TORMENTING DEMONS
Many years ago, I tormented demons because I was tired
of the warfare and resistance. I did not do this in
deliverance ministry with people, but rather in my own
personal prayer time when they would oppose my being
able to hear the Lord. Sometimes I heard and saw them as
I did this. It gave me satisfaction that they were being
punished for messing with me, and it also gave me a
greater sense of control over them when they were
rebellious and would not leave. I have since seriously
repented of this practice. I want to share with you what
the Lord taught me.
============
VENGEANCE
Deliverance is an important part of ministry. Jesus did
a healthy balance between teaching, praying, healing and
delivering, and He is our role model for ministry. One
day when He was approaching the man with the legion of
demons, they cried out asking Jesus if He had come to
torment them before their time.
Matt 8:29 NKJV
And suddenly they cried out, saying, "What have we to
do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here
to torment us before the time?"
Jesus had the authority to do so, but He chose NOT to
torment them. Instead, He simply said, "Go!" Jesus
obeyed the scriptures. Scripture says that vengeance
belongs to God, it is not ours. {Deut 32:35; Rom 12:19.
Heb 10:30} Vengeance is punishment. Vengeance in the
Greek means vindication, retribution, retaliation, and
punishment.
============
UNAUTHORIZED AUTHORITY
Jesus did not use the enemy's weapons to overrule them.
The enemy uses intimidation, control, and domination.
The tormenting of demons is using their own hierarchy of
threat and domination in order to control them into
submission. Remember, not all deliverance is authorized
by Him. Even the witch doctors deliver.
Matt 7:22-23 NLT
On judgment day many will tell me, 'Lord, Lord, we
prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name
and performed many miracles in your name.' But I will
reply, 'I never knew you. Go away; the things you did
were unauthorized.'
============
CHANNELING FOR DEMONS
When people are forced to be a channel for demonic
interrogation, it is an unloving, shameful and defiling
thing to do to them. Jesus delivered out of loving
compassion. It is a clear violation of scripture to
violate their will and command demons to speak through
them as channels. {Duet 18:10-12; Lev: 6-7}
There are many NT recordings of Jesus delivering people
from demons. Only in the one case (Mark 5) is there an
instance where He possibly asked the demons their name:
in the man with the legion. It is the opinion of most
scholars that Jesus was NOT speaking to the demons at
all, but rather to the man, and the demons answered
instead. I believe Jesus would not violate scripture to
use a person as a medium. There are several cases where
He commanded the demons to shut up.
============
CHRISTIANS DO NOT PARTNER WITH DEMONS
When a deliverer questions devils in order to gain
knowledge from them, they are partnering with devils
instead of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 16:19 NKJV
For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore
I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in
what is good, and simple concerning evil.
1 Cor 10:19-22 NKJV
Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice
they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not
want you to have fellowship with demons. You cannot
drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you
cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of
demons.
============
DOCTRINES OF DEMONS
To listen to or heed information from demons is to be
seduced by doctrines, or teachings by devils. The
knowledge gained is unauthorized.
1 Tim 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter
times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to
seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
============
THE DEVIL IS THE FATHER OF LIES
There is absolutely no reason to seek the father of lies
for the truth.
John 8:44 NKJV
He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not
stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources,
for he is a liar and the father of it.
============
CHRISTIANS SEEK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO CAST OUT DEVILS
Faith does not come by hearing demons. Faith comes by
hearing God's Word. We seek the Holy Spirit for our
knowledge, discernment, power and authority to cast out
demons.
(Rom 10:17; I Cor 12:8-10; Mark 3;15)
Mark 16:15-18 NKJV
And He said to them, "Go into all the world and
preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and
is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe
will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who
believe: In My name they will cast out demons ; they
will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents;
and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means
hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they
will recover."
========
BINDING KINGS WITH CHAINS AND EXECUTING JUDGMENT
When Jesus was on earth, He gave us authority to bind
demons and loose people, but He did not give us
authority to execute judgment and vengeance. Many quote
the following scripture to validate executing judgment
upon demons and principalities. This is a prophetic
scripture of promise that is quoted 3 times.
