WHY THE LORD PASSES SOME BY
5/02/10
HEARD: There is a
river. The answer is no.
QUICKENED MEMORY: The Lord
reminded me that a few days ago I heard an almost
audible voice say, “WHY?” It was a profound question
that really impacted me. I understood it was some how
related to a question I had about why the Lord passes
some people by.
Today, as I was praying about this,
I turned to the following:
ANNIE’S
VISION: THE BROKEN POOL, Book 4
“In vision
I saw a large number of pools, all beautifully tiled and
filled with the water of God. All of them, save one,
were whole and without any cracks or breaks at all.
This one, was completely different from the rest: it had
a large, crooked, jagged break or rent which looked like
an open crack running almost all the way through it. In
spite of this jagged crack, this broken pool was
completely filled with the water of God, fresh,
beautiful and filled with light and life. Through the
crack, these waters continually poured out;
nevertheless, from some unseen source they were
continually being renewed and did not diminish at all.
The water
of God also filled all the other pools which had no
cracks or breaks in them, but because it had not flowed
out, it had become stagnant and spoiled, and was no
longer attractive. No more living water had flowed into
these unbroken pools.
Afterwards, I saw a large multitude of people come to
drink at the place where the water poured forth from the
broken pool, but they could not reach it. Even though
these waters greatly attracted them and they desired to
partake of this water flowing in light and life, they
could not receive one single drop because this water
poured forth in abundance as if directed to another
place. It flowed directly to another people as if
intended for them, and they were given all they desired
to drink.

1. FAMILIARITY
Matt
13:53-58 NKJV
Now it
came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables,
that He departed from there. 54 When He had come to His
own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that
they were astonished and said, "Where did this Man get
this wisdom and these mighty works? 55 Is this not the
carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His
brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? 56 And His
sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this
Man get all these things?" 57 So they were offended at
Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without
honor except in his own country and in his own house."
58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because
of their unbelief.
2. OFFENDED AT HUMANITY
They started going through this
reasoning, and they were offended at Him and that
offense shut down their capacity to receive from Him.
There is something in the minds of men that can shut
down that atmosphere. This is the Son of God, the
Spirit of God is upon Him without measure, unlimited!
3. NOT GIVING HONORING
Matt
10:40-41 NKJV
"He who
receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me
receives Him who sent Me. 41 He who receives a
prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a
prophet's reward . And he who receives a righteous
man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a
righteous man's reward.
Luke
4:23-27 NKJV
He said
to them, "You will surely say this proverb to Me,
'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done
in Capernaum, do also here in Your country.'" 24 Then
He said, "Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is
accepted in his own country. 25 But I tell you
truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah,
when the heaven was shut up three years and six months,
and there was a great famine throughout all the land;
26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to
Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a
widow. 27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of
Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except
Naaman the Syrian."
Mark
6:4-6 NKJV
But
Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor
except in his own country, among his own relatives, and
in his own house." 5 Now He could do no mighty work
there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick
people and healed them. 6 And He marveled because of
their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a
circuit, teaching.
“He took the prophet (Elijah) away
from his home because the familiarity of the prophet
made them incapable of receiving the prophet’s reward.
There was a lot of hungry people inside the nation, but
He sent Elijah outside the nation because God wanted to
give it to someone. Why did he have to go outside?
Because if you honor a prophet in the name of a
prophet, that’s what gives you access to their reward.
It’s the person next to you that
the Spirit of God rests upon so powerfully that, it is
sometimes hard to draw upon the grace that rests upon
their life. We have been called by the Lord to
recognize one another after the Spirit. The spirit
of discernment is not just discerning the demonic
realm. It is recognizing the Spirit of God on the
spirit of a man. It is recognizing the quality and
character of a man.
Do you know what it is to give
honor? It is to recognize the glory that rests upon
another. To recognize a friend of God. Someone God
has visited, has empowered. It’s not that I know people
by their blemishes, their faults and failures, their
history, their quirks, idiosyncrasies. It’s the fact
that I have been put into the position that if I do
not honor the person for the Spirit of God that rests
upon them, I can not benefit from what they bring to the
table.
A culture of honor values who a
person is, without stumbling over who they are not.
Many people have cried out for God to do something in
your life and He sent it to you. But He sent it to you
in a frail, blemished vessel. And with the inability
to recognize the Spirit of God upon another person
that’s been within arm’s reach, but you are starving and
famine so to speak. And there is a feast within arm’s
reach. It is a culture of honor that recognize the
Spirit of God on another person that helps us to learn
how to humble ourselves, even to someone much younger in
the Lord than we are, so that they might impart
something into us and prayer for us.
Learning how to value people, the
gifts that they are given, and the Spirit of God that
rests upon them is one of the absolute keys for creating
an atmosphere where miracles become normal...” {END
