RHEMA 5/02/13 A STUDY ON TYPES OF INTERCESSORS AND
THEIR AUTHORITY
ABOUT AUTHORITY
While on earth, Jesus operated in both power {1411
dunamis/ miracles} and authority {1849 exousia / force,
influence}
Luke 4:36 And they
were all amazed, and spoke among themselves, saying,
What a word is this! for with
authority
{1849} and power he commands the unclean spirits, and
they come out.
AUTHORITY
1849.
εξουσια exousia
ex-oo-see'-ah
from 1832 (in the sense
of ability); privilege, i.e. (subjectively) force,
capacity, competency, freedom, or (objectively) mastery
(concretely, magistrate, superhuman, potentate, token of
control), delegated influence:—authority,
jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength.
Authority is delegated by one who is in higher
authority. And authority can increase or decrease
depending on whether a person is in submission
and proper knowing relationship with the One Who
gave the authority.
Luke 7:8 For I also
am a man set under
authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one,
Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and
to my servant, Do this, and he does it.
Matthew 7:22-23 Many
will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out
demons? and in your name done many wonderful works? 23
And then will I profess unto them, I never
knew you:
depart from me, you that work iniquity.
Acts 19:13-16 Then
certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon
themselves to call over them who had evil spirits the
name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus
whom Paul preaches. 14 And there were seven sons of one
Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, who did so. 15
And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I
know, and
Paul I know;
but who are you? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit
was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed
against them, so that they fled out of that house naked
and wounded.
PARENTAL AUTHORITY
Every parent is a spiritual door keeper for their
children, whether they know their authority or not. It
is about the choices they make in their own life to
submit to God’s Word and that is passed down spiritually
to their children. They have been given the authority
to open spiritual doors and close spiritual doors for
their progeny. This spiritual principal is throughout
scripture, related to the good and evil choices and
inheritances that are passed down. We see generational
and family strongholds and medical strongholds passed
down through the bloodlines. We also see inherent
blessings and gifts and talents passed down.
This principal began at Adam, when he sinned, it opened
a door of death that was passed down to all men.
Likewise, when Jesus paid Adam’s price, it opened the
door of life for all men to find their Maker once again.
1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be
made alive.
Exodus 20:5-6 You
shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for
I the LORD your God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity
of the fathers upon the children unto the third and
fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And
showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and
keep my commandments.
Genesis 22:18
And in your descendants
shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because
you have obeyed my voice. (Abraham)
Proverbs 13:22 A
good man leaves an inheritance to his children's
children: but the wealth of the sinner is laid up
for the just.
Psa 25:12-13 AMP
Who is the man who
reverently fears and worships the Lord? Him shall He
teach in the way that he should choose. 13 He himself
shall dwell at ease, and his offspring shall inherit the
land.
Psalms 112:1-2 Praise
you the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD,
that delights greatly in his commandments. 2 His
descendants shall be mighty upon earth: the generation
of the upright shall be blessed.
Consider the authority of Abraham, who carried the
father anointing. In him shall ALL the nations be
blessed. [ Gal 3:8 ]
Genesis 18:17-19 And
the LORD said, Shall I hide from
Abraham that
thing which I do; 18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely
become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of
the earth shall be blessed in him? 19
For I know him,
that he will command his children and his household
after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to
do righteousness and justice; that the LORD
may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him.
LEADERSHIP AUTHORITY
This concept of opening spiritual doors is also the case
for good and evil leaders and all realms of God
appointed authority. Their choices of what they say yes
and no to are passed down to those they govern,
including their repentance.
Rom 13:1 NLKV
Let every soul be
subject to the governing authorities. For there is no
authority except from God, and the authorities that
exist are appointed by God.

EVIL LEADERS OPENED EVIL DOORS OVER ALL
1 Kings 14:16 And he
shall give Israel up because of the sins of
Jeroboam,
who did sin, and who
made Israel to sin.
1 Kings 15:25-26 And
Nadab the
son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second
year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two
years. 26 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and
walked in the way of his father, and
in his sin with which
he made Israel to sin.
2 Kings 21:16
Moreover Manasseh
shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled
Jerusalem from one end to another;
besides his sin with
which he made Judah to sin, in doing
that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.
Proverbs 29:12 If a
ruler hearkens to lies, all his servants are wicked.
