In the Pits?
WORD PLAYS ON “IN THE PIT”
One of the ways God speaks is through word puns, which are like spiritual riddles with double meaning. One night I heard the Lord talk about discouraged prophets who were taking frequent pit stops. He said He was smoothing and filling the bumps in their roads and that He was not dealing with their shortcomings but rather helping them change into His image.
The next morning I saw one of my graphics of the Grand Canyon and remembered the maze vision where people were trying to climb their way out of the Grand Canyon. I realized from the top view, the Grand Canyon looked like a giant pit. Next we leave to do errands and my mouth dropped when Wayne grabs a coupon that said, “PIT STOP Free Car Wash.” After we left the carwash, several miles away the traffic came to a stop right in front of the PIT STOP!
Later at Wallmart I was tired and starting to whine. Wayne says to me, “Are you getting…. grumpy?” There was a long pause after the word, getting. He was trying to choose his word carefully! He glanced in our cart and saw a tiny pill container that said AM and PM. He asked, “Do you have PM?” Immediately I am thinking PMS and wondering if there was something like a Post-Menopausal symptoms. So I said, “Yes I have Post Misery.”
Wayne laughed because he was thinking that this whole journey was going to be added onto some POST. So I spoke into my digital recorder: “Well thus ends the post on Being in the Pits. It started out a comforting Word and now it has ended in Post Misery!!!
WORD TO PONDER: THAT ROAD MAP IS NOT THE PITS
My dear one, you see the bumps in the road and fall into the pits. You think I am dealing with you, but I am not. I use everything in your life for GOOD. I AM changing you with My love, I AM changing you because I love you. I AM helping you overcome the pits and bumps in your life by filling them and smoothing your road. Let Me wash you off from the pits in your road dear one. I totally adore you, now change your focus off the negative and onto Me, for My plans are for your good and not evil.
Ps 143:7-8 NKJV
Answer me speedily, O LORD; My spirit fails! Do not hide Your face from me,
Lest I be like those who go down into the pit. Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.
Isa 40:4-5 NKJV
Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
