6/26/18 THE BEGINNING AND THE END
PARABLE: Today as I sat with the Lord for my morning
toast and devotions I saw that it was His Word. I was on
the last of my loaf of bread. I never eat the heels, I
always throw them out. For some strange reason, I decided
to eat the end piece this morning. I bought 2 new loafs
this week and while my heel was toasting, I went to the
freezer to put one out on the counter to unthaw. After
breakfast I turned to this W2P!
THE LAST LOAF
Broken and facing a multitude
of what feels like the whole world’s needs, you may think
you are on your last loaf. Always remember I ask you to
give what you DO have, not what you don’t have. Simply
offer your broken bread to Me, and I will bless it and
multiply it for a great harvest with plenty leftover.
What you
don’t know is that what appears to be your last loaf is
really your first. It is not the end, but the beginning of
new bread from heaven.
What you also have in storage is a double portion of grain.
This grain can be ground into flour for fresh bread.
Rejoice, sit and eat.
Mark 6:38-44 NKJV
But He said to them, “How
many loaves do you have? Go and see.” And when they found
out they said, “Five, and two fish.” Then He commanded them
to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass. So
they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties. And when
He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up
to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves , and gave them to
His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He
divided among them all. So they all ate and were filled. And
they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the
fish. Now those who had eaten the loaves were about five
thousand men.
After reading this W2P and feeling encouraged that I am not
done, but beginning a new season of bread, I went to the www
to find out how to spell heel. This paragraph was so
quickened to me!
FROM WWW: It's true — eaten
as is, the heel certainly doesn't prove as soft and
enjoyable as those middle slices, but that's okay.
Like any good story, a loaf
of bread needs a beginning and an end. The heel of
any loaf of bread does its best work not on its own, but
when transformed or used as an ingredient in other recipes.
Jesus is the beginning and
the end! Everything starts and ends with Him.
Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the end, the first and the last.
CONFIRMATION THE BREAD OF LIFE
After having my toast, I turned with anointed hands to John
6 about Jesus being the Bread of Life!
John 6:31-35 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as
it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. 32
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father
gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of
God is he who comes down from heaven, and gives life unto
the world. 34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give
us this bread. 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread
of life: he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that
believes on me shall never thirst.
QUICKENED PASSAGE – TOILING FOR THE WORKS OF GOD
Jesus challenged them for seeking him only to fill their
stomachs when He wanted to draw them with the miracle. They
understood this by asking what they should do to work the
works of God. Jesus responded that the works of God is to
BELIEVE on Him.
John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do,
that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus
answered and said unto them,
This is the work of God,
that you believe on him whom he has sent.
WORKS
ἔργον érgon, er'-gon
from a primary (but obsolete) ἔργω érgō (to work);
toil (as an effort
or occupation); by implication, an act:—deed, doing, labour,
work.
neuter noun
As I read the meaning of works and the toil it takes to
believe, in my mind’s eye I saw me flapping my wings in
order to be lifted up and fly. Flying represents faith – to
be lifted up above the gravity of circumstances and to be
carried beyond them. Faith is believing in God irregardless
of what we experience with our senses. They were willing to
believe only if their senses experienced what they trusted
in. When we BELIEVE God, no matter the circumstances, we
KNOW He is Sovereign, and has all the details of our lives
working together for good.
Our lives are wrapped up in Him, the Beginning and the End.
What He begins in our lives He will finish and then He
begins again with a new season. Sometimes it makes us feel
insecure when we see the old passing away and haven’t yet
settled into the new season. However when we put our faith
in HIM, we are secure because we know we will never run out
of bread because He is our Bread!
John 6:30-35 They said therefore unto him, What sign do
you show then, that we may see, and believe you? what do you
work? 31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is
written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. 32 Then
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses
gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father gives you
the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he
who comes down from heaven, and gives life unto the world.
34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this
bread. 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life:
he that comes to me shall never hunger; and he that believes
on me shall never thirst.