2 Samuel 24:10-17 And
David's heart condemned him after he had numbered the
people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned
greatly in what I have done: and now, I beseech you, O
LORD, take away the iniquity of your servant; for I have
done very foolishly. 11 And when David was up in the
morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad,
David's seer, saying, 12 Go and say unto David, Thus
says the LORD, I offer you three things; choose you one
of them, that I may do it unto you. 13 So Gad came to
David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven
years of famine come unto you in your land? or will you
flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue
you? or shall there be three days' pestilence in your
land? now consider, and see what answer I shall return
to him that sent me. 14 And David said unto Gad, I am in
a great destress: let us fall now into the hand of the
LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall
into the hand of man. 15 So the LORD sent a pestilence
upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed:
and there died of the people from Dan even to Beer-sheba
seventy thousand men. 16 And when the angel stretched
out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD
turned from the destruction, and said to the angel that
destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now your hand.
And the angel of the LORD was by the threshing floor of
Araunah the Jebusite. 17 And
David spoke
unto the LORD when he saw the angel that struck the
people, and said,
Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these
sheep, what have they done? let your hand, I pray
you, be against me, and against my father's house.
1 Kings 12:28-30
Therefore the king
took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto
them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem:
behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of
the land of Egypt. 29 And he set the one in Beth-el, and
the other put he in Dan. 30
And this thing became a
sin: for the people went to worship before
the one, even unto Dan.
2 Chronicles 33:1-10
Manasseh
was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he
reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem: 2 But did
that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto
the abominations of the nations, which the LORD had cast
out before the children of Israel. 3
For he built again the
high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down,
and he raised up altars for Baalim, and made idol poles,
and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served them.
4 Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, of
which the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be
forever. 5 And he built altars for all the host of
heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. 6 And
he caused his children to pass through the fire in the
valley of the son of Hinnom: also he practiced
soothsaying, and used sorcery, and used witchcraft, and
dealt with mediums, and with wizards: he did much evil
in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. 7 And
he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in
the house of God, of which God had said to David and to
Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which
I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I
put my name forever: 8 Neither will I any more remove
the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have
appointed for your fathers; if only they will take heed
to do all that I have commanded them, according to the
whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the
hand of Moses. 9 So
Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of
Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the nations,
which the LORD had destroyed before the children of
Israel. 10 And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his
people: but they would not hearken.
Joshua 22:20 Did not
Achan the
son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing,
and wrath fell on
all the congregation of Israel? and that man
perished not alone in his iniquity.

RIGHTEOUS AND/OR REPENTANT LEADERS OPENED GOOD DOORS
OVER ALL
Genesis 18:27-28 And
Abraham
answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to
speak unto the Lord, who
am but dust and ashes:
28 Suppose there shall lack five of the fifty righteous:
will you destroy all the city for lack of five? And he
said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy
it.
2 Chronicles 20:18
And Jehoshaphat
bowed his head with his face to the ground: and
all Judah
and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD,
worshiping the LORD.
1 Kings 4:25 And
Judah and Israel dwelt safely,
every man
under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to
Beer-sheba, all the days of
Solomon.
Jonah 3:6-10 For word
came unto the king
of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and
he laid his robe from him, and covered himself with
sackcloth, and sat in ashes. 7 And he caused it to be
proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the
decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let
neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything:
let them not feed, nor drink water: 8 But let man and
beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto
God: yea, let them turn
everyone
from his evil way, and from the violence that is in
their hands. 9 Who can tell if God will turn and relent,
and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their
works, that they turned from their evil way;
and God relented of the disaster, that he had said that
he would bring upon them; and he did it not.
Judges 2:18 And when
the LORD raised them up
judges, then
the LORD was with the judge, and
delivered
them out of the hand of their enemies
all the days
of the judge: for the LORD had compassion because of
their groanings because of them that oppressed them and
vexed them.
Judges 8:28 Thus was
Midian subdued before the children of Israel, so that
they lifted up their heads no more. And the
country was in
quietness forty years in the days of Gideon.
INTERCESSORY AUTHORITY
The jurisdiction of intercession is connected with favor
and authority and both are only when in relationship and
friendship with the Lord. It is a very high honor to be
considered the friend of God. Those who lay down their
lives for Him and obey His Word are His friends. It is
a very intimate honor to come before the Father and be
heard. Our lives, faith and hearts can indeed melt His
heart and make a difference. It is incredibly amazing
that the Lord God chooses to make Himself - His heart
vulnerable to His friends.
