PENNIES FROM HEAVEN
[Go Sent Ones, You are Commissioned]
For several years the Lord has brought my attention to
pennies on the ground. At first I thought it was
unusual, especially when I was not looking for them. It
wasn’t long before the Lord started impressing me that
one cent was His Word pun for "One sent." Every time I
would see these little tiny treasures just waiting for
me, it became a love gift of His precious promises.
I had no desire to pick them up off the dirty ground,
but I would always call out, "One sent" and rejoice in
these special reminders from Him. My precious husband,
however, would bend low and pick up each penny. I don’t
know if it was a team gift or something, but I saw and
called them and he retrieved and kept them.
============
A LITTLE PROMPT
One day I bumped into an old acquaintance who was being
used by the Lord as a sent one to Israel. She was
preparing to move over there instead of taking more
trips back and forth. We were standing in the parking
lot talking about this and I glanced down at her feet
and called out "Sent one!" Her eyes filled with tears as
she glanced down, then bent low to retrieve the penny.
She said, "This is your penny, you found it." I insisted
that it was the Lord’s Word to her, that she was called
and sent and it was at her feet, and she was meant to
have the penny as a reminder. She debated, but finally
accepted the penny and that was that. As I left the
conversation, the Holy Spirit quickened to me that this
gal had been quite persistent because the Lord was
telling me that I was sent and it was my penny. I
received it in my heart as a special gift from the Lord,
and then I promptly forgot about it.
============
A STRONGER PROMPT
A few weeks later I was on a prophetic team to teach a
workshop on the many ways God speaks. I spent the night
in the home of my team mate. I was in her bathroom and
there at my feet was a shiny new penny. I happily
brought it out to her saying she was a "sent one." Once
again, the same exact conversation was repeated that I’d
had with the lady sent to Israel.
============
HE HAS THE LAST WORD
The next morning I was getting my things ready to
shower. I laid my folded towel and washcloth on the
carpeted floor in front of the shower because the towel
bar was broken. They were one on top of the other, just
as I had found them on the counter. However, being out
of context without my home shower paraphernalia, I
forgot to use the washcloth. When I was through
showering, I opened the shower door to reach for the
towel. There was the perfectly folded bath towel and the
folded washcloth sitting squarely on top of it. Planted
like a cherry on top of the washcloth, in the exact
center - was that bright, shiny new penny. My mouth hung
open and I gawked. I quickly glanced at the bathroom
door and it was shut tight. I doubted very much that the
hostess would have popped in while I was showering since
the shower door was glass. Besides that, the door stuck
and was noisy when shutting tightly. Finally I just
stood there giggling as I looked at that perfectly
positioned penny. It was aligned in exact center
position, as though to say, "This was specifically
placed there FOR YOU." He got me good, He had the last
Word.
Ruth 2:16 NLT
And pull out some heads of barley from the bundles and
drop them on purpose for her. Let her pick them up, and
don't give her a hard time!"

UPDATES
A couple of weeks later I finally had the courage to ask
the lady if she had come into the bathroom and placed
that penny. She assured me she did not. She did have a
cat, but the door needed a strong tug to close that
tightly. There was no doubt about it, the Lord sent His
angel to plant that penny.
A week later I opened my Christmas present from my
Sonshine and his sweetheart, our new daughter in law. It
was a mouse. With both hands in the air, the little
mouse was holding a penny on top of its head. The penny
was heads up. A second penny was sitting on its tail,
tails up. I put that little treasure on my desk and look
at it every day and it warms my heart.
A couple of weeks after that, my husband found a shiny
new penny on the ground right in front of our car door.
He picked it up and stacked it on top of the mouse’s
head with the other penny. If you pick the mouse up and
tip it over like a tea pot pouring out, there is a
banner that reads, "A penny for your thoughts." Yes
indeed, heads or tails, the Lord has the last Word no
matter which direction you look.

UPDATE CONFIRMATION [2/22/04]: After I had written this
penny post and entitled it "Pennies From Heaven," Wayne
and I were walking in the mall parking lot and he had
just said the phrase, "A cascading effect." At that
moment I felt a penny drop on the top of my foot and
then bounce off onto the road. I had not scuffed my feet
and distinctly remember feeling it on the top of my big
toe. I wondered if heaven had dropped it! Wayne and I
were talking about this amazing penny as we reached the
car. I saw that he noticed something on the ground as he
was sliding in. Then he leaned out the door and said,
"So what’s a lug nut represent?" Lord You are just too
funny!
