TO BE SWADDLED BY THE LORD
9/03/24 TO BE SWADDLED BY THE LORD
This week has been an unsettling week with receiving 4 pieces of sad news and needing to make 3 very difficult decisions. As a result I gushed all over poor Wayne about all the things burdening my soul and I had peace after that until I went to pray over one of the issues. It was about a stage 4 cancer diagnosis of a beloved pastor friend from my youth.
As I was praying for the pastor, I saw a mental image (this was not a vision, but memory recall of one of my husband’s old visions about himself.) where I was held up in the air with my arms and legs flailing/ wanting to grasp and hold onto something that could help me be grounded. My soul was disheveled and I needed to feel settled, at peace, supported, still, content, satisfied, like a fed baby that is finally content. I felt nothing grounding me, only that I was being held by the Lord.
PRAYER: Lord I just need to accept You have got me and I choose to let go of my flailing soul and rest in Your arms of love. Lord pull me in please and don’t leave me hanging. Forgive me Lord. I need Your help. I cant do this without Your help. Bring me closer Lord, bring me into Your bosom.
HEARD: I will hold you dear daughter. It’s OK. You are not alone. I’ve got you. Swaddled.
INTO MEMORY: To hear the word swaddled was a surprise. I recalled how a baby is startled awake and can suffer trauma when its arms and legs flail out. And how peaceful they become when they are swaddled with their arms and legs tucked in. I thought of how they feel the walls of the womb touch them as they grow to fill that space. It holds them secure from flailing limbs. That is also Baby Kitty. When I hold her in my lap, I tuck my arm around her back and rear and she is supported and her level of stillness is quite evident in comparison to any other ways I reach out to touch her. The little rim around her new kitty bed is helpful as well. It is like a touchable boundary that she can feel.
HEARD: They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. I saw a man plop into a double bed, next to his wife. He was flailing his legs up and down. I realized what I was feeling in the recalled vision about being held up and flailing limbs was what he was experiencing. I prayed for the pastor with cancer that the Lord would comfort and swaddle him and bring him close to His heart. I heard, There now child. Rest. I will assure you. You’ve got nothing to fear. You are safe in Me. I will hold you. There, there now. Come to Papa.
WOW CONFIRMATION: The clock time that I heard about swaddling was 10:25 AM. When I was done with my devotions, I looked it up:

PRAYER: Lord we pray as You birth Your promises within us, that You will hold us close to Your bosom. We know in our minds and we believe in our hearts that YOU ARE GOD AND YOU ARE SOVEREIGN. We trust You Lord that You really are in control and will bring forth the birth of Your promises. However we need help in our souls.
As the days of our birthing come closer – when we suddenly feel insecure – when what we cling to is removed, we are crying out to YOU. The comfort, the stability, the security, the settled place that we crave and need can ONLY be found in drawing close to Your heart, dear Father! Please do not leave us stranded, but draw us close and grant us grace to enter in and connect with Your loving touch, Your loving Word and comfort. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Psalm 139:1-17 O LORD, you have searched me, and known me. 2 You know my downsitting and my uprising, you understand my thought afar off. 3 You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, you know it altogether. 5 You have hedged me behind and before, and laid your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. 7 Where shall I go from your Spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall your hand lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. 12 Yea, the darkness hides not from you; but the night shines as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to you. 13 For you have formed my inward parts: you have covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are your works; and that my soul knows right well. 15 My frame was not hid from you, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes did see my substance, being yet unformed; and in your book they were all written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. 17 How precious also are your thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
