THE STRING OF PEARLS 11/14/08
Today as I was eating at my newly
decorated dining table, I was thinking about the parable
that I allow my grandson to touch and experience things
that he is not mature enough to understand their worth
or value. As I was pondering this, I was looking at the
string of pink pearls on our table. They are a pretty
garland that I was using for Christmas decorations.
They might break should he touch them, but what came to
me was this thought:
“Sometimes allowing our kids to
learn from life experiences is more valuable than what
they might break in the process. I love my grandson
more than the pearls.”
The moment I thought this, the Lord
quickened to me the very same parable in His loving joy
when raising us. Sometimes He allows us to touch
kingdom things that we are not mature enough to
appreciate, honor, value or understand. Sometimes we
have dirty hands. Sometimes we are not gentle with what
He deems as precious. Sometimes we are just plain dull
and immature and yet He continues to give us His
precious gifts because He wants us to experience and
learn, and receive pleasure just as a child in his first
delights. My heart was warmed as I finished my lunch
and pondered His wondrous love for His kids.
A couple hours later we pulled up in
a parking lot and as I glanced at the car parked
directly in front of me, I stared at a lovely string of
pearls hanging from the mirror. I smiled, and knew it
was one of those precious God kisses straight to my
heart.
WORD TO PONDER: PEARLS OF GREAT
PRICE
Beloved, when I give you My pearls, I
already know how you will handle them. If you feel you
have made mistakes with what I have imparted into your
life, please release yourself from regret. I AM
intimately acquainted with all of your ways and
sometimes I give you lessons of experience to help you
grow and change. Some lessons are not possible until
you receive hands on training. Yes it is true lessons
learned are pearls of great price. They cost a lot to
give, but they also cost a lot to learn. Always
remember My beloved, that you are much greater worth to
Me than all the pearls.
Matt 19:13-15 NKJV
But Jesus said, "Let the little
children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such
is the kingdom of heaven." And He laid His hands on
them and departed from there.
Matt 7:11-12 NKJV
If you then, being evil, know how
to give good gifts to your children, how much more will
your Father who is in heaven give good things to those
who ask Him! |