Ps 149:5-9 NKJV
Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing
aloud on their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be
in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, 7
To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on
the peoples; 8 To bind their kings with chains, And
their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute on them
the written judgment - This honor have all His saints.
Praise the Lord!
It is clear that this honor (majesty, glory and
splendor) is given at the time Jesus comes back with His
saints. Jude states WHEN this takes place. We are told
to judge nothing before its time.
Jude 14-15 NKJV
Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about
these men also, saying,
"Behold, the Lord comes
with ten thousands of His saints, 15 to execute judgment
on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all
their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an
ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly
sinners have spoken against Him."
1 Cor 4:5 NKJV
Therefore judge
nothing before the time, until the Lord comes,
who will both bring to light the hidden things of
darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then
each one's praise will come from God.
John 5:24-30
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word
and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life,
and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from
death into life. 25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the
hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the
voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.
26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has
granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has
given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He
is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for the
hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will
hear His voice 29 and come forth — those who have done
good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have
done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 30 I
can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My
judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will
but the will of the Father who sent Me.
The book of Enoch was quoted in the Bible and was
accepted writings by the 1st century church. The
following passage speaks of executing judgment upon the
saints, when Jesus comes back.
Enoch 1:9 And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of
⌈His⌉
holy ones to execute judgement upon all, and to destroy
⌈all⌉
the ungodly.
ENOCH CHAPTER ONE
1. The words of the blessing of Enoch, wherewith he
blessed the elect
⌈⌈and⌉⌉
righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation,
when all the wicked
⌈⌈and
godless⌉⌉
are to be removed. 2. And he took up his parable and
said--Enoch a righteous man, whose eyes were opened by
God, saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens,
⌈which⌉
the angels showed me, and from them I heard everything,
and from them I understood as I saw, but not for this
generation, but for a remote one which is for to come.
3. Concerning the elect I said, and took up my parable
concerning them:
The Holy Great One will come forth from His dwelling,
4. And the eternal God will tread upon the earth, (even)
on Mount Sinai,
⌈And
appear from His camp⌉
And appear in the strength of His might from the heaven
of heavens.
5. And all shall be smitten with fear
And the Watchers shall quake,
And great fear and trembling shall seize them unto the
ends of the earth.
6. And the high mountains shall be shaken,
And the high hills shall be made low,
And shall melt like wax before the flame
p. 32
7. And the earth shall be
⌈wholly⌉
rent in sunder,
And all that is upon the earth shall perish,
And there shall be a judgement upon all (men).
8. But with the righteous He will make peace.
And will protect the elect,
And mercy shall be upon them.
And they shall all belong to God,
And they shall be prospered,
And they shall
⌈all⌉
be blessed.
⌈And
He will help them all⌉,
And light shall appear unto them,
⌈And
He will make peace with them⌉.
9. And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of
⌈His⌉
holy ones
To execute judgement upon all,
And to destroy
⌈all⌉
the ungodly:
And to convict all flesh
Of all the works
⌈of
their ungodliness⌉
which they have ungodly committed,
And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners
⌈have
spoken⌉
against Him.
WORD TO PONDER: AVENGE NOT THE DEMONIC WORLD 6/16/05
Vengeance is Mine, it belongs to Me. I am the Judge Who
renders punishment to the wicked. Beloved, do not
avenge yourselves, but rather give Me this place, for I
have written, Vengeance is Mine, and I will repay. Do
not torment demons. Do not punish principalities.
There will come a time when I will give My saints a two
edged sword which will execute vengeance and the
judgment written. I will honor them with the power to
punish all demonic disobedience. Even now your weapons
are not of flesh against flesh, but mighty to the
pulling down of strongholds. The demonic is strong in
its rebellions against Me. Bind them and loose
yourselves and stand strong against them and bring every
thought into obedience to Me. Even so My Beloved ones,
it is not yet time to punish all disobedience. Your
obedience is not yet fulfilled. To do so is presumption
and folly and opens doors of persecution into your own
life. You reap what you sow.
2 Cor 10:4-6 NKJV
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but
mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down
arguments and every high thing that exalts itself
against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought
into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being
ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is
fulfilled.
