2/28/08 TRUE REPENTANCE
HEARD: I see you going over the same circle
again and again. Squeeze later, as that junction really
hurts. At the foot of the cross. Dont leave me now.
Create in me a new heart.
Ps 51:9-11 NKJV
Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my
iniquities. Create in me a clean heart , O God, and
renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away
from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit
from me.
PIX: I saw an empty cage made out of dried
grape vines that was the shape of a human heart with
valves, etc.
HEARD: David. His rightful position was
restored to him.
Ps 51:17 NKJV
Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your
lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your
tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me
thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my
sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin
is always before me. 4 Against You, You only, have I
sinned, And done this evil in Your sight — That You may
be found just when You speak, And blameless when You
judge. 5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And
in sin my mother conceived me. 6 Behold, You desire
truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You
will make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash
me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me hear joy
and gladness, That the bones You have broken may
rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all
my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart , O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast
me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy
Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your
salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. 13
Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners
shall be converted to You. 14 Deliver me from the
guilt of bloodshed, O God, The God of my salvation, And
my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. 15 O
Lord, open my lips, And my mouth shall show forth Your
praise. 16 For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I
would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. 17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and
a contrite heart — These, O God, You will not despise.
WORD TO PONDER: TRUE REPENTANCE 2/28/08
Beloved child, it grieves Me so deeply when you sin the
same pattern over and over again throughout your years.
I have disciplined you, allowed you to reap seeds you
sow, and you are still choosing sin. I understand your
upbringing, your needs, all of your pain. I also
understand how difficult it is for you to face these
issues and not run from My intense gaze. Never give
allowance or an excuse for your sin, thus allowing scar
tissue to build up between us. Shame is not repentance.
Guilt is not repentance. Condemnation is not repentance.
Suffering gross darkness and oppression is not penance.
Giving up hope for change is not repentance.
Passionate, godly sorrow produces repentance. True
repentance is offering your broken heart with tears as
the sign of the great agony in your flesh in utterly
failing Me, yourself and others. Beloved, I will not
scorn you when you are so deeply broken. Cry out to Me
to give you that new heart and let My love change you.
When you have a new and repentant heart, you will do
everything you can to make things right, for you will
not want even one tiny thing between us.
Remember David, who had one of the highest anointings
and authority in the land. He abused his authority by
covet, pornography, lust, adultery, lying, and murder.
He paid dearly for his sins and learned to fear Me. He
did suffer a genuine broken heart and knew My discipline
of losing My intimate Presence. In that discipline he
matured to the place that he wanted My Presence more
than he wanted sin. Beloved the only way to crucify
your flesh is through loving Me more.
2 Cor 7:10 NLT
Just see what this godly sorrow produced in you! ....
You showed that you have done everything you could to
make things right.
2 Cor 7:8-12 NKJV
Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that
your sorrow led to repentance . For you were made sorry
in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in
nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to
salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the
world produces death. For observe this very thing, that
you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it
produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what
indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal,
what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to
be clear in this matter.
Ps 51:17 AMP
My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a
broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken
down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly
penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.
Heb 12:3-4 NKJV
For consider Him who endured such hostility from
sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and
discouraged in your souls. 4 You have not yet resisted
to bloodshed, striving against sin.
Heb 12:11 NKJV
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present,
but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the
peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been
trained by it. |
