7/03/23 THE BUTTERFLY ANGEL – THE LAYERS OF OUR SOUL: MIND, WILL, EMOTIONS
Today I pondered the vision of the butterfly angel and the scripture of being transformed by the renewing of my mind. This has to do with the various layers of our soul being cleansed when offered up to the Lord in prayer, repentance, and making choices to align our mind, will and emotions with His Word.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
- I am transformed through removing the layers of what I think.
- What I choose with my will is what I feel and think.
- What I feel is a result of what I think.
These are all layers of the soul. He changes my perspectives and thus it changes my choices.
3/13/08 BUTTERFLIES TRANSFORMED THINKING
I saw a beautiful angel who had thick, glistening dark brown hair down to her waist. She had a very large butterfly appear on the top of her head, it looked like a delicate, beautiful and lacey hair ornament, sitting upon her like a large hat. The butterfly was a shimmering brown, yet iridescent and transparent color, and it appeared lacey and very delicate. Then I saw the butterfly gently lift off and fly away, and another butterfly appeared on top of her head.
Her hair was shedding layer upon layer of these butterflies. It did not appear that she was losing hair or that it was getting any thinner. But somehow the layers were making butterflies. It was something very beautiful that she was yielding up to the Lord and I knew it was something very precious and sacrificial. As I was watching these butterflies be offered up to the Lord, it was imparted to me that the Lord was somehow using these transformed butterflies as a secret weapon, in their gentleness and beauty and sacrifice.
I heard the Lord say, Sacrifices. What you gave to Me. The message is on your head.
UPDATE: I talked with Wayne about the butterfly angel and he said that to be transformed is to have the mind to Christ.

Reaching beyond the demands of flesh for
Eternal purpose within mortality.
Always facing the battle of
Sin’s lure by
Overcoming through the power of His Spirit.
Not yielding to the carnal nature
And impure motives.
But with reason, and purpose, choice and
Logical will,
Eagerly laying down whatever opposes the call of His Spirit.
Sharing what costs the most.
Anticipating reward for what died.
Costly payment.
Real heroes pouring out mortality.
Instant giving without hesitation.
Finding the sheer grit of purpose in suffering.
Issuing from a deeper will of giving.
Caring deeply with eternal perspective.
Extravagance beyond self.

Neville: An Encounter with Enoch. I want to read some things I wrote down when I had an encounter with this man Enoch.
TRANSFORMATION – YOUR SOUL THROUGH A FILTER
That’s why I said, “You will be transformed, transfigured as you RENEW your Mind.” Ro 12. Metemorphisis.
Enoch called me by name and said, “Neville, you have to push your emotions through a filter, your mind through a filter, your thoughts through this filter.” “What filter?” “You already know it.
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – think on these things.
- Filter your mind through that scripture
- Filter your emotions through that scripture
I knew this but the way He said it to me…He said it like this was paramount. This is the filter for what you feel and think. Everything must go through this filter. If it doesn’t go through this filter it must be disregarded. More than that, we must put our emotions through that filter. God wants us to feel His emotion and have it manifest through our emotion. This will take you to the next level.
There is no greater joy than walking with the God in the reality of the Spirit. Everything else pales to insignificance. I come out of some of these experiences so ecstatic that I don’t know what to do with myself. That’s the real life. In Him is the fullness of joy. The Kingdom of God is peace and joy.
CONSECRATION TO THE LORD
- Consecrate your eyes

- Confess failures instantly and get back on track
You cannot cut off your head and do this in a meeting. I tried, it doesn’t work. Must get alone with God and be very specific. You must make sure He understands the terms you are coming on and you must understand His terms. Then you make this commitment to the Lord. Then every time you fail, you are watching something or doing something and it polluting, you must confess it and instantly deal with it. Every new level we go through requires another new level of consecration to the Lord.Ro 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice…And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Don’t let your mind follow the ways of the world. Don’t let junk come in or let junk go out. Finally, you can undo everything by what comes out of our mouths. God has been so strict on what I say. So strict. My wife and I now correct each other. It is good to partner with your spouse and encourage each other in this. We build one moment and tear down the next. It’s not only Christians, but non-Christians who have this power. Jesus said, it’s what you say. What we say is what we have. The words have force and power to create. We tear it down one minute and build up the next. Then two days later we tear it down again. James said, “This ought not to be. Out of the same mouth that salt water and fresh water.” This is the input and the output. We must be very serious about this and decide, “This is where I am going.” We must make that consecration to the Lord.
We need to consecrate our mouths. Offer each part separately-your eyes, your mind, your mouth, your ears. There will be times when God will say, “You cannot listen to that anymore.” God told me, “Churches will dedicate their pianos, their organs but never dedicate themselves.” We dedicate our children, our money—it is time we dedicated ourselves.
Personal victory is won and lost in the mind. Temptation and thoughts cannot be separated. We need to understand this. If we offer our eyes, our minds, our mouths, our ears to the Lord and we keep them constantly there before the Lord, He will touch them with His fire. It may not be a dramatic experience but He will break the strongholds of your mind.
See Abraham, every time he went to a new place, he built a new altar. His history is strewn with altars. Every time we go to a new level, it requires a new level of dedication. We must just do it. We too must continue to bring ourselves to Him.
