The information in this book is not meant to teach a certain doctrine or
formula for successful deliverance. Rather, these notes were compiled to
help those who are not familiar with the area of deliverance to gain a good
handle in understanding the various aspects of the field. Sometimes when
we enter a field in which we have no experience, it helps to know what to
expect or at least to know enough to be able to recognize what is going on.
It is my opinion that since the early church, there have been seasons when
the church as a whole has not experienced the power and authority of God.
As a result, deliverers discovered extra tools to help deliver people and
these have been adopted by others. These discoveries are helpful revelations,
especially in the area of inner healing. However I believe that deliverance
is and should be SIMPLE. Whether a person needs deliverance or whether they
want to be used in deliverance, the one thing they DO need is the NAME OF
JESUS. There is a day soon coming when God is going to pour forth a tremendous
power upon us and the simplicity in which Jesus and His disciples did deliverance
will once again be embraced by the last days church.
You will find most of these extra tools explained in the section called demonic
doors. There is a difference between using the tools to gain deliverance
vs to keep a deliverance. My tendency is to lean towards using these truths
to KEEP a deliverance. However in what ever manner these tools are used,
these discoveries are most definitely demonic doors that need our recognition
and education.
DELIVERANCE IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR SELF
CONTROL
There is a common misconception in people who are desperate enough to seek
out deliverance. People have a tendency to think that they will no longer
have to deal with sin issues, or they will no longer feel bad, etc. Part
of the reason that desperate people think that deliverance is their answer,
is not only because their own human wills are weak and unable to resist sin,
but they want a substitute for self control so they do not have to be accountable
and in control of their own appetites. Yes, they have weak wills and lack
self control because they are demonized, but they do not understand they
will have to apply their will to keep the demons out once expelled until
the demons are totally convinced they are serious. Sin opens the demonic
doors and gives them access to come right back in. Therefore a certain amount
of determination, strength of will and maturity needs to be appropriated
before they are delivered. That determination is directly related to their
love for the Lord and their desire to obey Him and no longer sin.
This is what deliverance accomplishes:
1) Deliverance gives a person the ability to say no to sin and obey God.
2) Deliverance gives a person their free will back to be able to make decisions
without a driving pressure to sin.
3) Deliverance gives a person the freedom to choose their emotions.
4) Deliverance gives a person the freedom to choose their appetites.
5) Deliverance gives a person the freedom to accept truth.
6) Deliverance gives a person the freedom to have self control.
DELIVERANCE IS NOT LEARNED BEHAVIORS
Some people think that deliverance is supposed to be an instant cure for
social and mental skills. This can be true for people who have children who
are mentally and physically handicapped There are learned behaviors that
are deeply etched in any demonized person, and these have to be either unlearned,
or relearned. This takes time and effort. For instance if a deaf person suddenly
hears, they have to learn how to apply reference points to the sounds they
are now hearing, and learn how to speak a new language. Drug addicts usually
stop maturing at the age they started taking drugs. They still have to go
through the normal maturation process. This is true of anyone who gains
deliverance. They need time to resist the old life, old ways, old mind sets,
old patterns, and develop new godly ways.
AUTHORITY VS POWER: DELIVERANCE IS NOT A CURE
Part of the reason people think that deliverance is a cure, is that they
do not understand there is a difference between authority and power. There
are many scriptures that say Jesus went about with great authority and power.
When He sent out the disciples, He gave them both power and authority. These
are not the same.
There is a section about these two gifts in this book. Authority is delegated
influence over demons… to cast them out. Power is the capability to
heal the body. So in understanding there is a difference between these two
words, a person who has just ministered deliverance to someone may not have
ministered healing. A person who is sick may still be sick and need a miracle.
A child who was just delivered from mental illness may still be left handicapped.
Or a handicapped person may be instantly healed, and yet still have demons
inside that drive them to inappropriate behavior.
It is my prayer that as you delve into studying about deliverance, that the
Lord keep your focus upon Him and that He brings the truths that are recorded
in this book into memory as they are needed. May the Lord anoint you with
His authority to cast out demons and His power to heal their wounds in Jesus
Name.

The Lord’s river is increasing and moving from ankle deep to knee deep.
As a result, His Presence will increase in our meetings. As His Presence
increases, the demons will begin to cry out and there are many on ministry
teams today that are not prepared to act in deliverance.
This contains information for both the ministry team that ministers in services
as well as information to develop a specialized deliverance team that operates
outside of the public service, usually in an appointment format.
> TO INCORPORATE IT AS A PART OF
MINISTRY
Our objective is to flow with the Holy Spirit and have Him govern our ministry
time. Consequently, when He causes the darkness to manifest then we know
the time for deliverance ministry has come.
1 John 3:8 For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might
destroy the works of the devil.
Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name
shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall
take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them;
they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

These notes include the meat of what most full time deliverers incorporate
into their sessions. The purpose in sharing this is to be exposed to and
become familiar with the concepts.
This information was originally created as a class to help prepare a ministry
team for the basics of deliverance. However, it is very thorough and much
greater than the basics. It actually covers what many full time deliverers
know and use in their ministries. This thoroughness is not meant to overwhelm
the beginner, but to establish some kind of boundaries so the beginner will
feel more comfortable going into "unknown territory." In teaching this class,
I found that people’s responses were very encouraging. Since they knew
deliverance assistance was going to be needed soon in our meetings, this
helped them feel more settled and secure in approaching it.
> TO DEVELOP A TEAM APPROACH TO
DELIVERANCE
As members of a team:
1. We can be united in our common knowledge and understanding.
2. We can determine what our personal gifts are in the area of deliverance.
3. We can then determine at the time of each deliverance how to proceed.
4. We can then determine at what level the person needs deliverance, now
or after counseling or both.
We will be very dependent upon the Holy Spirit for any deliverance. In our
initial beginnings of learning the deliverance ministry, we will not be
personally delivering people unless they are stuck in a demonic manifestation
and they need our individual help. Therefore it is up to us to be aware of
when a deliverance is going on and be able to help when necessary."
When we feel more comfortable in deliverance, and we individually recognize
the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we will be extending our individual authority
to deal with demons that are not necessarily manifesting their presence.
This can involve our discerning demons that are either in people or just
oppressing people.
The Holy Spirit gives us deliverance guidance through His gifts:

> EXPERIENCING TANGIBLE DEMONIC
PRESENCE
People who discern that demons are present (in the person or in the room)
may experience the following:

Some deliverers interrogate or question demons for information. This is
definitely NOT recommended. The following is quoted from Frank Hammond’s
book, "Demons & Deliverance in the Ministry of Jesus."
We should follow the example of Jesus. Demons were willing to speak but Jesus
told them to be silent.
Conversing with demons is not necessary for a person’s deliverance.
Jesus cast them out without doing so.
Demons come from the father of lies.
God is a jealous God and we must not look to any other spirit for knowledge.
Depending upon demons for information, discourages depending upon the gifts
of His Spirit.
We have access to all truth through the Holy Spirit.
Relying on demons allows them to direct the ministry.
Demons do not produce faith. The Bible does not say faith comes by hearing
demons.
It is inconsiderate of the person needing deliverance and can leave him feeling
shame, confusion and defilement.
It prolongs the deliverance.
It opens the door to pride by demons pacifying the deliverer.
It opens the door to deception by gaining private information from demons.
Quote: "If one communicates with evil spirits, he may become convinced that
he has gained special information about the devil’s hierarchy, the
devil’s plans, or other revelation knowledge. If a person accepts such
information and teaches it as truth, then he has fallen into deception."
Conversing with demons is forbidden in scripture. Quote: "If one becomes
a communication link with the demonic realm, he becomes a spiritist, and
listens to doctrines of devils." 1 Tim 4:1-2 NKJV Now the Spirit expressly
says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to
deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons."

DELIVERANCE MINISTRIES THAT INTERROGATE DEMONS

As I was researching various deliverance ministries, I ran across ones that
are commanding the demons within the captives to answer questions. They use
the knowledge obtained at the time, and also the knowledge obtained from
previous demons, then combat them with the "Christian tools" (the Name and
blood of Jesus, scripture, etc) to outsmart the demons and force them to
come out. This doctrine of gaining knowledge of and from the demonic world
is growing rapidly. The reason for this is because it is a supernatural ministry.
We need to understand that the supernatural is not an endorsement of God’s
blessing. Just because the supernatural is evident in a ministry, and demons
are being cast out successfully, does not mean that it has God’s endorsement
or blessing. Even the witch doctors cast out demons.
The Bible states that:
1) In the last days some will "give heed to" "teachings or instructions from
demons."
2) Jesus said there will be those who labor in the name of "ministry" who
cast out demons by violating God’s law.
3) A person who asks questions of a demon is a consulter of familiar spirits.
4) People who are used by a deliverer to be a tool through which spirits
speak, are being used in a non scriptural manner.
5) Forcing a child of God to pass through the fire in order to receive their
deliverance compares to witchcraft.
6) Christians should not partner with devils.
7) Jesus is our role model for deliverance and came to serve, not to take
from.
The above 7 statements are based upon the following scriptures. A thorough
Word study of the Greek & Hebrew language is at the end so you can judge
for yourself.
1) In the last days some will "give heed to" "teachings or instructions from
demons."
1 Tim 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall
depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines
of devils;
The Greek words giving heed to, means to adhere to, have regard for, hold
the mind to, or pay attention to. In the last days some believers in Jesus
Christ will give heed to "instructions, doctrines, learnings, and teachings"
from devils. There are many ways of falling into delusion and gaining
instructions from devils. One of these ways is literally listening to what
a demon has to say. Devils have a doctrine. To question them, is to sit at
their feet and learn from them.

2) Jesus Himself said there will be laborers in the name of "ministry" that
will cast out demons by violating God’s law:
Matt 7:21-23 NKJV
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of
heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say
to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast
out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23 "And then
I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice
lawlessness!'
Matt 7:21-23 NLT
"Not all people who sound religious are really godly. They may refer to
me as `Lord,' but they still won't enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The decisive
issue is whether they obey my Father in heaven. 22 On judgment day many will
tell me, `Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in
your name and performed many miracles in your name.' 23 But I will reply,
`I never knew you. Go away; the things you did were
unauthorized.'
The 2 words "practice lawlessness" are Greek words having to do with laboring
in works that violate God’s laws. Not only are these deliverance works
illegal according to God’s written law, the Greek words are clear
in stating that these works are an occupation or a trade. The context that
Jesus was speaking about, was casting out demons. In the name of "ministry"
some make it a business to cast out demons and how they do it is against
God’s law.

3) A person who asks questions of a demon is a consulter of familiar spirits.
Deut 18:10-12 KJV
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his
daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer
of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter
with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all
that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these
abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Lev 20:6-7 NKJV
And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute
himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut
him off from his people. 7 Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy,
for I am the LORD your God.
The following is the Hebrew definition of a consulter in the verse above:

KJV - ask (counsel, on), beg, borrow, lay to charge, consult, demand, desire,

+ salute, X straitly, X surely, wish.
If a deliverer is making requests or demands upon a demonic spirit within
a person, he is a consulter with familiar spirits. The Hebrew word
consulter means to require, make requests or demand. Familiar spirits
is an unusual word meaning a mumbling hollow sound, like a ventriloquist.
These sounds are spirits using the person’s voice to speak through the
person.
The following is the Hebrew definition of a familiar spirit in the verse
above:

and The New Unger's Bible Dictionary describing a familiar spirit:
FAMILIAR
(fa-mil'-yar): Is found as an adjective qualifying "friend" and "spirit."
(1) Used, in a number of Old Testament passages, of spirits which were supposed
to come at the call of one who had power over them. 'obh, literally, something
"hollow"; compare 'obh, "bottle" (Job 32:19 the King James Version); because
the voice of the spirit might have been supposed to come from the one possessed,
as from a bottle, or because of the hollow sound which characterized the
utterance, as out of the ground (Isa 29:4); or, as some have conjectured,
akin to 'ubh, "return" (nekromantis).

FAMILIAR SPIRIT (Heb. 'ob). The significance of the Heb. term 'ob is disputed.
It may be related to the Arab. root 'awaba ("to return"), with reference
to the divining spirit who periodically returns to the medium. The most common
view, however, associates the fundamental etymological significance with
"something hollow," such as "wineskins" (Job 32:19). Assuming the fundamental
notion of "hollowness," various explanations are suggested as accounting
for it, such as calling the divining spirit an 'ob because of the hollow
tone of its voice as if issuing from a cave or opening in the ground. Greek
and Roman oracles, which were considered to communicate with the spirit world,
were commonly situated among the deep caverns.

