Memories of yesterday. Today my Sonshine showed his
sweetheart the purchased video of his highschool
graduation. I could hear the choir sing, "Bridge Over
Troubled Waters." I remember being deeply touched by
that song, knowing it was a Word from the Lord to our
hearts. As I glanced at the video, I was amazed that the
camera man had scanned the audience during that song and
there was Grandma Anna, myself and Wayne sitting near
the back row in the 3 tiered opera house. This was not a
wide angle view, but a short close up view. There we
were on camera, with the choir singing that song! It was
quickened to me to back the tape and listen to the
actual words that were being sung at that time. I knew
they would be significant:
"Like a bridge over troubled water. I will lay me
down. Sail on silver girl. Sail on by. Your time has
come to shine." My heart filled with tears as the Lord
once again filled me with His Words of comfort. What
memories!
This particular graduating class was a very special
one, and the families in the audience knew this, along
with everyone there. You could feel the ache in people’s
heart. These were the youth who had been directly
touched by the school shooting. At Baccalaureate, they
had spoken of this tragedy and the pastor said they were
all survivors. Then he quoted the verse, "For I give you
a future and a hope." Sonshine immediately looked up at
me in the bleachers and smiled. I had written that Word
from the Lord in his graduation card that morning.
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord.
"They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a
future and a hope." (Jer 29:11 TLB)
As the song, "A Bridge Over Troubled Waters" was
still playing on the video, I remembered the Words the
Lord gave us that day. During the song, Grandma Anna had
been thinking about Generation X and then saw a vision
of the letter X, turning around into a cross. This was
the same song that Wayne graduated to 28 years
previously, also from the same school. It was one of my
most favorite songs as a teen. As I scanned the audience
that day, I was thinking about how so many lives, old
and young, had been directly affected by this shooting.
I heard the Lord tell me that I was graduating too. It
brought tears to my eyes.
I know that this whole drama was a prophetic sign
over 3 generations. Our youth will graduate over
turbulent waters, with the two previous generations
being like a bridge of intercession, because Jesus has
been our bridge. We are graduating too, because we have
waited at the bridge - to inherit our own promises with
our youth. And even though satan desires to X them out,
they will be re-labeled by Jesus Christ, Who overcame
the power of death at His cross.

THE SONG, BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS
I'll be your bridge over troubled water
When you’re down, when you’re down.
I will carry you like a bridge over troubled water,
I will lay me down.
When your weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes.
I will dry them all, I’m on your side.
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found.
Like a bridge over troubled water,
I will lay me down.
When you’re down and out
When you’re on the street
When evening falls so hard, I will comfort you.
I'll take your part oh when darkness comes
And pain is all around, like a bridge over troubled
water
I will lay me down like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Sail on silver girl, sail on by,
Your time has come to shine,
All your dreams are on their way'
See how they shine
Oh if you ever need a Friend,
Look around I'm sailing right beside,
Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your
mind,
Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your
mind,
I'll be your bridge or' troubled water when you’re
down
I will carry you like a bridge or troubled water I
will lay
I will lay me down, lay me down.

{Words to Ponder are summaries of His quickened Words
of prophetic revelation, punched with the word of wisdom
and written under inspiration.}
WORD TO PONDER: I WILL BE YOUR BRIDGE
To My children. Though you have seen blood at your
feet and witnessed the fragility of life, know that I AM
there with you, to be your bridge. I laid My life down
for you that you may live.
I have built a bridge over your troubled waters. Rise
above the dark and gloomy times. For even as the bridge
is separated from the turbulence, so do I separate the
light from the foreboding darkness. Rise up into Me, for
I will deliver you. The world grows dark with troubled
waters, yet your time has come to shine. I will carry
you safely across the gulf of storms and you will see
the light of day break forth into glorious rays of hope
and life.
"For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and
deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over
you, and His glory will be seen upon you." (Isa 60:2
NKJV)
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord.
"They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a
future and a hope." (Jer 29:11 TLB)
