WORD O’ GRAM: ROOT OF BITTERNESS 3/16/09
Rejection,
un-forgiveness, judgment,
Outbursts
of critical words,
Overtake
one’s emotions
To reveal
what is hidden.
Out of
bounds, negative words
Forced
from one’s mouth.
Bitter
waters pour forth,
Infecting
others who will listen.
To
overcome is to repent and renounce the offenses.
To yield
to God the deep disappointment...
Expecting
God will recompense.
Repent of
bitter words,
Never
hold a grudge after sundown.
Earnestly
forgive lest you too are judged.
Speak
what is edifying, or do not speak at all.
Speak
good for evil to overcome all offense.
Heb 12:14-16 NKJV
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without
which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest
anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of
bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many
become defiled.
Rom 3:13-18 NKJV
"Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues
they have practiced deceit"; "The poison of asps is
under their lips"; "Whose mouth is full of cursing
and bitterness ." "Their feet are swift to shed blood;
Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way
of peace they have not known." "There is no fear of God
before their eyes."
Acts 8:20-24 NKJV
But Peter said to him, "Your money perish with you,
because you thought that the gift of God could be
purchased with money! 21 You have neither part nor
portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in
the sight of God. 22 Repent therefore of this your
wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your
heart may be forgiven you. 23 For I see that you are
poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity." 24 Then
Simon answered and said,” Pray to the Lord for me, that
none of the things which you have spoken may come upon
me." |
