FINDING THAT CERTAIN PLACE TO MEET THE LORD

10/16/26 FINDING THAT CERTAIN PLACE TO MEET THE LORD

The Lord is so amazing. So this morning I listened to a YouTube about prayer and she mentioned having a special place set aside for time with God. She gave this scripture, of which I had never noticed such an emphasis before:

Luke 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a CERTAIN PLACE, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

She had turned a closet into a tiny desk alcove with room for her Bible with no online devices to distract her. It made me hungry to seek the Lord so I went to back bed to prayer under my warm blanket. I prayed what was on my heart and although I had already read scripture, prayed again, and was quiet with Him, I still didn’t feel like I had my daily bread. I felt unsettled. I began pondering the places that I seek Him – some of them are seasonal, like the back deck in a sunbeam. I thought for a cold winter morning I would like to get a new cover for Anna’s rocking chair that I had inherited and have another way to enjoy my bedroom time with Him without distractions. I am looking forward to enjoying that little place with the Lord.

A few hours later when I went to facebook, I saw that Bobby Conner had posted an amazing confirmation!!

The secret place is a place of quiet separation. The secret place is a place of God’s own choosing.

Finally I looked up what I had heard Him whisper to me in the early hours this morning. I was so surprised! As always, He had responded to my prayer even before I prayed it – I needed settling!!

HEARD: I will comfort you. I am here. I will settle you and bring you into your resting place. Be assured, remain in Me.

There are so many ways to seek Him. We can pray anywhere and anytime! But what really matters is that we truly CONNECT with Him in a meaningful way, knowing that He hears, He responds and abides with us and we abide with Him. May He bring us each into our settled place with Him, where we can let the world go, focus on Him and truly connect. In Jesus name.

Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