4) People who are used by a deliverer to be a medium through which spirits
speak, are being used in a non scriptural manner. Their will is being
violated and controlled by the deliverer to be an instrument by which doctrines
of demons are spoken. The ministries that endorse interrogating demons
in this manner use the following scripture:
Mark 5:4 NKJV
Because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains
had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither
could anyone tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains
and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones. 6 When he saw
Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. 7 And he cried out with a loud
voice and said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High
God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me." 8 For He said to him,
"Come out of the man, unclean spirit!" 9 Then He asked him, "What is your
name?" And he answered, saying, "My name is Legion; for we are many." 10
Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.
11 Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains. 12 So
all the demons begged Him, saying, "Send us to the swine, that we may enter
them." 13 And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits
went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd
ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.
Notice in verse 6, it implies that when the man saw Jesus he ran and worshipped
Him. But the demon cried out with a loud voice in verse 7. There are various
opinions among the Greek scholars in verse 9 as to whether the Lord was speaking
to the man or the demon. Most scholars believe that he was speaking to the
man and asking his name, and the demon answered instead.
It is a clear violation of the scripture to gain knowledge through mediums.
1 Sam 28:3
And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards,
out of the land.
1 Sam 28:3-7 NLT
And Saul had banned all mediums and psychics from the land of Israel.
4 The Philistines set up their camp at Shunem, and Saul and the armies of
Israel camped at Gilboa. 5 When Saul saw the vast Philistine army, he became
frantic with fear. 6 He asked the LORD what he should do, but the LORD refused
to answer him, either by dreams or by sacred lots or by the prophets. 7 Saul
then said to his advisers, "Find a woman who is a medium, so I can go and
ask her what to do." His advisers replied, "There is a medium at Endor."
8 So Saul disguised himself by wearing ordinary clothing instead of his royal
robes. Then he went to the woman's home at night, accompanied by two of his
men. "I have to talk to a man who has died," he said. "Will you call up his
spirit for me?" 9 "Are you trying to get me killed?" the woman demanded.
"You know that Saul has expelled all the mediums and psychics from the land.
Why are you setting a trap for me?" 9 And the woman said unto him, Behold,
thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar
spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare
for my life, to cause me to die?
Because the Lord did not speak to Saul, he turned to a medium to gain access
to Samuel, who had died. This was illegal and a violation to God’s
law. Against his own will, Samuel was used as a pawn or a tool by the witch.
Thus Saul used an illegal means to get to the Word of the Lord. By his having
the witch call up Samuel the prophet, he used her as an instrument to gain
knowledge of God’s truth.
Likewise, we can draw the analogy, that when deliverers invoke a demon to
speak, the captive person is participating as a pawn or a tool for the demons
to speak through. This makes the person an instrument by which the doctrine
of demons is taught. This is unholy and a violation of the sanctity of
God’s children.

5) Forcing a child of God to pass through the fire in order to receive their
deliverance compares to witchcraft.
Deut 18:10-12 KJV
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his
daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer
of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter
with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that
do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these
abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
The Hebrew word for passing through the fire is used both literally and
figuratively to mean "cross over". Literally, they sacrificed their children
to the fire in order to gain access to the demonic world. Figuratively when
a deliverer is using a captive to gain access to the demonic, he is forcing
God’s son or daughter to pass through the fire in order to be set free.
(Does that sound like Jesus?)
2 Kings 21:5-6 NKJV
Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used
witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the
sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger.

6) Christians should not partner with devils.
1 Cor 10:19-22 NKJV
Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to
demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with
demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons;
you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons.
This Greek word have fellowship means to be a sharer, an associate or to
be a partner with devils. When a deliverer questions devils in order to gain
knowledge from them, they are partnering with devils instead of the Holy
Spirit.
Romans 16:19 NKJV
For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your
behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning
evil.

7) Jesus is our role model for deliverance. He came to serve, not to take
from.

QUESTIONNAIRES
Detecting demons is often a logical search for problems, through interviewing,
counseling, and searching the history of the person. Most deliverers when
having a deliverance session have a questionnaire that the person fills out
prior to the deliverance.
The use of a questionnaire does dig up the past, but when someone is unable
to either forget the past, be released from the past, or has bad fruits as
an adult, the past is where the seeds were planted. However it is best to
develop a questionnaire that only manifests those things that have not been
covered and washed with the blood of Jesus. This closes the door to unnecessary
shame.
It is also recommended that if the person has already repented, asked forgiveness
of past sins, and been through deliverance over these issues, that they be
released from filling out any information pertaining to past activity.
We recommend that any questionnaire be returned to its owner after the
deliverance session. If we repent and ask forgiveness, the Lord does not
keep records of wrong and doesn’t want us to do that either. It would
be good to destroy the questionnaire in the final session, in front of witnesses.

problems, mental problems, speech problems, sex problems, addictions, physical

A questionnaire helps bring these kind of problems to the surface. Also outside
of a counseling environment, if the ministry team is familiar with the overall
areas that demons affect, it can ask simple questions when necessary.
> THE CHARACTERISTICS OF
DEMONS
All demons steal our peace. In each of their functions, they crave to be
resolved or fulfilled. If one does not have peace in an area and does not
have liberty to be so, then that can be the evidence of a demon.
Demons are just like people only without bodies and without God. In other
words they are personalities. They have volition to choose no or yes. They
have emotions, intelligence, ability to speak and hear. This is why they
are not easy to detect, because they use human bodies to express their
personalities, emotions, appetites, etc. Some demons have very strong wills
and are stubborn, others are not very strong.

harass, torture, compel, enslave, addict, defile, deceive, attack bodies.

THEIR NAMES
Usually it is not necessary to know their specific names. They seem to use
this as a delay tactic. However, sometimes they will not come out without
their name called. Some deliverers disagree on this. Most agree that often
you can call them by their traits or influence or description upon the person.
"You demon that is causing such n’ such come out in Jesus Name!"
When we bind and/or cast out a demon, it is good to "fill the hole" with
the opposite. Example: binding and casting out fear and loosing (or praying
for) faith to fill the hole. Unrest, anxiety, vs peace; anger, resentment,
bitterness vs forgiveness; addiction, compulsive vs self control, deception
vs truth; infirmity vs healing; etc.
As a side bar, some deliverers actually use a Thesaurus and a book of antonyms
in their sessions, when needing to identify a name. On a rare occasion this
may be helpful when stymied.
THE MAN WITH THE LEGION
The following passage is where the doctrine of asking a demonic name came
from. It is the only documented case in the Bible where anyone asked a demon
its name. Most Theologians believe that Jesus was asking the demon’s
name.
However there are a few deliverance ministries including Elijah House and
Frank Hammond who believe Jesus was asking the person his name to see if
the person was in control of his mental faculties and the demon answered,
showing the person was not able to.

And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs,
crying out and cutting himself with stones. 6 When he saw Jesus from afar,
he ran and worshiped Him. 7 And he cried out with a loud voice and said,
"What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You
by God that You do not torment me." 8 For He said to him, "Come out of the
man, unclean spirit!" 9 Then He asked him, "What is your name?" And he answered,
saying, "My name is Legion; for we are many." 10 Also he begged Him earnestly
that He would not send them out of the country. 11 Now a large herd of swine
was feeding there near the mountains. 12 So all the demons begged Him, saying,
"Send us to the swine, that we may enter them." 13 And at once Jesus gave
them permission.

FAMILIES
Where there is evidence of one demon, there is most likely others that are
related by similar characteristics. As one gains access, he keeps the door
opened for others of similar likeness to join. As these links grow, the person
becomes more demonized and slowly loses his freedom.
The following is a list of demonic names, character traits, personalities
and family links. This list can help identify demons, and give understanding
as to how they interrelate and open doors for other demons to enter. This
is the kind of list that a deliverance team might use in a deliverance session,
rather than in a ministry team situation in a service. However it is good
for a ministry team to be aware of the various kinds of demons.
Usually the strong man is the first demon to enter in a certain area. Then
he leaves the door open for others to come in. He dominates others under
him. Sometimes he is the first to manifest. Some deliver him first, some
last. But when he goes, command that all his companions go with him. "Come
out and bring all your roots!"
Since the strong man governs the other demons, it is important to first bind
him in Jesus Name, before breaking loose his house. You do not need to know
his name, merely bind the strongman. Sometimes I just say, "I bind you satan
in Jesus Name!" That covers everything!
Matt 12:29-30 NKJV
Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless
he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
Luke 11:21-22 NKJV
When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are
in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he
takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.
> Example: NERVOUSNESS
Tension, headache, teeth grinding, nervous habits, restlessness, excitement,
insomnia, roving. (each with their own personality but with a similar cause)
Most demons are specialists, they don’t usually operate in areas outside
of their expertise.
Breathe in the Holy Spirit, breathe out the evil spirit. Most often they
come out from the mouth - the Greek word for spirit [pneuma (pnyoo'-mah]
means a current of air, breath (blast) or a breeze.
Other ways of breath are: coughing, choking, gagging, groaning, screaming,
roaring, crying, sobbing, belching, burping, sneezing, sighing, yawning,
current of air, blast of breath, breeze, wind sound.
Can come out through other body parts:
Nose, other orifices
Hands. If they are manifesting in hands, have the person shake them violently
to dislodge. This seems to help.
Bringing up phlegm via coughing, vomiting, drooling, spitting, foaming. This
a demonic nest. Many have been delivered with a full stomach right after
eating and not thrown up food, only phlegm. It is rare to throw up any food
or drink. It is not unusual for phlegm to flow out of a person for an hour
or longer. The phlegm is often a grayish color.
Derek Prince says that usually the strong man manifests first. He controls
the other demons.
Some of their leaving can be quite dramatic, others barely noticeable. This
does not reflect the degree of deliverance. Deliverance is deliverance.
The person receiving deliverance can give it a boost by volunteering the
mouth and breath by coughing, yawning, taking deep breaths. The person may
do several yawns, or take several deep breaths. At some point the pressure
that has built up inside of them leaves and they feel peace.
Bob Jones Quote: "Take a deep breath now and let it come off your throat.
And let that spirit of heaviness off your chest. Just let it go. I loose
the angels to pull out the roots of bitterness in my brothers and sisters.
Let condemnation flee this place. Feel the wind in this place." "There it
comes, there it comes, now."
I am convinced that Bob feels a pressure inside his spirit and knows when
it leaves. I have felt this on occasion. Also in the tape when I heard him
speak this, you could tell in Bob’s voice that he was feeling the pressure
himself.
We want deliverance, however we do not want disturbances when it is the
devil’s attempt to intimidate, control, and manipulate meetings. There
is a difference in their rebellion when it is an attempt to usurp authority
in the meeting. This does not mean they will not manifest when coming out
naturally under the Holy Spirit’s Presence in our meetings.
Excerpt from a note from Pastor Dale Howell @ Cornerstone church: "In answer
to your question, I am not one who quickly removes people from the room.
I agree with you that it is not good to take them out of the anointing unless
there is no choice.
What I watch for is this - is the deliverance of this one individual taking
away from what the Holy Spirit is wanting to do for the whole group? I watch
out for what I call kamikaze demons. These are the ones who manifest in order
to derail the purposes of God in the meeting. Satan is willing to sacrifice
these in order to wreck what the Lord is doing in the whole group. In these
cases, don't let what is happening with one person become the focus for the
whole room.
If that begins to happen and the deliverance is actually derailing the direction
of Holy Spirit then either stop the deliverance by binding it into remission
or remove the person from the room.
Having said this it is also important to discern whether or not the Lord
is behind the deliverance and is wanting to make the deliverance the point
of the meeting. All this takes discernment and an ability to hear the Lord
on the spot even though you are being pressured by demonic manifestations
and human reactions to make a decision favorable to them. It takes a mature
person to be able to do that." (End Pastor Dale quote)
> WHEN TO ALLOW
1) One way to discern if a manifestation is a kamikaze demon is to
compare what the Lord is doing on a corporate group basis vs what the enemy
may be doing with one person. Perhaps ask yourself some questions: What is
the Lord doing to the group? Is there a lot of ministry going on in the room,
on the floor, etc? Is there no attempt from the podium to speak or gather
people’s attention? Is this a time set aside for ministry of the Holy
Spirit? Is there a large group of people standing for prayer, and only a
few people sitting in their seats watching? (If the tally is opposite, this
is a good indicator this is not the time for deliverance or that perhaps
a kamikaze demon is trying to dismantle the Lord’s plans.)
2) We can pray that the Holy Spirit be in control and be sovereign
over the ministry time. The Holy Spirit needs the freedom to bring to the
surface the deeds of darkness, including manifestations of demons. (1 John
3:8) When we are under the direction of the Holy Spirit, and then command
that the demons manifest, this opens it up for the Holy Spirit to tell us
what spirit is to be delivered and when it is to be delivered.
There is an extra grace to deliver someone when the corporate Presence and
anointing of the Lord is present during a service and some people will naturally
be delivered as a result of His Presence. To remove them to another room,
or to just bind it and command it to stop manifesting may be letting go of
an opportunity. We do not want to stop this process, but merely cooperate
with what God is already doing and assist if needed.
We can assist by quietly using our authority and weapons either directly
or indirectly, across the room or as close as "hands on."
3) One green light from the Lord on determining whether to directly
assist or not, is whether the person is STUCK in a demonic manifestation.
They have no way of helping themselves, and they may or may not be cognizant
of what they are doing. If they are caught in a struggle for freedom we can
go over and quietly bind the demon and command it to leave.
4) Some people will be delivered of several, one at a time. With this
situation, there are brief periods of rest in between each demon and the
person and demon will be at rest. It is good to keep a watchful eye on these
people, because after a short space, pressure will begin to build up again
and the next one will be forced out. It is good to stay available, even if
it is across the room so if the person gets stuck at the point of exit, we
can assist.
> CHOOSING THE TIMING FOR
DELIVERANCE
"There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven.
2 A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.
3 A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to rebuild.
4 A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.
5 A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace
and a time to turn away. 6 A time to search and a time to lose. A time to
keep and a time to throw away. 7 A time to tear and a time to mend. A time
to be quiet and a time to speak up. 8 A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace." (Eccl 3:1-8 NLT)
The timing for deliverance needs to be released to the leading of the Holy
Spirit. Just because someone asks for deliverance does not mean they are
ready for it, and just because there is a demonic manifestation in a meeting
does not mean that the Lord has authorized a deliverance at that time.
Matt 7:22-23 NLT
On judgment day many will tell me, `Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your
name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your
name.' But I will reply, `I never knew you. Go away; the things you did were
unauthorized.'
There is a reason for proper timing and waiting upon the Holy Spirit to authorize
a deliverance. The ultimate war in the spirit is over the human will. Both
God and the devil want the will of man. I understand the will of man as having
an entity and power all its own, and it grows up within a person and matures
just like a baby matures into adulthood. When the human will is grown, it
has the capacity for self control, self discipline, and understanding, with
full accountability for decisions. A human will can be very small in relation
to a person’s age in years. Most often when human wills are less mature
than people’s ages, it means they have been held in demonic captivity
where they are not able to exercise their choices freely and do what is right.
If the will is immature, a person will have an almost impossible time of
keeping a demon from coming back in, once delivered. Not only that, but scripture
says that 7 more worse than that may come in.
Matt 12:44-45 NLT
So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and clean. Then
the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all
enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before.
That will be the experience of this evil generation."
In Frank Hammond’s book, "Pigs in the Parlor" he shares a revelation
that the Lord gave to his wife about schizophrenia. I found this revelation
to be most helpful in understanding the timing of deliverance. (As of September
99, this book was in its 34th printing. This book is an excellent foundational
deliverance book and I highly recommend it.)

