2/20/20 TO SEEK THE LORD ABOVE ALL ELSE

TO UNDERSTAND AND KNOW THE LORD

Today when I opened my printed memorial journal, this scripture leaped out at me so I searched the meaning of understanding and knowing the Lord.

Jer 9:24 But let him that glories glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the LORD.

To understand is our brain, to know is our heart and senses.

·       Knowledge

To understand Him is to search Him with our brains, thoughts, intelligence.  To know Him is to sense Him with our senses.

Eyes - vision and eyes of our heart (imagine)

Ears – His still small voice, hear with our heart

Touch – to feel His Presence, to recognize what is quickened, and what is revealed

Taste – to taste the bread of His Word

Smell – to discern between what is the Lord and what is not

I began thinking about how much time I have spent searching to know and understand Him.  I didn’t realize that even the simplest things I do in searching to know Him is aligning with His objective.

Matthew 11:27 (AMPC) ²⁷ All things have been entrusted and delivered to Me by My Father; and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Son except the Father, and no one fully knows and accurately understands the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son deliberately wills to make Him known.

Matthew 11:27 (NLT) ²⁷ “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

TO BE OR NOT TO BE 5/10/02

Some who have known only a life of work and works, have found their self-worth, their identity and even their calling wrapped up in what they produce.  Oh how I have longed to bring them into a deeper rest in Me!  For those special ones who have yielded, they have come all the way through the door of the cross where they have laid down their works and sat at My feet.  The secret of the kingdom riches is not in what you are, but who you are in Me.  And it is not in what I can do for you, but Who I AM to you.  Do you understand?  There is a secret place of rest by merely abiding in Me.  It contains a great wealth of power, fruit and riches and the only labor required to find it, is to press into Me.