John 15:13-16
Greater love has no man
than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 You are my
friends, if you do whatsoever I command you.
15 From now on I call you not servants; for the servant
knows not what his lord does: but
I have called you
friends; for all things that I have heard of
my Father I have made known unto you. 16 You have not
chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that
you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit
should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the
Father in my name, he may give it to you.
The purpose of intercession is to be a mediator and
build a wall for those whose lives are being plundered
and wasted because of sin.
INTERCESSOR
6293. פָּגַע paga` paw-gah'
a primitive root; to
impinge, by accident or violence, or (figuratively) by
importunity:—come (betwixt), cause to entreat, fall
(upon), make intercession, intercessor, intreat, lay,
light (upon), meet (together), pray, reach, run.
Impinge:
Encroach, entrench, advance, move on, take advantage,
trespass.
Importunity:
Urgency, coaxing, dunning, insistence, nagging,
persistence, pestering, plaguing, plying, pressing.
Entreat:
Beseech, bid, press, plead.
Intercession:
Intervening, engagement, involvement, participation,
mediation, petition, prayer.
Ezekiel 22:30 And I
sought for a man among them, that should build up the
wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that
I should not destroy it: but I found none.
Isaiah 59:16 And he
saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was
no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto
him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
Isaiah 63:5 And I
looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that
there was none to uphold: therefore my own arm brought
salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
Psalms 106:23
Therefore he said that
he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood
before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest
he should destroy them.
Exodus 32:10-14 Now
therefore let me alone, that my wrath may grow hot
against them, and that I may consume them: and I will
make of you a great nation. 11 And Moses besought the
LORD his God, and said, LORD, why does your wrath grow
hot against your people, whom you have brought forth out
of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty
hand? 12 Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, For
mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the
mountains, and to consume them from the face of the
earth? Turn from your fierce wrath, and change from this
evil against your people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac,
and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own
self, and said unto them, I will multiply your
descendants as the stars of heaven, and all this land
that I have spoken of will I give unto your descendants,
and they shall inherit it forever. 14 And the LORD
turned from the evil which he thought to do unto his
people.
Below is a condensed synopsis of some of the
kinds of intercessory callings being raised up in the
earth. To simply read them is just head knowledge. To
ponder with prayer gives the Lord an opportunity to
plant a seed within your understanding and apply them to
your own life when quickened. This is something He can
build on.
HINGE INTERCESSORS
Certain intercessors are like hinges in doors. Like
Esther, Abigail, Joseph, etc these hinge intercessors
have the power to pray a word, speak a word, make a
request, or deposit a word that changes history. [
Es 5:7; 1 Sam 25:33; Gen 41:46 ] Then based on that
word from the hinge person, another who is at a
crossroad and making a decision, chooses to open or
close a door that brings about great change.
These hinge people, having been perfectly prepared
through a set of events, are then supernaturally put
into a position to either open or close a door of
history. They may wait their whole lives to say just
one phrase to the right person, who then makes a
decision that changes history. Most of their
intercessory authority comes through having yielded to
God the preparation of their character.
FORERUNNER INTERCESSORS
There are some intercessors that are determined,
brave-hearted forerunners. David had this spirit. [
2 Sam 24:17; 1 Sam 30:8 ] Like pioneers, they pave
the way by breaking ground and then others can occupy
what they have broken through. Most of their
intercessory authority comes through the harvest of
overcoming, sacrifice and death to self.
LIVING SIGNS INTERCESSORS
There are some intercessors that are signs planted in
the earth. They walk their lives out as living
parables. Their lives state in one way or another
the Word of the Lord. Most of their authority in
intercession comes through submission/ obedience in
areas that goes against the religious status quo.
This is like Hosea marrying the harlot and Isaiah
walking around naked and barefoot. (Sorry that’s the
best example I can think of at the moment!) Reese
Howell was such an intercessor.
SPIRIT OF ELIJAH INTERCESSORS
Over the past 3 decades the Lord has been raising up
Elijah intercessors regarding Mal 4:6. This assignment
is building a bridge between 3+ generations,
to enable all to cross over safely into the inheritance
of possessing the promises of the Bible. Most of
their authority is through the travail of staying behind
to wait for their children, so they are not left
behind.
Malachi 4:6 And he
shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and
the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come
and smite the earth with a curse.
James 5:16-18 Confess
your faults one to another, and pray one for another,
that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of
a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man subject
to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that
it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth for
three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and
the heavens gave rain, and the earth brought forth its
fruit.