A person with schizophrenia has many personalities, and the demonic structure
is very complicated to understand and to deliver. The Lord revealed to
Frank’s wife that the real person inside someone with schizophrenia
is very, very small. If the person were to be delivered of all the demons
at once, they would be left not knowing who they are. Having lived with the
demonic personalities for so long, they do not know their identities without
these demonic influences. They do not know how to act, respond or make decisions
until they grow up and mature, exercising their will. It is a long process
of being delivered a step at a time, and learning to identify what was delivered,
and how to separate it from the real person, and then keep it at bay.
That is why as Holy Spirit led ministers, we need to lean on HIM to make
manifest which devil is ready to come out, based upon the person’s maturity
to keep it out.
> MAKING A DECISION IN THE PRESSURE
OF CRISIS
At the moment of manifestation, there are 5 different wrestlings going on
at the same time. Evaluate this criteria:
God’s will - His strong Presence to make manifest and deliver in the
room. (or the lack of His strong Presence)
The devil’s will - His strong rebellion to distract and kill faith.
(or the lack of strong rebellion)
The person’s will - The person’s desperation to be set free. (or
the lack of desperation)
The people’s will - The unity of the people in attendance. (or the lack
of unity)
Your will - Do you want to deliver this person now? (or your lack of desire)
SUGGESTED QUESTIONS
1) What is the environment and context of the group meeting at that moment?
2) How many people are involved, how many are watching in the audience? If
most are involved, the Holy Spirit is obviously doing a corporate group ministry
time.
3) What is the degree of demonic manifestation? (Violence or just noise?)
4) Do you know the person’s present condition or background? Do they
need counsel? Is there space for counsel, can the counsel be heard in the
room?
5) How is your own faith at this moment? Is this something you want to deal
with right now?
If the answers point towards inappropriate timing for deliverance, then it
is time to bind it and command it to stop manifesting a disturbance. The
person can be taken at that time to another room to ask them needed questions
and refer them to a different level of help.
Of course nothing ever works out the way we plan when the Holy Spirit arrives,
but at least some kind of a pre-thought-out structure and battle plan helps
us all find our way TOWARDS our niche and our boundaries in ministry!!! Remember
that deliverance was a PUBLIC ministry for Jesus and His disciples, so not
all deliverance needs to be in private counseling sessions. It is a sign
to the unbelievers of the power of God, the power of satan and it can be
used to draw the unbelievers via a display of the supernatural.
> LEARNING TO DISCERN THE
TIME
Deliverance is a time of tearing down a house of sin, it is not a time of
building up.
The key to team deliverance is the ability to recognize the "timing" in what
the Holy Spirit is doing and how He wants to go about it.
A TIME TO TEAR DOWN

Time for confession or renunciation
Warfare intercession via tongues, and the Spirit
Authority taken against demons or curses
Praying for the Lord to reveal layers and/or roots

A TIME TO WAIT ON THE LORD
Deliverance comes in layers exactly like labor pains.
Try not to rush the process.
Be comfortable with spaces of tongues, soaking, rest or quiet.
In those times, ask the Lord to reveal the next layer or the next step towards
freedom. Learn to wait upon Him, expecting another layer to surface.
These resting places can be several minutes long, then the pressure will
begin to build up within the person once more. And they will begin to show
signs of stress.

Our delegated influence is like being given a check that has Jesus’
signature at the bottom. He gives us a measure of money to spend, in His
Name. He pays the bills, because He had paid the price. It is like a king
that sends a letter of recommendation with his ring stamp on the outside,
saying "This letter goes in the name of the King." Our authority is in the
Name of Jesus.

Gates are where leaders conversed and made plans. Hell’s gates will
not be able to withstand the authority of the believers as they come to plunder
hell’s gates and take back the home to the rightful owners. It is an
offensive position of the church as they go against the enemy.
The Greek phrases "shall be bound" and "shall be loosed" are perfect passive
participles. This means that they are in a state of having already been done.
Therefore, whatever is to be bound or loosed on earth is in the state of
having been bound and having been loosed in heaven. It is up to us to do
the same on earth.

¨ Note there is a book on the market that teaches a different slant
by binding a person to the will of God. It uses examples of binding a person
to objects, etc. Please understand that this is a form of witchcraft. This
teaching violates God’s gift of freewill to mankind. The concept overrides
a person’s freewill, and uses control to get the desired effect. It
may be very effective, but this is inspired by evil delusion.

Finding Our Authority

First Steps to Authority - We have a Choice
I used to think that every negative thing happening to me was the Lord’s
will, because He allowed it. The truth is that He does. However, I did not
understand that He had reasons beyond the training of my character or in
His even giving me a deserved rebuke. In most instances I thought that I
needed patience in my character or I must deserve this because I have done
something wrong. I would bow my heart and resign myself to the difficulties.
I soon learned He wanted me to recognize the enemy’s will within my
life and say, "NO" to it. That was the opposite of resigning my will to negative
circumstances.
Often we do not recognize that much of life’s currents are forces directly
related to the spirit world. They are rulers of darkness: principalities,
powers, and spirits. (Eph 6:12) The Bible says the enemy is a subtle liar
and deceiver. His most effective method is to stay hidden, with plans so
subtle they are not noticed. It’s similar to boiling a frog in water.
A frog will use its volition to jump out if the water is too hot. However
if increasingly hot water is added a small dose at a time, the frog adapts.
It dies without realizing it had the ability and choice to jump out. Likewise,
our human lives have a marvelous ability to adapt to difficulties, especially
if they are "dosed" a small portion at a time. Without realizing how, we
become victims to a subtle enemy plot.
The Lord is now giving us a choice. He is allowing the enemy to turn up the
water temperature, and it’s going to get hotter. In the process the
Lord is asking each of us, "How hot is too hot?" Are we going to lay down
and die under the circumstances or are we going to use our volition and jump
out? When the Lord started to teach me about exercising my own will to say
no to difficult circumstances, He gave me three dreams:
Dream One: I saw a war taking place on behalf of a lowly, pathetic looking
person. His neck, wrists and ankles were shackled in chains as he bowed over
his horse, so timid and dejected.
The war was between two armies of horses and riders. The angelic army was
doing all it could do to free the poor fellow from the demonic army. Finally
the war came to a standstill, and each member of both armies voted. They
were exactly tied. The demonic hosts decided to stop the fighting and took
the prisoner back to jail. Thus the poor man’s deliverance was delayed.
The angelic soldiers looked so longingly towards the victim. I heard one
say to the pathetic man on the horse, "Why, oh why didn’t you vote?
If you had cast your vote, it would have been the winning vote and this war
for you would have been over. You could have been free and gone home!" The
man looked puzzled and then astonished. It never occurred to him that he
had a vote.
Application: There are spiritual forces at work over our freedom. We have
a vote in the matter and our will makes a difference in helping the angels
fight on our behalf. We remain in captive circumstances when we do not cast
our vote in the spiritual battle.
Dream Two: A court trial was in session on behalf of a young maiden destined
to marry an "old meanie." She had resigned herself, and was very forlorn
as she humbly approached the judge with downcast eyes. "Do you love this
man?" he challenged. Surprised, she exclaimed, "Well, no!" He banged his
gavel and proclaimed, "In my court, one has a choice and only marries for
love!"
Application: We resign ourselves to the will of an old meanie not realizing
we have a choice in the matter. When we are in a "trial" we have been given
a choice and do not have to resign ourselves to the will of our adversary.
Dream Three: I was given a tiny, pure gold gun, and as I looked at it I wondered
what I was supposed to do with it. Suddenly, enemies coming from every direction
were chasing me, seriously wanting my gun. I ran and ran and finally I was
too tired to run any farther. I stopped, turned around and faced my opponents
unintentionally swinging my hand with the gun towards them. You should have
seen the looks on their faces! Those bullies suddenly had fear in their faces
as they stared at my gun. They showed immediate respect. I looked at that
little gun wondering in awe at why they wanted it, and how it could cause
such a change in their behavior.
Application: The trigger in the gun was my will and the bullets were the
authority He’s given to all who believe in His Name. The Lord needed
my will to fight the enemy. He had given me the gun and the bullets, but
I was the one who had to pull the trigger. The gun was of no value until
I turned around and faced them. When I turned around all the victimizing
stopped. That turn around was a decision on my part. I had to say, "No, In
Jesus Name!" "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any
means hurt you." (Luke 10:19 NKJ)
Why He’s Giving us a Choice —
The Lord once gave me a vision that represented the maturity of the body
of Christ. I saw a teenage boy and a lion the same age. I understood the
connection between both, because those in the teen years have acquired most
of their height and stature but most are lanky without muscles. The Lord
is saying it’s time to build muscle.
We are living in a time frame that is becoming increasingly consolidated.
The war between the two opposing forces are coming to the surface in daily
living. The Lord is raising up an overcoming army in these last days like
the Lion of the tribe of Judah, who will defeat darkness by building spiritual
muscles against opposition, one step at a time.
How To Exercise Our Choice —
Muscles are built by pressing against resistance. Spiritual resistance is
stated quite simply: "Resist the devil and he will flee." (James 4:7 KJV)
Why does the devil flee? Because that is the rule to which the devil has
been restricted. Each time we say no to the enemy and resist his will, we
flex and build muscle. We have authority over him if we belong to Jesus.
When the Lord created us with free will, He gave us the gift of two votes.
The first is yes, the other is no. If we cast them pleasing the Lord, our
vote to satan will always be no, and our vote to the Lord will always be
yes. If you are in doubt as to whether a negative situation might be the
will of the Lord for you, then the best vote is to cast them both! An example
of that kind of prayer or attitude would be "satan, I bind your powers in
this situation, and I do not accept "such and such" in the Name of Jesus.
Father, if You want this negative situation in my life I completely yield
myself to You and Your desires. In the mean time, satan, you have no authority
in this situation, in Jesus Name!"
If you are tired and victimized, and finally decide to give this authority
a try it may feel awkward to you. That’s OK, no one has to hear you!
Be patient and remember it’s just like being out of shape. Good muscle
tone doesn’t happen overnight. It happens by consistent repetition.
The Lord wants us to learn to consistently rule and reign over our own life
and defeat everything the enemy sends our way. The ultimate goal for us as
overcomers is to place the enemy’s will for our life under our own feet.
This happens a step at a time, one resistance at a time.
You can do it. The Lord is behind you all the way. He is in perfect control
over your situations, no matter how fearful they appear. Only this time in
responding to your negative situations consider that He may want your vote
in the matter, and that vote may very well be, "No satan, I do not accept
this, I rebuke this in the Name of Jesus!"
Visions on Learning Authority
When the Lord started teaching me how to resist the enemy, like any new beginner,
I began to resist every negative situation as though it was a spiritual force.
Some things were not spiritual forces, but the Lord didn’t mind my
practicing. Instead He began to encourage me in my training in the school
of overcoming. As I began to catch on, I received 3 visions where I was walking
forward and some mean looking bullies were coming towards me to oppose me.
In the first vision I held out my hands like a policeman saying, "Halt in
the Name of Jesus. This far and no further!" They stopped completely in their
tracks. In the next vision I said, "I rebuke you in Jesus Name!" The bully
doubled over at his stomach, as though I had slugged him and flew backwards
about 10 feet. In the last one, I was in the same situation with 3 bullies
opposing me. I pointed to them and commanded them to flee in Jesus Name.
They were picked up and hurled into the air a long distance from me. The
Lord was teaching me this resistance towards spiritual bullies really works!
Parable on Practicing our Authority
Often when my family bowls I am reminded of the parable of the bowling ball
and the pins. The ball reminds me of the authority the Lord has given us,
and the pins are the obstacles. One day I was watching my son John bowl in
Junior league where the sizes of the children range from about 3½ feet
to 6 feet. I watched the little tiny kids wobble to the line and hurl or
yank their ball. Like slow moving lava, it would make its way towards the
pins while they would stand, and stand and stand some more. They’d watch
that ol’ ball go an inch at a time, all the way down the aisle. When
the balls finally hit the pins, the pins fell about the speed of wilting
flowers on a cool day.
There was one particular tiny girl who stood with her right arm pointing
towards heaven, while she watched her ball take the long journey down the
lane. That arm didn’t budge until the last pin was down. With her arm
raised, she stood and stood and stood some more, as the slowest moving ball
on earth moved towards its goal. She did this week after week. Remembering
when Moses stood interceding with his hands raised, she reminded me of baby
Moses, so short and tiny, yet standing firm with her arm raised to heaven!!!!
The parable: In our warfare and authority, it doesn’t matter how powerful,
how fast, how fantastic the delivery of the words, the only thing that matters
is the pointing of that little will in the right direction and standing to
see the results. Oh God You are so marvelous. I am so blessed to see the
things You delight in!
He Can’t Work Through Fear
(Testimony by Grandma Anna)
I used to work as a counselor at a residential treatment facility for teen
age offenders, 35 miles from my home in the forest wilderness. Because of
discipline problems with some of my kids, I had to leave the Ranch later
than usual, sometime around 11:30 P.M.
I was in a deeply forested area with no houses when my car began to go slower
and slower even though I had the accelerator floored. Finally, the car completely
stopped. Glancing at the ½ full gas tank, I was very frightened.
I sat there not knowing what to do. Weary with the day of cussing, screaming
kids and frisking them for smuggled knives and drugs, getting out to walk
the dark road was the last thing I wanted to do. My heart pounded as I sat
there in the eerie silence of the darkened night.
Suddenly I heard the audible voice of the Lord, "I CANNOT WORK THROUGH FEAR."
Like clinging to a branch suspended over a deep gorge, I began to pray in
tongues and praise Him. Rebuking my fears in the Name of Jesus, I began to
feel peace and the wonderful Presence of the Lord. The car filled with the
same golden light I had experienced several times before and I heard, "START
THE CAR." Turning on the ignition, with my foot on the gas, I shot forward.
I was stunned, incredulous and excited that this potential catastrophe had
turned into such a glorious experience with the Lord!
The next morning I took the car to the garage to see if there was anything
wrong. The mechanic brought me home and then returned to do a thorough check
of the car. Soon afterwards he called, "What I want to know is how did you
drive that car in here? You don’t have any points!" "Uh," I muttered,
"What are points?" [Sorry guys, I still don’t understand what points
are, but evidently one doesn’t drive without them!]
Later, the same mechanic who had worked on my car was hitchhiking along the
same road I drove every day to the "Ranch". I recognized him and picked him
up and had the opportunity to tell him the whole story.
I don’t know how many times I have referred back to that audible voice
saying, "I CANNOT WORK THOUGH FEAR." When panic begins to overtake me, praying
in tongues, praising Him and rebuking the fear always works.
Following Our Conscience and Divine Restraints
Angel Dream given to Sandy Warner
This was a dream given me in direct answer to a prayer I prayed before going
to sleep. I had asked the Lord to teach me what we can do as human beings
to help the angels fight on our behalf.
I was searching and investigating the treasures held in natural rock formations.
The ones I had found were beautiful. As I was looking, I saw six or so angels
floating above my head. It was strange that I didn’t realize they were
angels even though they were floating. But when I saw them join their ethereal
hands together, I realized, "Oh they must be angels!" Then I noticed they
were floating above me where ever I went.
In the distance I saw mountains and rugged terrain. Thinking it might be
a good place to look for rocks, I looked at the angels, and said to one with
intent in my action, "Bye!" Then walking in the direction I wanted to go,
I saw a white line painted on the ground about 5" wide, and wondered why
it was there.
I crossed over the line and heard in the distance some enemies whose job
it was to trap people who had gone over the line. I looked back and saw that
the angels had not followed me but were still on the other side of the line.
I suddenly realized I was in danger. I turned around, and immediately instead
of the terrain being the easy way I had arrived, it had changed and was now
straight up. With great urgency, I had to use both hands, fingers, feet and
legs to pull myself straight up a rock cliff. It was extremely difficult
and I felt the gravity of not only my weight, but earth’s gravity against
me. I could hear the enemy getting closer and I knew I was in danger.
I saw the angels on the other side of the line and cried for help. Only one
came, and that was the one to whom I had said "good-bye.". He grabbed a hold
of the back of my shirt and held on. But I still had to climb. It was so
difficult, I said to myself, "Why doesn’t he just fly me up there, I
know he can fly and it would be simple!" I was perturbed that I had to work
so hard. As I was climbing, I felt that this angel had put himself in danger
to come to me, just as I had put myself in danger. The reason being, he and
I were outnumbered on this side of the white line.
Finally we were on the other side of the line and I was walking straight
and easy again. I looked back and saw a man whose feet were just on the good
side of the line. He had a pack on his back and the pack extended over the
line to the other side. I looked up and there was an evil spirit towering
over him. The spirit’s feet were restrained on the other side of the
line. Because the man’s pack was still on the bad side of the line,
the spirit grabbed the pack, and thus the man. I was wishing I could have
helped him but knew I couldn’t as it had something to do with free will.
Possible Interpretation: I believe this dream means the enemy is placed behind
divine restraints and not able to hold us captive if we are in God’s
approved location. In this dream there are three issues enabling the enemy
to snare us. The most important and obvious issue is not to cross the line
of our conscience, leaving behind God’s approval. The second is to not
flirt with danger. Making choices that are not necessarily sin, but definitely
not edifying is getting too close for comfort. The third is not to carry
excess baggage. The man was being obedient by being on the right side of
the line, but what he was carrying inside his pack was not. He was attached
to something that went against his conscience, and this enabled the evil
being to grab the attachment, and thus the man. The lesson here is to let
go of the sins that easily beset us and leave them a good distance behind.
We can not keep sin in our back pack and expect to stay out of harm’s
way.
When I walked away from God’s approval, I placed myself behind enemy
lines by my own volition. Once I realized my mistake and cried for help,
I was perturbed that I had to work so hard to get back to that safe place.
Based upon other rhema I have had, I can see several reasons for having to
work so hard.:
One; Remember the point of the previous dream where there was a stalemate
of equal forces battling over the poor pathetic man’s freedom - it took
his vote to tip the scales of justice.
Two; Sometimes it takes major warfare to get someone free, and that doesn’t
happen without the backup of extra warring angels.
Three; In past intercession experiences where warfare was involved, the Lord
told me there were delays because of stalemates, as there was not enough
prayer support. We may wonder why, when there is a two thirds versus one
third principle of angelic forces in the heavens. Our two thirds are not
all warriors and they each have different assignments, gifts and skills.
Neither do all warriors fight the same battles. In application, without the
backup of our own prayers of authority, outside prayer support, and angelic
forces, it is very difficult to climb up and out behind enemy lines.
In this dream the angel was guarding my back but I still had to climb out.
It’s very possible that part of the reason I had to climb and work so
hard was so I would remember the importance of the white line next time around!
The whole thing could have been avoided if I had followed my conscience in
the first place.
Equipped and Trained to War
Series of Dreams & Visions given to Sandy Warner in the 1980’s:
DREAM 1: I had 2 dreams that were in the same setting. In the first one I
was in fire fighting training. We were behind a plexi-glass like shield,
where I could see the flames, but not be hurt by them. Through the glass
I could feel some of the heat, and hear the crackling, but I felt totally
protected and was not afraid. In this dream, we were told it was for training
only.
DREAM 2: In the second dream, I was in the same place, only moved to the
front line. I did not see the shield, but I felt safe as though it was still
there. I knew that this was not training and these were real flames.
VISION: I was handing out tools of some sort to a line of people. The tools
were a cross between garden tools and forest fire fighting tools.
DREAM 3: I saw a huge mass of these people meet in a secret place in the
wilderness. On the outside the building had netting like camouflage, and
inside it was like a huge coliseum. People were lined up in rank and file,
each carrying the tool that had been assigned to them. The higher up the
rows went, the higher the rank. Each person in the coliseum had their own
fire-fighting tool and/or garden tool that I had seen in a previous vision.
VISION: I saw the same tools I had seen before. I was given mine and I looked
at it questionably. I had no idea what to do with it, but I was told I would
be taught how to use it. I understood we would all be trained by the Lord
how to use the equipment He gave to us.
· OUR METRON
The word "metron" comes from the scripture: "But we will not boast of things
without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath
distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you." (2 Cor 10:13 KJV)
God distributes to each of us a limited portion of influence:
Measure in the word underlined above is the Greek word metron (met’-ron)
(3358) which has many meanings. These meanings include a measure; a determined
extent, a portion measured off.

