PEACE BE UNTO YOU
5/07/24 PEACE BE UNTO YOU
Today I read the following passage. This took place after Jesus died. All the hopes the disciples had for their future died when Jesus died. After having walked with God on earth, they were as badly shaken as any human could be watching in the One they loved and believed in, die such a shame-filled death on the cross. And there they gathered even fearing they too would die by the hands of those who crucified their Beloved King:
John 20:19-22 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and said unto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when he had so said, he showed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father has sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive you the Holy Spirit:
They did not know Jesus was alive again! And then suddenly Jesus stands in their midst and says, PEACE BE UNTO YOU. Can you imagine the shock? I always thought Jesus spoke peace to them because of such shock of seeing Him again! But when I looked up the word peace in the Greek I saw something different:
PEACE: TO SET AT ONE AGAIN
Strong’s Greek Dictionary
εἰρήνη eirene (eirḗnē)
Search for G1515 in KJVSL; in KJV; load in ESI.
εἰρήνη eirḗnē, i-ray’-nay
probably from a primary verb εἴρω eírō (to join); peace (literally or figuratively); by implication, prosperity:—one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again.
feminine noun
After everything they had suffered Jesus knew exactly what they needed. His own were broken and shattered deep inside. What took place affected their faith, their dreams, their hopes, their plans for the future. They died with Jesus and didn’t know how to recover. And Jesus speaks PEACE to them. His Word wasn’t just a greeting, it wasn’t just a way of saying “fear not.” Rather He decreed the power to be at one again – to be at peace, to be quiet, at rest – to be set at one again where all is calm and OK. Jesus imparted supernatural peace to them by breathing the wind of the Holy Spirit upon them saying RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Do you need His peace today? Welcome the Holy Spirit to sweep over you and through you and give you PEACE. He will empower your separated pieces to come together and be at one with Him again.

THE PEACE OF BEING “AT ONE” WITH ME 2/12/19
Precious one, lay down all that unsettles your thoughts and emotions and come to Me. I AM your peace. Come to Me and I will give you rest. Simply spending time with Me will sooth your soul. In returning and rest you shall be saved, in quietness and confidence your strength shall return. Let yourself sink into Me and be one with Me, My thoughts, My heart and remember.
Yes there is some satisfaction in having your tasks and life organized, but that will not cleanse you from worry or issues that disturb your heart. As Solomon said, it is better to have one hand full with quietness than both hands full with toil. When I created the earth I had great satisfaction and said it was good. But then I rested. Come precious one, come!
Joh 14:27 (AMP) PeaceI leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]
WALK IN PEACE 1/2/03
Even as I glue the soles of your shoes, so I also bond your walk in Me with My peace. My peace gives you a firm foundation that not only takes the shock out of the bumps in life, but also makes you stable. So trust Me to give you the peace you need to walk without pain. Trust Me that My Word over your life is a good gift and good news.
“For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared.” (Eph 6:15-16 NLT)
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!” (Isa 52:7-8 NLT)
