you should...." or "you ought
to...." and it seems like the Lord's leading but it is a
religious spirit? Maybe even a person could experience
this where the enemy is trying to rush you to settle for
something instead of waiting for what the Lord has?
ANSWER: A religious spirit makes someone feel
guilty and accused if they do not perform properly.
The enemy pushes. God draws. The Lord used the parable
of separating the sheep from the goats. The sheep
follow and are meek, the goats push and ram heads.
The shepherd walks before them and draws them out of
their place, and they follow Him. However a goat leader
would be like a goat, where he goes behind and butts or
pushes with his head, or kicks them to move,
John 10:3-5 NKJV
To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his
voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them
out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep , he goes
before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his
voice.
Matt 25:32-34 NKJV
All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He
will separate them one from another, as a shepherd
divides his sheep from the goats . 33 And He will set
the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
QUESTION: In a major crossroads have you ever
experienced where God has asked you to do something (big
decision) without any confirmations?
ANSWER: It is not safe to make a big decision
without being affirmed by God. His ways are to WAIT
upon Him. It is always wise to wait for God to send
2-3 witnesses of His truth for this is a part of His
standards for truth.
Matt 18:16 NKJV
'by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word
may be established.'
Matt 18:20 NKJV
For where two or three are gathered together in My
name, I am there in the midst of them."
1 Cor 14:28-30 NKJV
Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others
judge.
Deut 19:15-16 NKJV
...by the mouth of two or three witnesses the matter
shall be established.
1 Tim 5:18-20 NKJV
Do not receive an accusation against an elder except
from two or three witnesses. |