Problems arise when we step outside our metron. When the Jewish travelers
were trying to cast out demons, one demon replied, "I know Jesus and I know
Paul, but who are you?" (Acts 19:15 TLB) The demon injured them and they
ran away naked.
The demonic world knows us: our faith, our waverings, our strengths, our
weaknesses. They know this through testing and tempting us.

Finding your Metron, Authority and Avoiding Backlash

Finding Your Metron
A Teaching to Protect Intercessors Against Backlash
At a conference a few years ago, I overheard a man worshipping the Lord behind
me. As he was worshipping, I heard the Lord whisper to me, "A man of authority."
This of course stirred my interest and so I had to turn around and peek!
I stared right into the face of a loving, prophetic intercessor (soon to
be Apostle). I knew his testimony and yes he had definitely earned that title
of a man of authority.
A few years ago, this powerful intercessor asked the Lord why so many
intercessors were receiving spiritual backlashes and why they weren’t
covered. He asked the Lord this question for a long time. After unrelenting
requests, the Lord finally answered him: "I will anoint My structure."
Frustrated, he said, "Lord, after my asking all this time and You didn’t
answer, then You finally answer, and You say THIS?" "What does THAT mean?"
I laughed when I heard this, because that sounded so much like God! Through
time and revelation, he understood that God would build His government, and
did not want the intercessors isolated, but under the covering and protection
of the Apostles and Prophets. He applied this personally by asking the prayer
backing of God’s chosen, when he was taking on assignments that stirred
up heavy demonic forces.
In recent weeks I also have noticed that the intercessors are suffering backlash,
some severely, and I have pondered the above and asked the Lord the same
question: "Why is this happening?" The answer was immediate: operate within
one’s metron. This word metron, also has to do with God’s government.
Metron comes from the scripture: "But we will not boast of things without
our measure, but according to the measure (3358) of the rule which God hath
distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you." (2 Cor 10:13 KJV) Metron
is a Greek word meaning: (3358) metron (met’-ron); an apparently primary
word; a measure ("metre"), literally or figuratively; which has many meanings.
These meanings include a measure; a determined extent, a portion measured
off.
We are each given a measure of authority, and it is important to understand
our metron, or sphere of influence and authority in which He has placed us.
We each give (pray, stand in the gap, and war) according to our own ability.
He doesn’t ask us to give what we don’t have, rather He asks us
to give what we do have. "If you are really eager to give, then it isn’t
important how much you have to give. God wants you to give what you have,
not what you haven’t." (2 Cor 8:11-12 TLB) And therefore, it is important
to understand our metron, or sphere of authority. If you are not sure what
your metron is, hopefully this small outline will help kindle your thoughts
to find it.
1. KNOW TO WHOM YOU ARE CALLED
Whether you are a parent, a teacher, a pastor a prophet, a public servant,
etc., you have a sphere of loved ones in which you have been called to nurture.
If they belong to you, you have the authority to pray over what they are
facing.
"And he will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children, and
the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the land
with a curse." (Mal 4:6 NASB)
2. KNOW YOUR GIFTS
If you don’t know your calling, your giftedness can be a mirror of what
your cup contains. The Lord equips whom He sends — what equipment has
He given you? If you have the gift of mercy, your gift offers mercy for those
deserving judgment, needing forgiveness and or needing healing. If you are
a warrior and you fight demons, your gifts of discernment, hearing and seeing
will reflect that function. If you have the gift of mercy and have never
fought a demon in your life, God is not asking you to single-handedly tear
down a strongman's demonic nest. If God has placed within you the tenacity
of a bulldog to knock, knock, knock, ask, ask, ask, then keep on making
supplications! These are all gifts and He is calling you to function with
what He has given you, not with what He has not.
"For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have
the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually
members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace
that is given to us, let us use them…" (Rom 12:4-6 NKJV)
3. KNOW YOUR ASSIGNMENTS
As an intercessor, I have been given dreams and visions of specific assignments
needing completion. I then "stand" (pray, war, hold onto His promise of victory,
sacrifice, follow my conscience, etc) until it is completed. God gives each
of us assignments according to our callings and when we face enemy obstacles
that are a direct confrontation of completing that assignment, God gives
us the authority and grace to complete it. If you have completed that assignment,
then you have also won that authority for future battles.
"His master praised him for good work. `You have been faithful in handling
this small amount,’ he told him, `so now I will give you many more
responsibilities. Begin the joyous tasks I have assigned to you." (Matt 25:21
TLB)
4. KNOW YOUR MEASURE OF FAITH
We each have been given a measure of faith, and that faith can grow as He
builds it via spiritual exercise. These faith muscles grow as a direct result
of pressing against resistance. (When we are standing in the gap and praying,
our faith directly affects the angels freedom to go forth and fight battles
on our behalf.) We are called to stand, and standing takes some effort in
order to resist wavering. That faith can wobble if we live a life that is
not pleasing Him. Faith and favor are directly related to following our
conscience. The accuser is the first to point out the flaw and that will
affect our faith to stand against onslaught. Our metron will be no larger
than our faith to be able to stand in His favor.
"For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to
think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to
have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith." (Rom
12:3 NASB)
"Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies,
but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed
to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the
accursed from among you. Get up, sanctify the people, and say, ‘Sanctify
yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the LORD God of Israel: "There
is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your
enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you." (Josh 7:12-13
NKJV)
5. KNOW YOUR PATTERN OF SUCCESSES
When entering into new territory, the Lord will build your faith with
confirmations, to help you to understand His approval of your moving ahead
in prayer. If you can look back and find a link of similar prayer successes,
this will be a good indicator of your metron. We have a fellow at our church
who began getting Words of knowledge of prayer needs. He took courage and
started sharing what he believed the Lord was saying. Each time he did this,
someone responded and he prayed for them. Each time they received answers
to the prayers. This is a good indicator through a pattern of success, that
he has been given a metron to pray for those whom he receives Words of knowledge.
"I will drive them out before you little by little, until you become fruitful
and take possession of the land." (Ex 23:30 NASB)
6. KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
It is true that your greatest gifting (and or promise) will also be your
greatest testing. Sometimes if you are suffering a backlash it is because
the devil considers you a threat and he knows you are influencing his domain.
If that is the case, be encouraged that you are making a difference.
"Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan River, being urged
by the Spirit out into the barren wastelands of Judea, where Satan tempted
him for forty days. (Luke 4:1 TLB)
7. KNOW REVELATION
The Lord will send you supernatural revelations of your portion. This comes
through the many ways to hear Him and they puzzle together to give a good
indicator of your sphere of influence. Ask Him for revelation to teach you
your metron.
"But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and
you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches
you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it
has taught you, you will abide in Him." (1 John 2:27 NKJV)
8. KNOW YOUR COVERING
God is raising up His government, and He is divinely moving His chosen leaders
into place. If the leaders are saying to pray corporately against a demonic
problem, then that is the covering and guidance in which to safely operate
your gifts. Corporately means standing in one accord with other believers
against a common cause. There is a synergistic effect when joining with others
who are like minded to fight a common enemy.
"You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before
you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten
thousand to flight." (Lev 26:7-8 NKJV)
I close with a precious forwarded story that has a 2 fold theme. It reflects
the heart of any true covering appointed by God, and it also reflects the
Lord’s heart to us all:
"A mother took her 8 year old son to a great concert hall, black tie event
to hear Paderewski the famous composer-pianist. The boy became restless waiting
for the concert to start so as his mother visited with friends he slipped
from her side and onto the stage. He was drawn by the Steinway and climbed
up on the stool and stared wide-eyed at the keys. He placed his small trembling
fingers in the right location and began to play "Chopsticks." The roar of
the crowd was hushed as hundreds of frowning faces turned in his direction.
Irritated and embarrassed, they began to shout: "Get that boy away from there.
"Who’d bring a kid that young in here?" "Where’s his mother?" "Somebody
stop him!"
Backstage the master overheard the sounds out in front and quickly put together
in his mind what was happening. Hurriedly, he grabbed his coat and rushed
toward the stage. Without one word of announcement he stooped over behind
the boy, reached around both sides, and began to improvise a counter melody
to harmonize and enhance "chopsticks". As the two played together, Paderewski
kept whispering in the boy’s ear: "Keep going, don’t quit, son.
keep on playing.. don’t stop....don’t quit."
And so it is with us. We hammer away on our project, which seems about as
significant as "Chopsticks" in a concert hall. And about the time we are
ready to give up, along comes the Master, who leans over and whispers: "Now
keep going; don’t quit. Keep on...don’t stop, don’t quit!"

