YOU CAN
LEAD A HORSE TO WATER BUT YOU CANT MAKE HIM DRINK
3/31/01
VISION:
I saw the ruling demon over the famine of hearing the
words of the Lord. I have seen him many times over the
years and battled him at different levels. In this
particular vision he was standing at the end of a school
hallway where the only choice in moving forward was to
turn and walk to the left or to the right. I understood
that the only choice to avoid captivity was to turn to
the right, which meant the right way or the way of
righteous living. The school represented training, where
we learn how to follow our conscience in obedience to
the Lord. This ruling demon could not touch those who
turned down the right path.
Amos
8:11-12 NKJV
"Behold,
the days are coming," says the Lord GOD, "That I will
send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a
thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. They
shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD,
but shall not find it.
HEARD:
Don't argue. Corrected. Change is inevitable. Horse.
It's all in the defensive. Opinions.
PIX: I saw a picture of the wild kicking, black
stallion. He was
raised up on his back legs.
IMPRESSION: I am to set my forehead like flint against
those who kick against His Word.
Isa
50:4-9 NKJV
"The
Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I
should know how to speak A word in season to him who is
weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My
ear To hear as the learned. The Lord GOD has opened My
ear; And I was not rebellious, Nor did I turn away. I
gave My back to those who struck Me, And My cheeks to
those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face
from shame and spitting. "For the Lord GOD will help Me;
Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set
My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be
ashamed. He is near who justifies Me; Who will contend
with Me? Let us stand together. Who is My adversary? Let
him come near Me. Surely the Lord GOD will help Me; Who
is he who will condemn Me?
REVELATION: As I was thinking about this, I turned with
anointed hands to the following verse and I had the
sudden connecting download of revelation that when we
have strongholds or opinions in our minds, it fortifies
us like castles against hearing His voice. He is
penetrating our castles so we can breakthrough and hear
Him! He is doing this with His love!
Isa
50:4-5 NKJV
He
awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to hear
as the learned. The Lord GOD has opened My ear; And I
was not rebellious, nor did I turn away.
ROADBLOCK TO HEARING MY VOICE
You cry
to Me to hear My voice, to open your ears, to open your
eyes, to break the famine of hearing, yet the strong
holds in your mind kick strongly against My messages and
in particular against My chosen messengers. The
rebellion of your opinions about them have fortified
your heart from receiving the voice of My Word and My
ways. I have purposely sent these weakest of vessels to
you. How are they weak? They live the crucified life and
have been given great authority. Yet, these rely upon
Me, their beloved, to help them pull down the
strongholds. They do not seek their own way or agenda,
but they bow low to please Me. The traits of My weak
ones, are the same traits which will be My strongest
weapons in your life to pull down your own mind-sets and
opinions.
I will
keep on sending these messengers with the same messages
because of My love for you. Even though you kick against
the pricks like a strong and mighty wild stallion, and
in spite of your constantly turning them away, they will
keep on coming. For I have fortified them with foreheads
set as flint and they shall remain relentless until you
finally understand. I long to embrace and answer your
prayers, but the strongholds in your opinions must fall
first. Love will find a way to penetrate the walls you
have fortified around your heart. Love will find a way.
Isa
50:4-5 NKJV
He
awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to hear
as the learned. The Lord GOD has opened My ear; And I
was not rebellious, nor did I turn away

QUICKENED VISION: Someone sent me the following vision
while she was being prayed over. She wanted an
interpretation.
VISION:
She saw Little Bo Peep holding a Staff with the words,
"Little Bo Peep, has
lost her
sheep and can't tell where to find them. Leave them
alone, and they'll come home, bringing their tails
behind them." The friend said she didn't see any sheep,
but the emphasis was on the staff.
INTERP:
The missing sheep are the prodigal children who do not
have a shepherd, a father image, a nurturing role model
to grant them the comfort and protection of a rod and a
staff. The staff represents not only nurturing care, but
the manna, the bread of life and protection. It also
represents leadership authority as in a scepter. It can
be used as correction when we need it. The Father has
allowed these prodigals to go into a famine of hearing
so they will suddenly be awakened to their need to
return to their roots in Him.
QUICKENED LINE ON SONG: (From Don Potter) You can not
stay outside the camp and live.
ANOINTED
HANDS WORD TO PONDER: TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF 3/31/97
Long I have waited for My people to hunger for My Words.
I have so much to give them. I wait patiently for them
to hunger and thirst after Me. There is coming a day
when there will be the changing of the season, and a
rapid change of hearts. They shall search to and fro for
a Word from Me. "And they shall wander from sea to sea,
and from the north even to the east, they shall run to
and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find
it." My Words will only come through My messengers.
Matthew
23:39 NRS
For I
tell you, you will not see me again until you say,
'Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord."

CONFIRMATIONS: After I had received this rhema about the
wild horses and the revelation that they were the
prodigals, someone wrote me about her prodigal husband.
I wrote back and said, "You can lead a horse to water,
but you can't make him drink." She wrote back in
astonishment because she had been saying that for years
about him. Within the next few days, another lady wrote
in her email, "You can lead a horse to water but you
can't make him drink." I was convinced that the wild
kicking stallions were being sent into a famine of
hearing God and they would grow very thirsty for Him.
WORD TO
PONDER: DO NOT PUSH, ONLY INVITE
5/6/97
When you
are wanting to join with others, and giving them an
invitation to do so, remember you can lead a horse to
water but you can't make him drink. If you push him and
he is not thirsty, then what would have nourished and
strengthened him might cause the horse to bolt and run
away and be left in bondage. Learn your lesson in this
and do not push, merely recommend. That is all you can
do, and that is all I do, for I honor the will of
mankind. I know how to make them thirsty for Me. It does
take time, but I AM patient.
"Behold,
the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a
famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst
for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And
they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north
even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the
word of the LORD, and shall not find it." (Amos 8:11-12
KJV)
UPDATE POEM: TO LEAD A HORSE TO WATER 3/31/05
You can lead a horse to water
But you cant make him drink.
Mind-sets keep him bound
In everything that he thinks.
He can bow low and smell the cup,
Doubting what’s there for him to sup.
But it is not until he thirsts
That he will know what it is worth.
So draw those horses to passion
Drying them out in due fashion.
To roads of famine they will walk
Becoming willing to hear Him talk.
John 4:10 NKJV
Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift
of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a
drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have
given you living water."