PRIEST INTERCESSORS
There are some intercessors who have been given their
authority by their spiritual identity / DNA in the
Lord. This is like Jesus, He was God’s Son. His
authority came merely on the basis that He was God’s
Son. There are some in the earth that have the calling
to be intercessory priests. These might be after the
order of Melchizedek whose authority in intercession
comes through walking in righteous paths (the
right way) and not straying. [Ge 14:18; Ps
110:4; Heb 5:6,10; Heb 6:20; Heb 7:1,10-11,15,17,21; 1
Peter 2:5]
DELIVERER INTERCESSORS
These kind of intercessors are like Moses and Elijah who
out of obedience, are sent to challenge the rulers and
powers over nations. [ Ex 7:12, 8:18; 1Kings
18:36-39 ] The gods over their nations were being
challenged, but Moses and Elijah did not do this by
directly addressing principalities. Deliverers do this
by prayer, decree and obedience to the Lord’s command.
They can only do what God tells them to do in how they
deliver His people. Most of their authority comes in
being willing to stand in the Word of God and speak what
He says to speak in the way He says to speak it.
They are filled with holy boldness and dont flinch in
the face of the demonic world. They have learned not to
be presumptuous and not act in their own agendas, else
they get clobbered. Smile.
Obadiah 1:21 And
saviors {3467} shall come up on mount Zion to judge the
mountains of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S.

Dictionary
3467. יָשַׁע yasha`
Search for H3467 in KJVSL
יָשַׁע yasha` yaw-shah'
a primitive root;
properly, to be open, wide or free, i.e. (by
implication) to be safe; causatively, to free or succor:—X
at all, avenging, defend, deliver(-er), help, preserve,
rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save(-iour),
get victory.
DOOR KEEPER INTERCESSORS
There are some intercessors who are door keepers. They
have been given the authority to open and close doors on
behalf of others. They are like kings and judges who
rule the earth with a rod of iron. Most of their
intercessory authority is walked out through their
judiciary decisions/ choices between the holy and the
profane in how they live their daily lives. Their
high level of obedience in letting go of the world gives
them great authority in their prayers to open and close
doors for others.
They are like bodyguards who stand at a door. I like to
call them Holy Ghost bouncers. What they open in their
own lives is opened for others. What they shut in their
own lives is shut for others. Another way of looking at
a door keeper’s authority is saying that the devil has
to go through those who stand on the front line, before
he can get to those who are protected.
Isa 22:22-23 NKJV
The key of the house
of David I will lay on his shoulder; So he shall
open, and no
one shall shut;
And he shall shut, and no one shall open. 23 I will
fasten him as a peg in a secure place, And he will
become a glorious throne to his father's house.
Rev 3:7-10 NKJV
"And to the angel of
the church in Philadelphia write, 'These things says He
who is holy, He who is true, "He who has the
key of
David, He who opens
and no one shuts, and
shuts and no
one opens": 8 "I know your works. See, I have set before
you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a
little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied
My name. 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of
Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie —
indeed I will make them come and worship before your
feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you
have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you
from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole
world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
Matthew 16:19 And I
will give unto you the
keys of the
kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever you shall bind on
earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall
loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
SUMMARY
In summary, intercessory authority is delegated by the
Lord to those whom He calls and chooses as intercessors.
These have been tested and prepared and given
assignments within His kingdom. Authority is learned
and authority is earned. This authority is delegated by
the Father to be His ambassadors on earth.
Matthew 25:21 His
lord said unto him, Well done, you good and faithful
servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I
will make you ruler over many things: enter into the joy
of your lord.
Luke 19:17 And he
said unto him, Well done, good servant: because you have
been faithful in a very little, have authority over ten
cities.
CONFIRMATIONS 5/02/13: Today is the National Day
of Prayer. I wrote the above teaching under the burden
of the Lord, about the Types of Intercessors and an
Increase in their Authority. However I did not know it
was the National Day of Prayer. I found out the next
day when I read Pastor James’
Word
(May 2) where he said: I heard the Lord say, “You have
not understood the fullness of the authority I have
given to you.” Then several days after that I found out
that Bob Jones also received a
Word on National Day of Prayer, the need for
intercessors to stand in the gap for their regions and
for those who are living in sin.
So I sought for a man among them who would make a
wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the
land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.
(Ezekiel 22:30)