How to Close the Doors to Backlash
1. BUILD OUR METRON A STEP AT A TIME
As said several times in this teaching, the word "metron" comes from the
scripture: "But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according
to the measure (3358) of the rule (2583) which God hath distributed to us,
a measure to reach even unto you." (2 Cor 10:13 KJV)
The Lord has given us authority to bind the enemy and loose God’s will.
(Matt 16:19) He is wanting us to grow in our measure of authority against
the enemy — first over the lack of freedom within our own lives, then
our loved ones, then onto outside circumstances and territory that influence
our lives - like work, school, church, etc. As we grow and overcome in the
areas that touch our own lives then move onto bigger assignments, our circle
of authority over the enemy grows and we are able to stand against greater
odds. It is a step by step process of learning to obey the Lord and following
Him in what He is asking us to overcome.
Problems arise when we step outside our metron. Again using the parable,
when the Jewish travelers were trying to cast out demons, one demon replied,
"I know Jesus and I know Paul, but who are you?" (Acts 19:15 TLB) The demon
injured them and they ran away naked. The demonic world knows us: our faith,
our waverings, our strengths, our weaknesses. We must cover our own hedges
first before we can expect to war safely on bigger issues.
The comforting part of learning to war in this manner is that He is sovereign
and as long as we don’t become presumptuous and take on more than He
has assigned, then what He allows to touch our lives is strictly portioned
one step at a time. (Ps 139) Everything must be cleared by Him first. We
are the last day overcomers, and we will place the enemy under our feet and
we will be victorious. But that only happens with Him divinely positioning
us, and giving us our individual portions to complete. We will each have
different assignments, but together we are taking territory.
2. RESIST SIN
The Lord said that we can not stand against our enemies until we remove the
sin from our camp. (Josh 7:12) Disobedience to His Word is an open door for
demons to set up camp in our lives. We are living in the day when the accuser
has become very powerful because the hedge over our lives, cities, and countries
has fallen through sin. God doesn’t want the accuser having a foothold,
but it leaves little choice when we are the ones giving the accuser ammunition.
It all boils down to knowing and following God’s Word. (Ps 119:11)
3. AVOID PRESUMPTION
Spiritual warfare is a serious business because we can not see with our natural
eyes what is taking place. Therefore we are blind sided by unknown enemies,
wondering what hit us! Our only hope is to learn to wait upon the Lord, Who
does see, and only move forward in battle as He says to move. This means
we do not make plans for our lives, our families, our ministries, our churches,
our neighborhoods, our towns, our countries, without first praying and asking
God for His plan. If God is not behind the plan, we have no hope of ever
standing against the obstacles that will come our way. It is hopeless before
it ever gets started. The best remedy against presumption is to give God
time. Revelation of His plan takes time as well as waiting for confirmation.
(2 Cor 13:1) Waiting may be hard, but it is a lot easier than suffering great
loss.
4. CLEANSE THE HOME
Sometimes cleansing the home is necessary. Countries with other religions
actually send curses and spirits attached to the objects they export. There
are millions of idols today, as well as spirits and curses sent with
children’s toys. Many companies are turning to spiritual forces to
manipulate the public. When searching your home and heart, remember Romans
14 about eating meat sacrificed to idols. Pray and even anoint with oil things
in your home, rebuke enemy attachments and loose blessings. Also remember
1 Thess 5:22 that says, "Abstain from all appearance of evil." If the item
actually represents evil, why live with it? (Josh 7:12)
5. OVERCOME JUDGMENT WITH MERCY
Twenty eight years ago I learned a powerful lesson about opening the door
for judgment to come upon my own life. I had become offended by the behavior
and motives of a youth leader and started praying for him. The more I prayed,
the more upset I became, and I finally talked to him, saying I had a Word
from the Lord for him. Right after I delivered this "Word" the Lord showed
me that I had pointed one finger, but had 3 fingers pointing back to myself.
I suddenly realized I was guilty of the same motives and I repented. The
deeper lesson I learned that day was that when we pray for our leaders we
must cleanse our own hearts first. If we stay humble and pray for mercy,
this will close doors of judgments to hit our own lives. If we judge, we
will be judged. This is a biblical promise. (Luke 6:37) The sooner we truly
believe this, the sooner we will stop judging.
6. STAY IN UNITY
The demonic forces are gathering and uniting for greater impact. This is
not a time to be an isolated believer, rather it is a time to unite, for
we will all be much safer when united. There is greater authority in group
prayer, and there is also a greater canopy of protection. The Lord is starting
to unite His army, even joining leaders and ministries together for a synergistic
effect. He said that 5 can chase 100 and 100 can chase 10,000. (Lev 26:8)
That is the power of gathering in His Name.
Tackling territorial strongholds is for groups gathering and taking authority
together, united in one accord against a common enemy. I personally think
that the reason why some of these strongholds will not come down without
the gathering, is so that we WILL gather. Some have asked me how big of a
group is big enough? It is my personal belief that the size of a group is
not as important as the maturity, training, unity and actual experience of
the warriors. On the other hand, the unity of a larger crowd shields individuals,
because of the combined synergistic authority to fight stronger powers. (Lev
26:8)
7. KEEP OUR FOCUS
The enemy wants to challenge us into fighting a war on his terms. When this
happens, our focus changes and we get our eyes onto the enemy instead of
the Lord. I would like to share a story of some recent experiences because
I believe it demonstrates the importance of what it means to keep our focus
on the Lord.
Recently our city had a small riot that erupted from 200 anarchists demonstrating
against capitalism. At the time the riot began, I came down with a very deep
heavy burden pressing against my heart and stomach. I prayed, I warred, I
spoke in tongues, I worshipped and it still lasted for about 5 hours before
I found relief. Since I am fasting TV, I didn’t know about the riot
until the next day. Anarchists said their demonstration "got out of hand"
causing $18,000 damage to local businesses, also busting driver’s windows,
and terrorizing motorists. (I wondered what "got out of hand" meant when
they came prepared with metal bars, chains, rocks twice the size of softballs,
and hoods to cover their faces?) Next they announced they were going to do
their "demonstrations" the 3rd Friday of each month. It was easy to figure
out where my burden came from especially when it lasted the same duration
of the 5 hour demonstration.
I had received a dream in October 98 when I understood that the enemy’s
desire was to bring the spirits of lawlessness and riots to the streets,
so that it would drive the righteous out of the cities. I felt sick. I had
just witnessed a beginning seed of this lawless spirit and knew exactly what
the enemy wanted to birth. I kept thinking, 200 people inspired by anarchy
can eventually cause the righteous to move away? Yes, when empowered by some
heavy-duty principalities.
After the understanding came, I started asking the Lord to raise up the local
churches to pray against this. I said, "Lord, it isn’t right that we
can just let the enemy walk in and take over!" Within days of the riot, our
little church happened to have the training conference on demonic warfare
and deliverance I had prepared. Unbeknownst to us, evidently Goliath listened
and came knocking on our door that night.
That night the Lord told me the enemy was wanting to break through the hedge
and He wanted me to stand. (Eph 6:13) I had no idea what He meant, but I
found out. Around midnight a demonic presence appeared in one of our
intercessor’s bedroom. They got up, took authority and anointed their
place with oil. One hour later the same presence jumped on the foot of another
intercessor while she was sleeping. The next hour I saw a hole open in the
spirit realm and I felt an overwhelming evil presence. I woke up screaming.
(I have had many warfare experiences in 15 years and only woke up screaming
one other time.) In spite of it, I stood against it and went back to sleep!
The next night, I not only felt it, but heard it. It was a union of 6 powerful
forces that had joined together and had come to challenge. Two of the names
were intimidation and rebellion. I stood against them for hours, and awoke
feeling like I had gotten nowhere. That morning I awoke to a TP’d and
fouled yard. My husband and I anointed our property, and everything we could
think of with oil, praying and commanding the enemy to stay off our turf.
That night my husband and I both saw them. I also felt and heard them, literally
wrestling in hand to hand combat for 2½ hours. During all of these
experiences, I continued to plead the blood of Jesus Christ, bound them,
and commanded them to leave in Jesus Name. The next night, the minute I closed
my eyes I heard and felt the same presence. It felt significantly weaker
by about 70%, but I had HAD IT. "THAT’S IT! I’M CALLING IN THE
TROOPS!" I called Anna (there is nothing like a mother bear’s prayers
for her cub) and told her some of this, and she began to war over the phone.
As she was commanding, I heard the Lord say, "Warrior." I felt very comforted
and had enough peace to go back to sleep.
I slept some, then finally I heard the Lord! "She belongs to ME says the
Lord. MY bride!" When I heard this, the emphasis was on ME and MY. I had
instant peace! I felt like a love-sick bride whose chivalrous Husband stepped
in to rescue her. I felt so deeply loved after such intimidating experiences.
I turned over with a smile and slept blissfully the rest of the night. The
next morning I called Anna and she was joyfully laughing. She heard the Lord
say, "I perceive guard duty is a bit too heavy!" The first words out of my
mouth were, "DUH!!!!" That made her laugh, because that is exactly what she
had said too!
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual
hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor
of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done
all, to stand." (Eph 6:12-13 NKJ)
There was a lesson in this. During this four day "adventure" I kept searching
my heart and asking the Lord for understanding. I have received some heavy
duty intercessory assignments, and because they were given by the Lord, they
were successfully completed with some big dudes torn down… but they
took anywhere from weeks, to months to years to overcome in tiny increments.
I searched my heart to make sure that I personally had not challenged this
"challenger" when the riot came. I don’t remember doing so, rather I
prayed that the Lord would raise up intercessors and prayer in the churches.
Lord, have I unknowingly sinned? Have I been presumptuous? Have I gone outside
my metron? I could not come up with any reason why suddenly this blast would
come to our door and want to force its way in. Finally I understood. One
of our intercessors shared a vision she’d had years ago when she had
been in heavy warfare, and was taken up to the Lord. She kept looking behind
her and the enemy was standing right behind her. The Lord took her face several
times and turned her eyes back on Him. As she did, she got closer and closer
to the Lord. Some time passed and then He told her to look back. The enemy
was very small and in the distance. She got the point. We are called to keep
our eyes, our focus on Him. We are to pursue Him.
Because we pursue the Lord, we naturally suffer resistance from the enemy.
However, it is a result of going after the Lord, not after the enemy. Without
giving the details of our warfare conference, I could see so clearly that
our focus changed for a brief moment and opened Goliath’s door. Warfare
should always be a result of our pursuit of the Lord and keeping our focus
upon Him. If you are suffering backlash and have covered every breach in
your wall you can think of, perhaps all that is needed is to get your eyes
back onto the Lord. I am reminded of Smith Wigglesworth’ life when he
saw satan appear at his bedside. Smith said, "Oh, it’s only you," and
turned over and went back to sleep.
May we learn to use our weapons of prayer, sacrifice, worship, and authority
safely. May we learn to cover the breaches in our own lives so that we can
stand for our cities without retaliation, in Jesus Name.

