I am one that has resisted naps because then I don't sleep
well at night. Recently because I have been having waves of
sleepiness in the late afternoon, I have been taking 30 - 60
minute naps. I am finding this does not affect my sleep at
night!

To actually be at peace enough to listen. I am with
you sweetheart.
I have discovered that I am hearing and seeing what He is
saying and doing during these naps. I remembered Paul Keith
saying that Bob Jones took a nap every day at 3 PM in order
to hear the Lord and he often had trances then at that time.
I was studying Genesis this week and I happened to look up
the word DEEP SLEEP. I was surprised that it meant
trance. This is when God Himself puts us into deep sleep
and ministers to us.

and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

fell upon him.

an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
Isaiah 29:10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the
spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the
prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
Here is a NT scripture about a trance:
Acts 10:10 And he became very hungry, and would have
eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
LINKS TO WORDS ABOUT TRANCES
An interesting night. I wrote this poem in the wee hours as
I struggled to find sleep. As I laid there listening to the
rain, I began to hear these words in my head, so I grabbed
my pen and pad (Lol). I'm not sure if I finally dozed off
for a moment, but I was soon listening to the sound of the
rain for a while then I began to write again on the pad, the
other post. (When Rain Falls).
Falling rain play me a lullaby
So that I can finally close my eyes
And fall into a peaceful sleep
So my Lord may speak to me
I’m sure there are words He wants to say
But first I must get very still
As this flesh of mine takes a nap
My spirit-man thus stays awake
Listening patiently…for my Lord to speak
I’ll awaken feeling all refreshed
Yet as He speaks…He gives total rest.
May we all embrace the new day full of Hope.
WORD TO PONDER: BECOMING PEACEFUL ENOUGH TO LISTEN
8/07/15
Precious there are times when life around you is like
troubled waters. Remember Me when I was in the storm on the
sea of Galilee! I knew in Whom I put My trust. I already
saw the will of My Father, that we were to cross over to the
other side. I allowed His will to carry us and I simply laid
down and slept. Yes sometimes life knocks you out of your
resting place. Stand up, take authority. The troubled
waters around you shall become peaceful and still once
again.
Learn the secret of taking naps. Put time aside. Bring
your body, soul and spirit into a peaceful place so that you
can listen to Me. You will find encouragement and
refreshment as life around you settles and becomes peaceful
in My arms of love.
Mark 4:35-41 And the same day, when the evening was come,
he said unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 36
And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him
just as he was in the ship. And there were also with him
other little ships. 37 And there arose a great storm of
wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now
full. 38 And he was in the rear of the ship, asleep on a
pillow: and they awoke him, and said unto him, Teacher, care
you not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the
wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind
ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto
them, Why are you so fearful? how is it that you have no
faith? 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to
another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and
the sea obey him?