Isa 22:22-23 AMP
And the key of the house of David I will lay upon his
shoulder; he shall open and no one shall shut, he shall
shut and no one shall open. And I will fasten him like a
peg or nail in a firm place; and he will become a throne
of honor and glory to his father's house.

WORD TO PONDER: SHINY TREASURES IN SMALL PACKAGES
My Beloved one, I love to plant My special love gifts
just to warm your heart. I will never grow tired of
circling My Words to you. I rejoice in reaffirming your
calling, giving My never ending love for you and basking
in My gratefulness that you love My Word so dearly.
All over the earth I have My sent ones, each a precious
treasure planted exactly on the spot, exactly perfect
for their mission. And each one of these "hidden in
plain view" treasures have My Word tucked within them.
As bowed over ones draw near to receive My Word, these
shiny ones shall pour out like pennies from heaven, one
little Word at a time. With each morsel of quickened
Words and deeds, they pour My heart upon a world full of
goods, but poor in humble pennies. Soon the whole world
shall draw near for just one penny sent from Me. Sent
ones, how wealthy you are!

And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a
one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
~ THREE LITTLE PENNIES ~
Hi Loved Ones
The Lord often speaks to me through daily life parables.
I love it when He speaks to me this way! It is true when
one has a full grown language of interpretation that
anything in life can have a symbolic meaning, but He
says, only what is quickened by His Spirit gives life.
"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth
nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are
spirit, and they are life." (John 6:63 KJV) And so I
have learned to tune into those little daily true life
stories that He quickens as His Word. Usually when these
kind of "Words" happen, I walk them out, then suddenly
He breaths life on them and I realize the spiritual
significance to what just occurred and how it applies to
what He is saying to me. Even more fun is when I get a
word of knowledge that something about to occur is one
of those kind of Words. Recently I had one such Word.
As a background to this story, He had told me that He
was bringing me into a training time in deeper levels of
certain gifts. His key Word was "training." The story
begins as I am pulling my cart up to the long grocery
store lines and trying to figure out which line is the
shortest. I glanced at the shortest line and noticed the
sign that said, "Checker in training." The Lord imparted
to my heart that He had a parable for me. Now I had some
preconceived ideas about this checker in training! He
had the shortest line because he was so slow. He would
take forever looking up the fresh food. He would make
mistakes and have to call the manager. He would not make
mistakes and still have to call the manager.
All my life I have been given the wonderful gift of
watching, listening and analyzing people’s lives,
learning from their hard life lessons, and adjusting my
choices so I didn’t make the same mistakes. This is a
part of having a teachable spirit. I had it all figured
out ahead of time that the Lord was about to give me one
of those negative parables for my own good. "For if we
would judge ourselves, we would not be judged." (1 Cor
11:31 NKJV)
I cringed as I took my place in line, watching this
checker carefully. Soon it was my turn and I watched
every move he made! He greeted me pleasantly. He didn’t
hesitate, he didn’t void out an entry, he didn’t call
the manager and he made it through the vegies just fine.
I had been so expecting him to make a mistake I was
disappointed when nothing was quickened to me! While I
am writing the check, I asked, "Lord, I don’t get it,
what was the parable?" I handed him the check and waited
for the receipt. He handed me 3 pennies with a smile.
Incredulously I stared at the pennies. "You mean I wrote
the check for 3 pennies over????" He smiled graciously
and said, "Yes." I thanked him and felt like they had
been 3 million dollars.
As a child I used to hear people say, "A penny saved is
a penny earned." Nowadays pennies don’t buy much and no
one really cares about pennies. But God still cares
about pennies.
He was telling me that in my season of training, He
wasn’t interested in how slow it took me to catch on,
how many mistakes I made, how many times I had to stop
everything and call on Him to bail me out and whether or
not I had all the correct answers in memory! What He was
asking was that I be faithful in the little things and
He would take care of the rest. I felt so loved when I
left that store.
I pray that if you are carrying loads that are too
heavy, you will find your way back to the Lord’s lap and
ask Him to help you to be faithful in the little things.
Matt 11:28-29 TLB
"Come to me and I will give you rest-all of you who work
so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Wear my yoke-for it fits
perfectly-and let me teach you; for I am gentle and
humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; for I
give you only light burdens."
Matt 25:21 TLB
"His master praised him for good work. `You have been
faithful in handling this small amount,' he told him,
`so now I will give you many more responsibilities.
Begin the joyous tasks I have assigned to you.' "

Sandy
A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS
9/10/99
Hi Loved Ones,
Since my posting last week on pennies, it seems that
there are others out there who also delight in little
things like pennies from the Lord and their spiritual
penny jars are growing! I was intrigued by some of the
responses and felt you would enjoy some of the insights
shared.