Our power is in being baptized with His Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues.
This is power to do miracles, healings, signs. Some, after having deliverance
from a demon need healing. Their bodies have been ravaged by disease, caused
by the enemy. They need prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit to heal what
was caused by the losses and then restore what was lost.
These Words are what Jesus told Rick while Rick was taken to the 3rd heaven
to His Throne room, (like Paul). This is about the Lord’s coming power
in the last days ministry. This is one of the best books I have ever read,
I highly recommend this book!
¨ One of the greatest deceptions that comes upon My anointed ones is
that they begin to think that because I give them a little supernatural knowledge
or power, that their ways must be therefore be my ways and that everything
that they think is what I think. This is a great deception.
¨ If you ever start to think that the power is My endorsing you, or
even your message, you will open the doors to the same delusion.
¨ If you do not know My love, then My power will corrupt you. The goal
of your life must be love, not power. Then I will give you power to love
with. I will give you the power to heal the sick because you love them, and
I love them, and I do not want them sick.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven,
and things in earth, and things under the earth.
Even a child can say the name of Jesus and demons will flee. I remember as
a child having demonic attacks during sleep, where I would be temporarily
paralyzed and unable to move, either my body or to speak or move my tongue.
I would "think" the name of Jesus and suddenly I would be set free. Back
then, all I knew was that it was somehow the devil, and Jesus was stronger.

· Example
I have had many warfare experiences at night. I have seen evil spirits, witches,
etc that are temporarily restrained when I bind them in Jesus Name. It is
similar to binding in chains or wrapping them with ropes and they are unable
to move in aggression or in opposition. This buys me or the angels time to
get free and move forward, changing our atmosphere from being in a defensive
position to an offensive position.

When we doubt that our behavior is correct, we condemn ourselves and this

stand.
Because doubt leaves us vulnerable to attack, as team members we must have
the freedom to participate, or freedom not too, based upon that moment. If

Meetings where the corporate worship is very strong brings the Presence of
the Lord. His Presence drives the demons to manifest and come out. It is
very easy to deliver someone during worship when His Presence is strong like
that.

in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries."
· Example
Graham Cook, a prophet from England shared about one particular family in
his church that was under attack. The husband and 2 sons were out of work,
the wife and daughter were sick, and the husband and wife relationship was
very strained. They gathered the whole congregation of 400 people into this
family’s house just prior to 8:00 PM. Every person that could possibly
squeeze in that little home was crammed in. The only place for Graham was
to sit on the toilet! The people that couldn’t fit circled around the
outside of the house. The instructions were that at exactly 8:00 everyone
was to speak in tongues non-stop for one hour! Devils were out of there in
a hurry! Repentance came, the man was instantly healed of addictions,
relationships were instantly healed, both women were healed of their sickness,
and the 3 guys had jobs in less than a week. Their lives were never the same.
Graham said that he really believes in the commitment of "one for all and
all for one." He said that if the devil kicks one family, then he has taken
on the whole church.
· Personal example
I have used tongues in deliverance. It is a very effective weapon. The Name
of Jesus is our best weapon, along with the authority to command them to
leave, but I strongly believe in tongues since that is the way the Holy Spirit
taught me. I learned this supernaturally before I knew anything about
deliverance. I found out AFTER the deliverance that those were demons that
left the person! The Lord can be very funny when He is training us!
This is what the (intercessory/ deliverance) experience is for me: I feel
a pressure inside my own spirit as I lay hands on someone and I start to
speak in tongues. The tongues build and so does the pressure to speak and
press through with the tongues. Then suddenly the demon will manifest in
the person and come out, as though being driven by the tongues.
I am not sure why this works. I know that the Presence of the Lord is strong
and it is His anointing that breaks the yokes. I think that the tongues opens
that glory spout and releases His Presence and anointing and the demons
can’t stand it.
On the other side of it, after the demon leaves, I have felt a great peace
overcome me and the need to speak in tongues stop. The person I am laying
hands on also rests and is at peace. As we rest in Him, I will again feel
another surge and the urgency to speak in tongues increases, with the pressure
building. All of a sudden the person will release another demon.
It is like waves of pressure similar to giving birth and expelling a baby,
only this is driving demons out in Jesus Name. There is an ebb and flow of
pressure to peace, back and forth as each wave comes and goes.
I know another lady that told me when she did deliverance on a particular
lady, she sat on the floor behind her, hugging her tight and speaking in
tongues and they came out. She said she could feel them moving in the
lady’s body and suddenly she retched and out they came. Pretty soon
they both had peace.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed

to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our

We are coming to a time where the Holy Spirit will be giving creative ways
to minister deliverance. There is power and anointing that dwells with living

CONTROVERSY
Some full time deliverers say that they have best results with direct contact,
perceiving the anointing is stronger with laying on of hands. Some say it
is not necessary and do not recommend this. It needs to be an on-the-spot
decision based upon what you are discerning.
There is controversy in various deliverance ministers about the safety of
laying on of hands. Paul speaks of using laying on of hands to impart spiritual
gifts.
Rom 1:11
For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift,
to the end ye may be established.
The enemy uses every thing that God does as a counterfeit, therefore he can
impart too. There is the implication of negative results in laying on of
hands in scripture.
1 Tim 5:22
Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins:
keep thyself pure.
Lev 16:21-22 NLT
He is to lay both of his hands on the goat's head and confess over it
all the sins and rebellion of the Israelites. In this way, he will lay the
people's sins on the head of the goat; then he will send it out into the
wilderness, led by a man chosen for this task. 22 After the man sets it free
in the wilderness, the goat will carry all the people's sins upon itself
into a desolate land.
· Examples
I have heard of well known ministers who have fought impartations of evil
spirits as they were praying over someone. One prayed for someone with a
withered hand and his own hand ended up being withered until he took authority
over it. Another rebuked arthritis and healed the lady. The next morning
the minister could hardly get out of bed with such pain. Thankfully he realized
what it was and delivered himself.
I once laid hands on a lady to bless her and "received" a spirit of contention.
I actually felt it come into my body as I touched her. I was very upset with
this experience and came home very contentious, very out of the ordinary
for my personality. I knew what it was, took authority over it and finally
felt it leave me. This really humbled me and I wanted to know exactly why
the Lord had allowed this to happen. He told me that I needed to forgive
her, because she had been a contentious person who had been really disrupting
our meetings.
For me, I have found that laying on of hands brings the anointing and I have
more faith to lay hands upon someone, then not. However some times this will
backfire. There was an incident where an Oriental lady who was raised Buddhist
and had only been a Christian one week, came to a conference and started
writhing in the aisle like a snake. Someone on the ministry team asked me
to stay with this lady and keep her "non manifesting" while she went for
pastoral help. I noticed that every time I laid hands on her, she would writhe
much worse and erupt into hissing. In this incident my hand was much better
left off. I just continued to bind the demons and commanded them to stop
manifesting in the meeting.
Most often, open doors of impartation come through sin, unforgiveness or
fear. All have sinned and come short of the glory… It is a matter of
faith vs. fear and where we stand in our relationship with the Lord. If we
have more faith in the devil, then it is more important not to lay hands.
This is a moment by moment decision, depending upon our faith at the particular
time.
> It is recommended that those who are needing deliverance, living in
sin, unforgiving or fearful refrain from laying their hands upon others for
ministry. It is best to wait until they receive their own freedom before
attempting to loose others into freedom from demonic issues. This protects
both parties.
> HANDS &
INTERCESSION
Today, God’s Presence, anointing, power and gifts are becoming manifest,
openly visible and also providing tangible experiences. People have gifts
where they actually feel or experience various things with their hands as
they war against the enemy.
2 Sam 22:35
He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of
bronze.
Ps 144:1
Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers
for battle—
· Examples:
Derek Prince has mentioned that he can feel the demons when he lays his hands
upon someone’s back. He can feel them come out.
I have noticed if I place my hand on someone’s lower back, and move
my hand up their spine, that demons have come out. Sometimes it takes several
slow, driving swipes but it is like pushing them up and out in Jesus Name!
I have also done involuntary prophetic gestures like chopping motions with
my hands (not pre thought or manufactured; it just surfaces) and have seen
people delivered that way. One lady had a headache and this intercessory
experience erupted from within me and she was instantly delivered of her
headache. I don’t know who was more surprised, she or me.
There are other times when I may lay my hand upon someone’s shoulder
or arm and I feel a resistance inside my own spirit as though my hand is
wanting to push against some kind of invisible resistance. Accompanied with
taking authority over the demon, it leaves.
I have heard of people actually feeling the demon in their hands and wrestling
them out in the Name of Jesus. I have done that in night time/ sleeping warfare
experiences.
Bobby Conner can feel them as he moves his hands over the top of someone’s
head, back or shoulders. He also breaks them off as he does this.

INSTRUMENTS

the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and
the trumpets to blow in his hand.
And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that

was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
The Holy Spirit will be falling upon the songs and instrumental sounds of
the musicians and sending forth deliverance and healing in these last days.
Be opened and ready for this to happen during our worship meetings.

BANNER
Ps 60:4-5
But you have raised a banner for those who honor you-- a rallying point
in the face of attack. Use your strong right arm to save us, and rescue your
beloved people.
(Hebrew banner = a flag, sail, a flagstaff, a signal, a token, banner, pole,
sail, sign, standard.)
· Personal example
I had an experience where I was worshipping the Lord with a glory ring. There
was an epileptic who’d had a seizure early that morning and he was sitting
on the floor. I was dancing about 40 feet away, with no one in between us
and I swept my glory ring towards him, shouting, "In Jesus Name!" He fell
over flat. I have no idea if he was delivered, but something certainly happened.
> TAMBOURINE &
DANCE
These were used in war and in the prophetic proclamations of victory over
the enemies.

And in every place where the staff of punishment passes, Which the LORD
lays on him, It will be with tambourines and harps; And in battles of brandishing
He will fight with it.

Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine and led all
the women in rhythm and dance. 21 And Miriam sang this song: "I will sing
to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has thrown both horse and

· Personal example
At the same conference I was worshipping with my tambourine. An obese lady,
somewhere around 350 pounds was laying on the floor in front of the speakers.
I was dancing behind her head with my tambourine. The music was so loud no
one could hear anything, not even my tambourine. I noticed that every time
I swept my tambourine towards her saying, "In Jesus Name!" she broke out
in a wave like motion in her body. It was as though she was like a bull whip
starting from the top of her head, that reverberated out through her toes.
It was most unusual. Her eyes were closed and she had no idea what I was
doing. I found it so unusual, I kept doing it. Every time I swept my tambourine
over her, she did this! I saw her 6 months later and she had lost 50 pounds.
Another few months, more pounds. She has lost over 150 pounds since then.
Again, no one is more surprised than me. It is the anointing that breaks
the yoke in Jesus Name!
> AT A
DISTANCE
The person does not have to hear you; you are speaking to the demon, not
the person.
John 4:48-53
The nobleman said to Him, "Sir, come down before my child dies!" 50 Jesus
said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." So the man believed the word
that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. 51 And as he was now going
down, his servants met him and told him, saying, "Your son lives!" 52 Then
he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, "Yesterday
at the seventh hour the fever left him." 53 So the father knew that it was
at the same hour in which Jesus said to him.
Example: I have a friend who discerned during a worship service that the
distracting dancing movements of two ladies were the manifestations of unholy
spirits. With the music blaring, my friend whispered from a distance, "You
unholy spirits, I bind you in the name of Jesus." and one lady immediately
dropped to the floor and the other one abruptly stopped.
Another time she was right behind someone sitting on the floor who was starting
to choke. This was also during worship and dance. Without any one hearing
her, she commanded the spirit to come out and he threw up. The man had no
idea someone had taken authority behind him, but the enemy knew it.

SILENTLY
We do not have to speak out loud for the demons to hear us. Demons speak
to our thoughts and can also hear ALL our thoughts. Likewise, when Jesus
prayed to His Father, He acknowledged that it was not necessary to speak
out loud.

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying.
And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have
heard Me. "And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people
who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me."
2 Cor 10:4-6
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling
down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts
itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity
to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience
when your obedience is fulfilled.
· Personal example
One time I was next in line at the cash register. I was minding my own business
when in my mind I heard the enemy swear at me and in my mind I bound and
rebuked him. At that exact moment of authority the cashier yawned the biggest
yawn I have ever seen, and her eyes got huge and then she held her head,
saying, "Oh my, I have never yawned like that in my life! I have never yawned
so deep! I yawned so deep, I got dizzy!" I knew she had received deliverance
with my silent warfare. I was standing about 4 feet away from her facing
directly towards her when I was rebuking the enemy.
Another time a lady was manifesting heavily and I began to speak in tongues
in my thoughts while laying hands upon her. Still doing everything in my
thoughts, I bound the demon and commanded it to come out and she was instantly
set free. I have also prayed and taken authority in my mind, and the person
will suddenly manifest a demon and it will come out.

gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." 27 Then
He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding

· Example
I heard of a man that silently prayed over a cup of water, since he did not
have grape juice and thanked the Lord for His blood that cleanses us. Then
he told the person he was delivering to open his mouth. The demon screamed
out that he was not going to drink that blood. The person said, "Yes you
are, and when you do, you are coming out in Jesus Name!" That was the end
of it, the demon came out as the man swallowed the water.
> FASTING
Isaiah 58:6-9
Is it a fast that I have chosen, a day for a man to afflict his soul?
Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, and to spread out sackcloth and
ashes? Would you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? 6 Is
this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to
undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break
every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you
bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, that
you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh? 8 Then your light
shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily,
and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be
your rear guard. 9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; you shall
cry, and He will say, `Here I am.' "If you take away the yoke from your midst,
the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness...
¨ Note in the New Testament, that the word fasting is not in the original
Greek language in relation to casting out demons. In Mark 9 most translations
say prayer and not prayer and fasting. KJV and NKJ adds fasting but it is
not in the Greek.

