AS THE DEER PANTS
SANDY RHEMA
I look back to the year after I
graduated from high school as the hardest year of my
life. I had a very hard time adjusting to change and
spent a great deal of time wrapped in miserable thoughts
and emotions. That year, I also felt the plunder of my
own personal compromise with giants of sin and wrestled
to overcome them. It was during that time that I
experienced a wonderful comfort singing Psalms to the
Lord. My most favorite was singing Psalms 42. When I
sang my heartache to the Lord, it blew away the torment
I felt and also brought me into comforting intimacy with
Him.
Ps 42:1-5 NKJV
As the deer pants for the water
brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts
for God, for the living God. When shall I come and
appear before God? My tears have been my food day and
night, while they continually say to me, "Where is your
God?" When I remember these things, I pour out my soul
within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went
with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and
praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. Why
are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted
within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for
the help of His countenance.

SANDY RHEMA
I slept poorly last night and am
resting this afternoon.
NAP TIME HEARD: Daughter, I love
you. I will strengthen you. My beloved.
VISION: I saw a beautiful doe
sitting down in peace.
HEARD: It’s you.
SONG IMPRESSION: Then I remembered
the words to the song: "As the deer pants for the water,
so my heart pants after You."
VISION: I saw an angel get into the
back seat behind the driver’s seat of our car. He was
crammed into the car and way too big for it! He was long
and lean, with well toned muscular legs. The car door
was still open and I saw him duck back under the car
roof and lean out of the car in order to give me the
most beautiful smile.
HEARD: I am here to help you.
Strength.
[I was so touched that the Lord
understood my weariness and had sent an angel of
strength to strengthen me. Just that smile alone was
enough to see how much the Lord loves us. I was so
encouraged. I also thought of a beautiful deer laying
among the green grass in peace. In the 23rd Psalm, it
says He makes me lie down in green pasture and leads me
beside still waters. Many animals will not lie down if
they are agitated with unrest.]

GRANDMA ANNA RHEMA
EXPERIENCE: I had just finished
reading some past rhema and scripture (Psalm. 42) about
a deer. I closed down the computer to go to lunch. As I
was driving, suddenly out of no where appeared a young
buck racing along side of me on the drivers side of the
road. I could have reached out and touched him. I must
have been going 35 miles an hour. I could scarcely
believe my eyes. I knew it was a sign to me. I slowed
down and the deer still kept pace with me. When I got to
the corner, it crossed in front of me and went under the
underpass and up the hill.
I am so humbled by His communing
with me in such an obvious way. How I love Him. It was
His way of encouraging Sandy and myself in our current
circumstances.

{Words to Ponder are summaries of
His quickened Words}
WORD TO PONDER: DEEPER YEARNINGS
My Beloved, the one who pants for
Me! How I love your deep yearnings for Me. Take the
effort to nurture your thought life with creativity
birthed from My Spirit. Use discipline to turn from
thoughts not edifying. Bring all into obedience and
quiet yourself before Me.
There are seasons and times when I
draw close to My people. I want to draw closer to you
and will place within you My yearning to draw closer to
Me. If you give heed to My gentle call, we will be given
many precious bursts of life together in a new and
meaningful way. I await your response, dear one.
Ps 42:1-2 NLT
As the deer pants for streams of
water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the
living God. When can I come and stand before him?