Lovingly,
Sandy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi Sandy,
I loved the word and teaching the Lord gave you and my
spirit is soaring as I write. You see Sandy, the Lord
began to teach me a valuable lesson about pennies that
started 15 years ago. In the early Morning I would begin
my time with the Lord, walking and praying. This way, no
one could disrupted our time together. It would make my
time with Him so meaningful as I walked my 3-4 miles.
One morning as I walked, I spotted a penny. The Lord
prompted me to pick it up...which began 15 years of
teaching. He told me not to despise small beginnings and
menial tasks. Just as the penny seemed like mere
nothings.. add them up and they become worthwhile. I
looked forward to our walks and again as I walked very
early I began to find more pennies. I would know that
these pennies were placed there for me to find and so I
began to praise the Lord for each penny I found. He told
me not to spend these pennies and so I got a jar and one
day my jar became full of wonderful reminders of our
times together and His Words to me.
One time I was watching TV and a show had an experiment
to see if people would pick up pennies on the sidewalk.
Funny, how the majority looked at these pennies but kept
walking. It wasn't worth bending over. Some Christians
are that way to certain ministries. They want the
prestigious work but don't want their hands dirty.
The Lord taught me many things because of the pennies.
Just the other day they had a call for pennies because
they were getting so scarce. Funny, how valuable
something as small as a penny can become.
In His love,
Sandy,
Has the Lord said anything else to you about pennies? He
is driving me crazy with pennies...has been for over a
year...Last year it was one...then in 99 He started
giving me two at a time....three days I have had 5 in a
day...different places and 5 is Benjamin's portion....
I had 15 in one day last week...a dime and 5
pennies...in different places. I am a nurse and I am
finding them at my feet when I get out of the car...at
the thresholds of houses I walk into and at my feet at a
bedside while caring for a patient.
I have had people say they mean:
One sent
In God we trust
Liberty
I went to the house of one of my patients today...I had
shared with her about the gold from Silvania's hair and
had shown it to her...I got some when she was here in
Atlanta. On my home visit last week, I had told the Lord
I would pray for her if He would give me a penny on my
way to the car to get my Bible...and He gave me two
pennies. I was able to show her the gold and tell her of
the miraculous healing of cancer that Silvania
experienced.
Anyway, she has cancer too and had been told she had two
months to live in February. I asked if I could come back
today. It was a glorious time of asking for forgiveness
for the sins of the white against the black. She was
able to release some past hurts as a result and was able
to embrace me as she forgave....as did her sister and
daughter.
Since the other day, she has not been in pain and is no
longer on pain medicine. Long story short, the pennies
are giving me boldness to step out as ONE SENT.
Thank you Sandy. It is so amazing to think that God
really does care about the little things, and so often
we don't even take the time to pray about the little
things because we don't want to "bother" Him with these
little things. and yet...it is His desire to show us HOW
much HE cares even by giving us those little things.
Sandy,
Thanks for the really encouraging modern parable about
the "CHECKER IN TRAINING and the 3 PENNIES".
One thing that stood out as soon I read it was the
freshness of the attitude of the young trainee. Sweet,
simple and done with excellence and genuineness. This
was an example of his stewardship of his responsibility.
This is often how it is with someone who is just
starting off in some ministry area for the Lord Jesus.
The 'old-hands" sometimes stand-back, be skeptical,
think new ones can't do the job adequately maybe not
even "stand in their queue". However the Lord knows
genuine hearts and we sometimes need to be challenged
that He gives the grace to do anything in his Kingdom -
be it preach, give a word, serve the tables or sing a
new song.
In fact as we stand back, release, open the way,
facilitate and believe along with the
young sheep, we can have the great joy - with the Lord
of the Harvest of seeing the
sweet genuineness of fresh new, keen service - TO HIM.
Dear Sandy,
I was VERY blessed by your word on the Elijah List.
Another way you could see your event...was that even
though we are in training, God is faithful to bring us
through in confidence and professionalism. He is there
even when we do not know what we are doing and at the
same time turn the table on those who may be prejudging
us to be a certain way.
I also noticed that #3, as in 3 pennies, is a "divine"
number and copper is listed under brass which can
represent judgment against disobedience. You were
faithful and obedient to support those in training and
now He has placed His divine judgment in your hands.
Much Love to you. Thank you again for sharing.
Dear Sandy,
Thank you for your three pennies story.
Some time ago the Lord told me to never let the devil
steal a single penny from me. That very same day someone
shortchanged me a penny in a convenience store, and my
soul felt a little awkward and foolish asking for the
penny. But I did, and it was given to me.