ANGELS
Ps 103:20-21 NKJV
Bless the LORD, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word,
heeding the voice of His word. Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, you ministers
of His, who do His pleasure.
Quote from Reverend Buck: "Angels are not allowed to interfere in people’s
lives. But they are sent to intervene in people’s lives." This means
that they do not interfere with our wills or our choices, but when we are
in danger, they are allowed to intervene or interrupt danger on our behalf.
When Rick Joyner went to the throne room (written in The Quest) he had angels
following him around. When he asked them for counsel, they were perplexed
with the question, due to the fact they were to accompany him as servants,
and follow him around. They would be learning as he learned! (To order The

Bobby Conner saw a vision where the angels were in heaven standing around
bored. He asked the Lord why, and the Lord told him it was up to us to send
them forth and dispatch them.
When we do warfare, angels protect us and heed the voice of God’s Word
as we speak His Word against darkness. However our trust is not in angels,
nor do we hide behind them. We are on the front lines with the enemy, they
back us and do the bidding of His Word.

I had a funny experience having to do with angels. The Lord was trying to
teach me that angels are my helpers, and they are dispatched with assignment
the moment I pray. They are actually waiting for us to understand our authority,
so they can get busy and do what they do best. Often we have the resources
available to help many people, but they are not dispatched via the angels
because we do not pray.
Anyway, I had been thinking about angels, and wondering about my guardian
angel. Because I hear so much from the Lord at night, I often get enemy
opposition. So I have learned to take authority over such until I hear Him
clearly. One night I was wondering what giant, husky, warring angel the Lord
had posted beside me and feeling kind of cradled by the thought. Then bam,
I heard the enemy, so I rebuked it in Jesus Name, then prayed the blood of
Jesus over our door posts and then asked for a nice giant warring angel to
stand guard.
I heard the enemy say, "I think they want us to leave!" As I heard that,
I realized the enemy was talking about the angel standing guard as well as
myself and I was encouraged. Then I saw a picture vision of the face of a
very pretty girl angel. Her smile was so loving and precious and it was kind
of a tongue in cheek smile. I saw her eyes literally twinkle, and then she
winked at me! I was so astonished and then immediately I thought, "THIS is
my husky, giant, warring angel?????" My faith went to about zero. Then I
remembered the subtle ploy of trusting in angels, instead of the Lord, and
also the authority He’s given me. It was very funny and I instinctively
knew that the reason she winked was to say, "I guess we showed them!"
I learned something that day. Number one, I was a chauvinist! Number two,
the Lord wanted my faith in Him and in the authority He’s given me,
not my faith in the angel standing guard. Number three, my authority must
be more than I thought, or else with so much opposition, I would certainly
need a nice, burly angel to protect me - at least one with a sword! [Sorry
Lord, I just had to put that in!] The whole thing was very funny to me and
we all had a good laugh.

Our wills in ministry and the people’s wills in receiving are an important
part of the total package.

However you DO need to use your will. Whatever it takes to use your will,
then do so. There is no need to rush or feel pushed against our wills. We
may take breaks if need to, question the person, pray, worship, find refreshment.
DEMONIC WILLS
As stated before, the strength of the will in demons vary from very strong
to quite weak and timid. All must bow to the Name of Jesus. Some take longer
to bow. Some deliverers say that new believers often have radical demonic
manifestations while this decreases the longer one has been a Christian.
They say this is due to the demon coming under subjection to the will of
the Christian, as he subjects himself to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. This
lessens the demonic stronghold’s ability and freedom. We use our wills
to submit to God and also to resist the devil.
James 4:6-7 NKJV
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you.

not been made perfect in love.
> PROPHETIC SIGNS DECLARE HIS
WORD
God used the OT prophets to live and act as signs to represent His Word to
the people. He still uses the prophetic in the NT.
These prophetic signs make announcements to the spirit world. Demons are
literal and legal. They do not have any creative or interpretive skills.
They can only make a copy of something that is already created, like a facsimile,
but can not create something brand new. They do not understand the Words
or mysteries of God until we place meaning upon them.
God gives prophetic signs an authority in the spirit realm. These signs,
especially when mixed with faith and understanding carry powerful weapons
to the spirit world, since they gain their knowledge and understanding from
us.

If allowed, the demons will resist coming out. They know their limits and
know their doom, therefore they use whatever tactics they can think of to
resist. Demons may try the following, either against the deliverer or against
the one being delivered.

There is a lot of material written today about demonic "legal rights" and
the teaching has spread. The foundation of this teaching came from deliverance
sessions where demons refused to come out, saying they had a legal right
to stay.
It is important to remember that demons will claim what they call a legal
right all the time, if they are allowed. They fight for what they call their
"legal right" until we can stand in faith that they no longer have the right
to be there.
The truth is, demons have no legal rights. They were totally abolished in
every way through Jesus’ blood shed at the cross. Demons are very legal
because they are bound to the laws of God. They become offended when we do
not follow the law. And they are offended that that through Jesus Christ,
all men have been set free from the law.

Our overcoming the demonic world is based upon our faith in Jesus Christ

Jesus paid the price to purchase us from the curses of the law. Even so,
this did not abolish the law’s effects on us until we receive by faith
what He did.

HOW TO DEAL WITH A DEMONIC TACTIC
Do not to talk to it, discuss anything with it, bargain with it, barter with
it, compromise with it, negotiate with it. If you give a demon any barter
room, it will take it and demand more. Demons are not to work with, but to
drive out. There is no in between. They are to obey and bow to the Name of
Jesus Christ. They are to submit and vacate their premises and listening
to them only opens doors to compromise our faith. The best way to deal with
a demon is to COMMAND IT TO SHUT UP AND COME OUT in Jesus Name!

All demons come and go through doors, therefore opening and closing demonic
doors are an important part of deliverance. However, deliverance ministries
prioritize the importance of these doors differently and for various reasons
and beliefs. However in spite of the differences and motives for closing
these doors, it is important to note that a demonic door is a demonic door,
regardless of whether it is open or closed.

PRIORITIZING POINTS OF ENTRY
Some deliverance ministries focus on demonic points of entry, which is the
opened door that allowed the demon to enter. They do this because:
1. They feel it is necessary to call a demon out by name.
2. They feel if they know the particular door of entry they will be able
to close that particular door.
3. They have found through experience that closing the door stops a demonic
delay.
4. They have been told by demons that they have a "legal right" to stay.
5. In their ministry, they combine counseling and inner healing with deliverance,
and finding the point of entry is a natural bridge connecting all 3 platforms.
6. They feel if they dismantle the point of entry, the demon will be unable
to come back.
7. They feel knowledge of demonic doors helps identify demons.
PRIORITIZING POINTS OF CLOSURE
Other deliverers emphasize closing the doors more important, which keeps
them out. They do this because:
1. They do not feel it is necessary to call a demon out by name.
2. They feel closing ALL demonic doors is more important than finding the
one particular opened door.
3. They have found through experience that demons will delay if allowed.
4. They do not listen to demons. They understand Jesus and followers did
not discuss legal rights with demons and He abolished all demonic rights
at the cross.
5. They choose to counsel afterwards so the demon can not pervert or steal
what is being said.
6. They feel if they dismantle all demonic doors, the demon will be unable
to come back.
7. They feel knowledge of demonic doors, helps detect demons.
1) Inner healing and counseling ministries search these doors to help people
discover their childhood roots that are causing their adulthood wounds and
sick behavior patterns.
2) Deliverance ministries use these doors to either find their demonic source,
or close the demonic source as stated in the above chart.
3) Some deliverers use the following doors as pre-requisites to deliverance.
They found that closing these doors diffused demonic resistance.
4) TRUTH: All people should close these doors to STAY delivered and find
freedom in their life.
Demons can come and go with open doors, and a person not even know it. When
one becomes a Christian, often times he is delivered from many of his demons,
whether or not he knows this. Some leave on their own accord unannounced
and undetected at the time to find a home where they have more control. However
some are so afraid of finding a new home that they would rather stay hidden
in a home where they are subdued and controlled by the will of the Christian.
They stay because the Christian is ignorant of their existence as well as
realizing their authority to kick them out.

REJECTION
It is the common consensus of deliverers that most demons enter through the
door of rejection! We are created to be loved and when we are rejected it
leaves the door open for demonic infiltration. Rejection is the opposite
of giving and receiving love. We love, because we are loved. God first loved
us, therefore we love Him. (1 John 4:19)

THE ANTIDOTE
1) The cure for rejection is love.

2) The cure for rejection is forgiveness. That is why the Lord stressed
forgiveness so much. It is for our own protection. Jesus even included it
in His model prayer. That prayer was the most basic, with the most essential
elements included.

Some people find it hard to be planted in a church fellowship. This could

King James calls it a causeless curse. Causeless in the Hebrew is related
to our word gratuity. (Like paying tips in a restaurant.) Causeless means
devoid of cost, devoid of reason or devoid of advantage. It come from a root
word meaning favor and grace.

This works three ways. When evil curses us, they must pay a price to do so,

also receive the benefit of being cursed. This suggests that we pay the penalty
for our sins, and God allows this so that we can receive the benefit!

that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus,
that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Our freedom from being cursed is in appropriating what Jesus did for us.
This happens through confession of our sins, asking forgiveness, renouncing
our ties with such and declaring to the enemy that Jesus paid our price!
As a sidebar, the scripture tells us to know the kindness and severity of
God. Remember the root word to a causeless curse, is favor. We can live in
God’s favor and also live under His judgment. He is sovereign and will
have mercy upon whom He wills. (Rom 9:15)
Rom 11:22-23 NAS
Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity,
but to you, God's kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you
also will be cut off.
BLESS OUR ENEMIES AND SHAKE THE DEMONIC CURSES OFF

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good
to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute
you…

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse…. 17 Repay
no one evil for evil… 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather
give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,"
says the Lord. Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty,
give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Matt 10:12-15 NLT
When you are invited into someone's home, give it your blessing. 13 If
it turns out to be a worthy home, let your blessing stand; if it is not,
take back the blessing. 14 If a village doesn't welcome you or listen to
you, shake off the dust of that place from your feet as you leave.
This verse implies that when we give a blessing to someone unworthy, it returns
to us and we get blessed. Therefore when we bless our enemies and those who
curse us, it comes back to us as a blessing, since they are unworthy. It
is like the opposite principle suggesting that a causeless blessing shall
not alight!
Shaking the dust of our feet can be a parable of shaking the demonic curses
off ourselves when God’s Word returns to us. Remember the scripture
where Jesus talked about house being "swept" clean. Back then they swept
their floors from the dust and the dirt carried in on their feet.
Luke 11:25-26 NLT
So it returns and finds that its former home is all swept and clean. 26
Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they
all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than
before."
So in context we bless our enemies, and we shake the demonic curses off.

Deliverers also agree that watching and hearing evil and violence through
TV/movies opens doors to the demonic. Eye gates are a source of torment when
we do not cast out evil associations.

ceremonially cursed with demons attached.

utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
ITEMS OF WITCHCRAFT
Acts 19:18-20 NLT
Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. 19 A number
of them who had been practicing magic brought their incantation books and
burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million
dollars. 20 So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful
effect.
FROG IDOLS
One common idol that is commonly accepted within Christian circles are frogs
in the home. (Toys, license plates, etc) In the OT they were used as a curse
to the Egyptians. In the NT they are predominant spirits in last day events.
Rev 16:13-14
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the
dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false
prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go
forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them
to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
None of us have dragons in our homes - why would we have frogs?
I had a personal intercessory experience concerning a frog spirit. I attended
an out of town concert and noticed that the Lord’s Presence was not
there like I expected and I was disappointed and asked the Lord why. During
intermission I went up front near the stage to look at their equipment, since
I was a keyboardist on a worship team at my church. I was stunned when I
saw 2 stuffed frogs sitting on the keyboard of the band’s leader.
I remembered reading Howard Pitman’s book, Placebo. In that book, he
had died and went to heaven. In the process, the Lord showed him demons on
earth and one of them he saw entering a person was the frog spirit of lust.
As I stared at those frogs on his keyboard, I bound the spirit of lust and
any frog spirit ruling over his ministry in Jesus Name.
For a period of several months during that time I was walking several times
a week in an early morning walker’s program at the mall. As I passed
the stores, my eyes were suddenly drawn to frogs everywhere. I was amazed
how many frogs had entered the market place… including Christian bookstores.
Every time I saw a frog I bound the frog spirit over this person’s ministry
in Jesus Name. This occurred a few times per walk, several times per week,
for a period of about 3 months. A few months later I found out (without telling
anyone about this) that this person had repented of adultery in his ministry
and had chosen to take himself out of ministry and come under church discipline.
No one was more surprised than me. It was a simple thing to do, with great
results… all due to a couple of stuffed frogs on someone’s keyboard!
By the way, one of those stuffed frogs was Kermie. (Sorry!)
I was so grossed out when I read about the frog spirit of lust in Howard’s
book, that it permanently killed my tolerance for frogs of any kind. To me,
they represent evil spirits and I would not have such a thing in my home.
However do remember that our war is a war by faith not in works. Yet neither
do we want to glorify the enemy with works representing evil. I don’t
like dragons and I don’t like frogs.
> OTHER
DOORS
Those who work in full time deliverance ministry agree that demons also enter
through other doors. Among these are: acupuncture, body piercing, hypnosis,
anesthesia, tattoos, homeopathic medications. Participation in such does
not mean you have a demon, but it does mean that a door is open for such.
Remember deliverers have thousands of experiences in demonic manifestations
and also see the results of them leaving. There are many, many testimonies
of demonic deliverance experiences related to each one of these doors. Anesthesia
is a drug that leaves one vulnerable without one’s will being involved.
Also if there is an unholy environment in surgery, it leaves one vulnerable
to it without prayer backup. It was a well known fact that homeopathic
medications were at one time only available from and mixed by witches. They
have now become an ‘acceptable’ means of medicine in health food
stores and the market place. Many have testimonies related to pierced ears,
body piercing and tattoos. These are scriptural laws.

