NOT KNOWING THE VIRGINS WITHOUT LIGHT  6/06/12

All 10 were virgins = Christians

All 10 HAD their light = Christians

5 lost their light and Jesus said I do not know you.  (Notice He didn’t say depart from Me as in losing of salvation.)  When I looked up the word “know” in the Englishmans, the list of verses all said either know or see.

Matt 25:6-12 KJV

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know {# 1492} you not.

NT:1492  TO SEE/ KNOW

eido (i'-do); a primary verb; used only in certain past tenses, the others being borrowed from the equivalent NT:3700 and NT:3708; properly, to see (literally or figuratively); by implication (in the perf. only) to know:

KJV - be aware, behold,  can (+not tell), consider, (have) know (-ledge), look (on), perceive, see, be sure, tell, understand, wish, wot. Compare NT:3700.

NT:4570 GONE OUT

sbennumi (sben'-noo-mee); a prolonged form of an apparently primary verb; to extinguish (literally or figuratively):

KJV - go out, quench.

Most of the translations say that their light was going out, but in the original it says their light has gone out and is extinguished.  They lost their light.

REVELATION:  I always thought that the word “know” in this verse was related to bridal intimacy.  But it is not that word at all.  It means to see.  This word is used 651 times in the NT and they are translated to see and to know.  They are used in context to literally seeing someone or something.

As I was pondering this, you cant see someone in the dark, unless they have light.  If it is gross darkness and the virgin does not have her lamp, she is not baring light and you cant see her!

John 12:35-36 NKJV

Then Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know {# 1492} where he is going.  36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light." These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.

We are commissioned to bare light in the gross darkness.  I believe with all my heart for those with extra oil, this is a literal light, just as when Peter cast light and people were healed when his shadow passed by.  This is the fulfillment of the Daystar rising within us.

Matt 5:14-16 NKJV

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Isa 60:3

The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.

2 Peter 1:17-21   THE MT OF TRANSFIGURATION

For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." 18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. 19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

WORD TO PONDER:  LITERAL LIGHT AND LITERAL DARKNESS 6/25/11

When I was on the mountain with Moses and Elijah, My face gave forth light rays like the sun. Before Stephen was stoned, as he was testifying of Me, he literally shone with God's glory on his face. When Peter's shadow cast over people, they were healed. Peter literally had light coming out of him casting a real shadow. When Moses came down from the Mt, his face shone and literally cast light.

In the days of gross darkness, My sent ones will literally shine as literal lights when they testify of Me. Wherever they go, they will bring literal light, hope and peace. They will be transported in and out of crowds, walking through walls as I did after I arose. They will minister great hope and comfort that I have not forsaken those who are depending upon Me during a time of gross darkness.

Matt 17:2 NKJV

He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.

Acts 6:15 NLT

At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face became as bright as an angel's.

Ex 34:30 NKJV

So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.

Acts 12:7-8 NKJV

Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, "Arise quickly!" And his chains fell off his hands.

Luke 2:8-11 NKJV

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

Num 6:25-26 NKJV

The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.