The Lord cares about the very little things in our
lives, and He is also especially concerned about some of
the very little ways in which some compromise and give
the devil his way.
He reminded me of the verse:
Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the
vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
~Song of Solomon 2: 15
We may do well at obeying what we perceive to be the
larger things and yet lose the battle through doing or
not doing the small things. Incomplete or delayed
obedience is still disobedience. He used the penny to
show me that I was careless in small matters and that
some very small matters carried great consequences.
Thank you for your faithfulness in relating this story.
God used it to remind me and warn me of certain things
in my life.
Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were
invited to spend the weekend at the husband's employer's
home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend.
The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the
waterway, and cars costing more than her house.
The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was
delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very
wealthy live. The husband's employer was quite generous
as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants.
Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to
indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was
enjoying herself immensely.
As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive
restaurant that evening, the boss was walking slightly
ahead of Arlene and her husband. He stopped suddenly,
looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment.
Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him There
was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny
that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts.
Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the
penny.
He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as
if he had found a great treasure. How absurd! What need
did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even
take the time to stop and pick it up?
Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her.
Finally, she could stand it no longer. She causally
mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection,
and asked if the penny he had found had been of some
value.
A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into
his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see.
She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of
this? "Look at it." He said. "Read what it says." She
read the words "United Sates of America."
"No, not that; read further." "One cent?" "No, keep
reading." "In God we Trust?" "Yes!" "And?" "And if I
trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin.
Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is
written on every single United States coin, but we never
seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of
me telling me to trust Him? Who am I to pass it by? When
I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust IS in
God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to
God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least,
I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way
of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is
patient and pennies are plentiful!
When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the
sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that
I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things
I cannot change. I read the words, "In God We Trust,"
and had to laugh. Yes, God, I get the message.
It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number
of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are
plentiful! And, God is patient...
VOLUNTEER SENT ONES FOR THE YEAR 2011 AND BEYOND
9/18/10 DAY OF ATONEMENT
PIX: I saw several inches of pennies inside a coffee can
on the street.
HEARD: Those who are willing, will take a journey.
[Lord does each penny represent one person being sent?]
HEARD: yes.
PIX: I saw the word, YOU being written.
HEARD: You. You can do this. How? By listening. Keep
your eye on the ball. I will be pitching to you really
slow.
HEARD: The Bible tells us we must be born again. Find
it.
John 3:3-8 NKJV
Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say
to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the
kingdom of God." 4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man
be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into
his mother's womb and be born?" 5 Jesus answered, "Most
assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and
the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That
which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is
born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I
said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows
where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but
cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is
everyone who is born of the Spirit."
1 Peter 1:22-25 NKJV
Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love
one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been
born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible,
through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
24 because "All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of
man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And
its flower falls away, 25 But the word of the Lord
endures forever." Now this is the word which by the
gospel was preached to you.
PIX: I saw someone give a cassette tape and a transcript
of the Word that they gave a person.
RHEMA 9/10/10 MY PURPOSES FOR YOU ARE UNIQUE
HEARD: My purposes for you are unique.
EXPERIENCE: I was speaking in tongues and heard penny.
HEARD: Penny. Exactly right on target. I agree. Both.
Yes.
COMMENTS: The year 2010 began a birthing of God's power
(with Psalms 110:3 being the scripture of the year) for
those who are willing to pray for people. That year,
5770 is a foundation for a decade of years to 5780.
Every year there will be more and more pennies (sent
ones) sent to the streets to pray for strangers, give
them the Word of God, healing, deliverance and
salvation.
WORD TO PONDER: SENT ONES, I WILL TEACH YOU 9/18/10
Dear volunteers, brave in your obedience and driven by
compassion, I will teach you how to be sent outside of
church walls. Keep Your eyes and ears in listening mode,
to be divinely and instinctively led to the right people
at the right time. I will give you signs as clues to
their need, I will halt your attention and focus and you
will clearly see to the matter at hand. I will send you
My Word and if you keep your focus in seeking My lead,
you shall hit home runs and bring salvations, healings,
deliverances and prophetic Words to those who would
never walk into a church without your rescue. You may
feel that all you have to offer is a simple penny to the
cause, but when I send you, you are backed with heaven's
resources and we shall work along side you to minister
into the hearts and lives of men.
Ps 110:3-4 NKJV
Your people shall be volunteers In the day of Your
power; In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the
morning, You have the dew of Your youth. The Lord has
sworn And will not relent, "You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek."