RELIGIONS
MASONIC VOWS
It is important to understand a little background about the Masonic orders
because even if we do not belong to a Masonic order, we are directly affected
if our ancestors were involved. As a man becomes a mason, he takes oaths
and vows that cover his family and his progeny. Each level of Masonic order
binds another oath and vow to the last level. There are over 30 oaths and
vows taken as the various branches of the Masonic orders rise. These masons
say the oaths without understanding that the oaths carry curses and evil
spirits passed down to their families. These curses can become null and void
in Jesus Name and the spirits attached to such can be broken off. How awesome
that Jesus paid the price for us! All we have to do is appropriate His work
at the cross.
Masonic orders include: Freemasonry, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shriners,
DeMolay, Eastern Star, Daughters of Issath, Daughters of the Nile, Job’s
daughters, Rainbow girls, Woodsmen of the World, Amaranth, Knights Templar.
Other vows from the Moose Lodge, Elks, Lions, and others.
OTHER VOWS
Other vows are taken through: membership in clubs, fraternities, sororities.
False religions of Christian Science, Unity, Science of the Mind, Religious
Science, New Age, Cults, Eastern religions, Mormonism, also any religion
that mixes reincarnation and balancing karma with Christianity.
RENOUNCE VOWS
"In the name of Jesus I renounce all associations and vows made in my
participation with ___. I break any demonic curse or demonic attachment from
that vow in Jesus Name. You are now null and void. Father, I ask that You
forgive the sins of my ancestors for partaking in evil deceptions and oaths.
I forgive them for their influence upon my life. I break every vow, oath
and curse taken through my ancestors and I break their power over my life
and my progeny in Jesus Name. I loose the blood of Jesus to flow through
my blood line and onto my progeny.
Do we deliver non believers? Up until now, most Deliverers agree that this
is futile, lest they become worse later. However as we begin to see the power
of God increase in our meetings, demons in unbelievers may cry out and
deliverance may occur. These non believers will need counsel on how to accept
Jesus.

That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
John 5:14 NKJ
See you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon
you.

he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 "Then he goes and
takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter
and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

Spirit.)
There are exceptions to delivering non believers. Pastor Dale Howell quote:
"Consider the woman with the familiar spirit in Acts 16:17 who followed Paul
crying out daily, "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim
to us the way of salvation." It is obvious that she was not born again and
yet Paul cast the demons out. We have the authority to cast out all demons.
My wife and I once cast 7 demons out of a former satanist who the demons
would not allow to speak. They had gained entry by her personally inviting
them in. We did not need her to un-invite them or repent in order to get
her delivered. Of course once she was free, we led her in a prayer of repentance
and renunciation in order to close all doors behind the expelled spirits."
> EXAMPLES OF SIMPLE SENTENCES
OF COUNSEL
If a person is manifesting a demon, and is stuck in the manifestation stage
and unable to get free in a public service (after authority is taken) there
may be reasons that the demon remains. It is in this place that the person
needs counsel. Through a Word of Knowledge, the need for counsel may be simple
and only a matter of whispering to the person a couple of sentences. If they
comply, the spirit may leave and it will be taken care of quickly and simply
at that time. Examples might be:
"Forgive your parents."
"Take a deep, deep breath."
"Try a forceful cough."
"Confess the sin that the Holy Spirit is bringing to your mind right now."
"Say Jesus!" (When the person’s will needs to be exercised against the
spirit.)
"Pray in your mind."
"Keep your tongue silent and your mouth open."
"Jesus loves you, He wants to set you free."
"Do not be afraid. We are fighting with you."
"We are speaking to the demon right now, remember we love you and are on
your side."
"Renounce any unholy vow or oath from your past."
Simple sentences of the Word of Knowledge can be ministered in prayer. "Lord
help such n’ such to forgive those who have rejected him. Help him forgive
whoever You bring to mind right now." "Jesus we love this person and know
how much You love him. We are fighting for him in Your Name, and we ask Your
delivering love and mercy for him. Now we take authority over this foul demon
in the name of Jesus…"
SIMPLE QUESTIONS
Something may be stirring in your heart about their past associations with
unholy things. You might ask them a simple question like, have you ever
participated in such n’ such? Or the Holy Spirit may whisper to you
one word and you might re-phrase it as a question that helps bring what is
hidden to light. "Does the word such n’ such mean anything to you?"
> DEEPER LEVELS OF
COUNSEL
There are other incidences where more thorough counsel and research is necessary.
Usually when one demon manifests there are others linked to the same demon
family. This may require some time outside of a traditional public service.
The Holy Spirit can make these needs manifest through the minister’s
knowledge of the victim’s personal life, or how long they have been
a Christian, etc.
If a public meeting has obviously taken a turn towards deliverance and several
are manifesting demons under the power of His Presence, and teams are praying
and working with people, then the team may decide to go ahead and work through
some of these counsel issues based upon how much time they have, how many
people are waiting to be ministered to, and how easy it is to hear what is
being communicated. Sometimes it is impossible because the music is too loud,
or those praying elsewhere are causing too much noise to communicate effectively.
DELIVERANCE IS A PROCESS
The Lord delivers people layer upon layer, usually one at a time. In the
case of Mary Magdalene, they knew 7 separate devils had come out of her.
These obviously occurred one at a time, otherwise they would not have been
counted. Help the person understand that deliverance takes time.
Luke 8:2-3
…and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and
infirmities--Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven
demons…
The Old Testament giants and other enemies depict the demons we fight in
the spiritual world. Also the demonic world takes everything literally. When
we believe in faith that something is applicable to our lives, they apply
it that way too.
Ex 23:30
I will drive them out before you little by little, until you become fruitful
and take possession of the land.
Deut 7:22-24 NLT
The LORD your God will drive those nations out ahead of you little by
little. You will not clear them away all at once, for if you did, the wild
animals would multiply too quickly for you. 23 But the LORD your God will
hand them over to you. He will throw them into complete confusion until they
are destroyed. 24 He will put their kings in your power, and you will erase
their names from the face of the earth. No one will be able to stand against
you, and you will destroy them all.
BUILDING SPIRITUAL MUSCLE
Spiritual muscles are needed within the person so that the demons will stay
out once they are cast out. Help the person understand the need to be disciplined
in his walk of obedience to the Word of God, learn to stand and resist the
demonic influence, say no to temptations, call upon the name of the Lord,
bind the enemy, etc!
Luke 10:19 NKJ
"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt
you.
BEING A PART OF THE TEAM
It is important for the person to know they are a part of the team and the
team is not going to be doing something "TO" them. Rather they will be doing
something "WITH" them… That something is agreeing with them, that they
do not want this demon any longer, and they are joining forces to drive it
from its home. There are some practical things they can do to help join the
team.
KEEPING THE EXIT CLEAR
Quote from Derek Prince: "After you have said your prayer for deliverance
begin to expel. That is a decision of your will, followed by an action of
your muscles. At the same time, make a way for the demon to come out. Keep
the exit clear! Do not go on praying or start to speak in tongues. I have
discovered that movement of the lips and tongue in speech acts as a barrier
to keep the demon in."

USING THE WILL TO FIGHT
Quote from Derek Prince: "Are you prepared to fight for yourself? If so,
I’ll fight together with you and we’ll win. But if you are not
prepared to fight for yourself, I’m not going to fight on my own…
… (cont quote) I have no faith, however, for people who simply remain
passive without taking their own stand against the enemy… As a general
rule, I do not pray for those who expect to be released only on the basis
of my prayers. A person unwilling to take an active stand against the demon
will probably not have the defenses to keep it from returning."

PROVIDING INFORMATION
Sometimes they will hear a voice inside their thoughts telling them a name,
threats, or miscellaneous information. The Holy Spirit may bring a past memory
to mind. Encourage them to share when these things become manifest.
BEING LOVED
Encourage them that they are loved. They will feel very nervous if they have
not ever gone through deliverance before.
QUOTE FROM FRANK HAMMOND: "Afterward, we asked our daughter-in-law to tell
us what she was experiencing during the deliverance. She could hear the demon
speaking through her, but at the same time her spirit was in perfect peace.
She said, Big dad, (as she called me), I saw such love in your eyes. I saw
the love of Jesus in your eyes."
BEING REASSURED
They need to be reassured. Help them understand who you are speaking to when
you take authority. Help them understand what they may feel by the way of
demonic manifestations and what they may feel when the demons leave. Help
them to understand no matter what happens there is nothing to be ashamed
of. Demons are filthy garbage and that is what we are here for is to help
them get clean without shame.
BEING HUMBLE & TRUTHFUL
Jesus resists the proud and embraces the humble. In their confessions, they
need to be very honest and humble and hold back no secrets. This brings light
to the demons and lets them know they are no longer friends, but denounced
enemies.
1 Peter 5:5 NKJV
Be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to
the humble.
John 8:32 NKJV
Jesus said, ... the truth will set you free.
> SPEAKING OUT
LOUD
After various levels of counsel, in preparation for deliverance they speak
out loud their confessions:
1. Acknowledge Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, as Lord and Savior.
2. Confess unconfessed sins. (James 5:16 Confess faults/sins to be healed.)
3. Repent of sinning (Quote Prince: God delivers us from our enemies not
our friends.)
4. Forgive Matt 18:32-35 NLT
5. Renounce all ties with occult and religions.
6. Renounce all unholy soul ties. (Family, friends, business, church, heroes,
music, animals. I Cor 15:33,34)
7. Renounce sins and/or confess their physical needs for healing.
8. Confess that Jesus became a curse to release them from all curses. (Gal
3:13)
9. Submit to God and resist the devil. (Use their wills to fight) (James
4:7)
10. Pray the following prayer.
> PRAYING FOR
DELIVERANCE
This prayer is used by Derek Prince and Frank Hammond. They recommend that
each person on the team keep a copy of this prayer in their Bible. They lead
the person to pray this prayer prior to deliverance. It is his confession
of sin and forgiveness, statement of belief, renouncement of sin and demons
in his life. This prayer cover the basics.
"Lord Jesus I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from
the dead. You redeemed me by Your blood and I belong to You and I want to
live for You.
I confess all my sins - known and unknown - I’m sorry for them all.
I renounce them all. I forgive all others as I want You to forgive me. Forgive
me now and cleanse me with Your blood. I thank You for the blood of Jesus
Christ which cleanses me from all sin.
And I come to You now as My deliverer. You know my special needs - the thing
that binds, that torments, that defiles: that evil spirit, that unclean spirit
- I claim the promise of Your Word, "Whosoever calls on the Name of the Lord
shall be delivered." I call upon You now. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
deliver me and set me free. satan, I renounce you and all your works. I loose
myself from you, in the Name of Jesus, and I command you to leave me right
now in Jesus Name. Amen!"
The demons know division, distrust, and weak faith. If one person in the
team is judging, accusing, distrusting what others are doing, then it weakens
the authority of those standing. They must learn to flow together and have
confidence in each other’s gifts.
Lev 26:7-8
And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the
sword.
And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put
ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the
sword.
If one member begins to build up or exhort while the Holy Spirit is delivering,
it can stop the deliverance process.
If one is building up and another is tearing down, it leaves the person feeling
raped, dismembered and confused.
Unity does not mean conformity in a traditional sense. An example of conformity
would be one person being the leader, another person is a scripture person,
and etc where each stay within a niche.
Unity is taking turns with the ebb and flow of the Holy Spirit, depending
upon people’s gifts and faith at that moment. It is like the geese in
a V formation. While one is in the lead position for a moment, the others
are either backing what is being said, or listening to the Holy Spirit for
the next step or layer. As the first person is done, when under the unction
of the Holy Spirit, the next person shares and so on. It may bounce back
and forth like a basketball, but what is important is not who is speaking,
but that the theme stays fairly consistent in the overall goal of dismantling
the prison bars.
Learn to share your portion, then hold back and let another share. While
you are waiting, listen to the theme and how your gift will fit in.

CRITERIA
As the Holy Spirit leads:

All team members should be baptized in the Holy Spirit and be willing to
speak in tongues fluently and openly. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is our
enduement with power from upon high. Tongues is our direct pipeline to God,
and it keeps the enduement pumping!
The team can change places and interchange as the Holy Spirit gives them
gifts and unction.
We are coming into a time where massive, corporate deliverance’s will
be taking place in meetings, as the Holy Spirit’s Presence gets stronger.
A team needs to be used to working together so that when demons manifest
in meetings, they immediately know what to do, where to go and how to take
care of it. If the team decides to take care of it in another room, the team
needs to know the roll they will take and be able to fluently move into place.

2. Cover family & loved ones in blood of Jesus.
3. Bind all demonic realm, from the highest to the lowest in Jesus Name,
forbidding them to communicate with each other and to be empowered by higher
powers. (You do this by commanding them to become deaf, dumb & blind
to one another and breaking off all powers from higher authority.)
4. Prepare the environment (tongues, scriptures, scribe, worship, words of
knowledge and discernment.)
5. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal or make manifest the demons ready for judgment.
6. Command demons to come out, go or leave in Jesus Name.
7. They expel (spirits = Gk. breath or wind) Sighing, yawning, sobbing, groaning,
coughing, screaming, roaring, burping, sneezing, gagging, throwing up. (You
may have to remind them to open their mouth, but not use their tongue, and
to take deep breaths or volunteer coughs or yawns.)
8. Send the demons to the place of your choice. Command they NOT return.
9. Invite the Holy Spirit to fill the holes. (Matt 12:44 swept clean and
empty)
10. Loose healing into the soul, body and wounded areas caused by the demons.
