EFFORT FOR DAILY BREAD
2/16/24: ANSWER TO PRAYER
Last season, I was getting up at 2,3 or 4 AM to spend time with the Lord, then going back to bed to finish my night’s sleep. Sometimes it was like pulling teeth to break through to hear Him, and then other times it was like melted butter. I have had many ways of seeking Him throughout the years. This season I have been spending long hours in bed waiting on Him as I did many years ago, even though I dont sleep through some of it. But this morning I got up.
This morning I had been thinking how hard it is recently to connect with the Lord in my morning devotions and praying about that. I rarely eat or drink when I get up in the middle of the night to be with Him, but I am up at 2 AM with a piece of bread and to spend time With him. Then through anointed hands I turned to this word to ponder!
LABOR AND BUY WHAT ENDURES 6/03/09
Yes beloved one, sometimes it feels like you are fighting against spiritual famine and you have to work harder for bread. Yes I did say to pray for daily bread and sometimes prayer is laborious. My promise is daily Bread, so do not let your daily portion be stolen. Even if you were to expend all your efforts into obtaining your Bread from heaven, wouldn’t that be worth such value? My Bread endures throughout all eternity.
You will find that the more you abide IN Me, the more you will sense and realize you are totally encompassed by My Bread. Sometimes the “dot” of your perspective is so small that you do not see the whole. Ask that I widen your perceptions and enlarge your heart so that you will receive the fullness of what is available. Press in, for My true fullness is coming and it is beyond what you could ever imagine or think. Blessed are you who hunger, for you shall be filled.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be filled .

TO CONNECT WITH THE LORD: When I mention connecting with the Lord, it is something special that I am speaking about. We can go through all the motions, even hear/ see but for me my faith has to be activated in order for me to feel satisfied that we really have connected. It is very difficult to describe and I have mentioned this many times before. But it is like 2 fingers touching one another and suddenly there is a spark of life flowing in between them. That is what I mean by connect – like electricity flowing.
It is when His Word really touches my heart, my life where I am at right now. He speaks, I receive and suddenly I KNOW He has spoken and that impacts me. It is the same experience the disciples had here:
Luke 24:29-32 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. 30 And it came to pass, as he sat to eat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32 And they said one to another, Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
First they desired to tarry with Jesus. But I love that their eyes werent open until Jesus:
1) Took the bread
2) Prayed over the bread
3) Broke the bread
4) Shared the bread
This is what the Lord asks us to do with those in our lives… Share our portion with others so He can dwell in our midst and He will open our eyes!
What leaps out at me in this passage is that Jesus BROKE the bread. Every day when I seek the Lord even though I may have a lot of different ways to receive from Him it is not until I actually break the message down that I receive the satisfaction that Jesus and I have CONNECTED on an intimate level and what He said really impacted me at that time.
Thank You Lord for Your invitation to press in and break bread with You. Thank You for Your promises for bread every day, and that when we seek You, we will FIND YOU. Thank You Lord that when we are hungry to connect with You, we will be satisfied with breaking bread with You.
