UP AND “AT EM” 11/26/09
I taught our grandson to use a small plastic stepstool
to climb into his chairs, whether it be at the table or
into his car seat in the car, because I can’t lift him.
He is a little over one year older than our
granddaughter who has silently been watching him all
this time. She has now learned how to walk. Today, she
saw her brother on top of Grammy’s bed and she started
jabbering syllables a mile a minute as she was running
down the hall as fast as she could. I barely got out
the door to see what she was up to. She came running
back with the little blue stepstool. She stopped right
in front of my bed and put the stepstool on top of the
mattress and then lifted her leg as far as she could and
just couldn’t get it to the stool...
It was SO darling to see her do this! It only took a
couple of seconds and she figured it out and pulled the
stool down onto the floor and stepped up. I laughed
with delight at her discovery.
Later, she wanted a snack and so I put the stool down in
front of her high chair. She knows if she at least
tries, Grammy will put her hand underneath her bottom to
stabilize her. I don’t push or pull her up, she does
all the work, but my hand is there for her to rest or
recollect herself to get all the way to the top.
As I was thinking how precious her stepstool experience
was, I saw a picture of my hand steadying her climb and
I realized it was a Word of the Lord to me.
WORD TO PONDER: A STABILIZING HAND 11/26/09
Beloved one, when others are making their journey and
climbing the hill of the Lord, I have given you as My
gift for reassurance, comfort and encouragement. You
are a helping hand and a resting place while they
recollect themselves to move up.
Sometimes they will look to you for help in areas where
I have not given you grace. This is because they are
supposed to be looking up to Me, and then I will send
them help that is fitting. Do not feel the pressure of
man’s expectation upon your soul. You can not pull them
up, you can not push them up. I simply have not given
you the power to help them from your own soul or flesh.
It is only through My Spirit that your steadying hand
will bring good fruit into their lives. So relax and
let Me do My perfect work through you.
Rev 4:1 NKJV
“… the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet
speaking with me, saying, "Come up here,…”
Gal 3:3-4 NKJV
Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made
perfect by the flesh? |
