HAVING PASSED THE TEST
10/21/26 HAVING PASSED THE TEST
JESUS BREAKS THE FAST
I saw Jesus sitting at a picnic table for breakfast where He had been camping. He had an aluminum foil tray with 9 cinnamon rolls, a knife and fork. He was about to take His first bite after fasting.
Sometimes actions speak louder than words. Often when I see a vision without words, it is a sign – role modeling important details to be pondered. When those details are held up to His light with prayer, the Holy Spirit brings revelation and understanding of where we were, where we are and/or where we are going. Each company in their own season.
I noticed His hair was longer than the last several times I had seen Him when He was a boy and maturing. Later as I pondered Jesus’ hair, I realized it had looked disheveled as though He had been out in the wilderness for a while. As I realized that, I heard the Spirit whisper, “Rugged” and I realized it was not an easy camping trip, but rather a test with difficult travel.
Both the Israelites and Jesus were tested in the wilderness. The Israelites were tested and fed manna – food that they did not know that became wearisome to them. The Spirit also sent Jesus into the wilderness to be tested of the devil. In both cases it was made known that man does not live by bread alone, but only by the Words that proceed out of the mouth of God.
Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled you, and allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.
Deuteronomy 8:16-18 Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers knew not, that he might humble you, and that he might test you, to do you good in the end; 17 And you say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand has gotten me this wealth. 18 But you shall remember the LORD your God: for it is he that gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto your fathers, as it is this day.
(What Jesus spoke to the devil in the wilderness) Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
When Jesus was tested of the devil, He did not eat until the test was over and the way He overcame the devil’s tests was only by the Word of God.
It is interesting that Jesus was given a tray of 9 cinnamon rolls at a picnic table. Jesus was about to partake of His first meal after being tested in the wilderness. Oh how sweet that bread must be to one who has suffered a trial in the wilderness!
- A table spread before Him in the midst of His enemies.
- A spread “to break the fast”
- At the break of a new day.
- Cinnamon is an important ingredient in the holy anointing oil and was also present in the bride’s garden.
- Word Heb word WAIT means to bind together by twisting. That is how you make cinnamon rolls!
Exodus 30:23-25 Take also unto you the finest spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet-smelling cinnamon half as much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet-smelling cane two hundred and fifty shekels, 24 And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive oil a hin: 25 And you shall make it an oil of holy annointing, an ointment compounded after the art of the perfumer: it shall be a holy anointing oil.
Song of Solomon 4:12-14 A garden enclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed. 13 Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; henna, with spikenard, 14 Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices:
Why would Jesus show a tray of 9 cinnamon rolls? The #9 represents the fullness of fruit of the Spirit and the fullness of gifts of the Spirit. #9 means full maturity. The idea of maturity brought me back to the “sign” of seeing Jesus’ hair. I saw Jesus 4 times when He was a boy, crossing over into manhood. Back then Lord was showing me by Jesus’s example and length of hair that He was maturing past boyhood and taking a group of His own into full maturity, which was a climb. And now at the picnic table, Jesus appeared older and much more mature than the Bar Mitzvah boy.
WORD TO PONDER: HAVING PASSED THE TEST 10/21/26
Dear one, I planted My seed within you at the moment You accepted Me into Your life as Lord and Savior. I have been maturing and perfecting you since that day! Now is the season where I have been bringing companies of people into complete maturity of full growth, character and fulness of My own image. Just like going to school, I took them into the wilderness to learn lessons and pass tests. Each in their own time and season, I AM completing the good work that I began within them.
Having been challenged in your identity in Me, you were tested in body, soul and spirit to prove your absolute allegiance to My Father’s Word and Sovereignty. In your relentless wait upon Him, You learned your ability to overcome and inherit His Words were not by your own might or power. But only through His Spirit could you obtain that which His Word promised you. Having laid down your own self will to embrace My Father’s Word through Me – I became your very bread life of life. Thank You dear one for waiting.
I celebrate with you as you break the fast and rugged years being trained in the wilderness! Enjoy My sweet bread mixed with the consecration of My holy anointing. Partake with hope and anticipation as I pour back into you that which you spent waiting upon Me through your schooling years in the wilderness. Who is this that comes out of the wilderness perfumed with such spice? The one whose valley of trouble became a door of hope. The one whose love has been awakened, whose love is as strong as death, who has learned to lean upon her Beloved. I waited for you and you waited for Me. In the fullness of time and growth, we have been prepared to walk together in oneness – into My Father’s promises.
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
Song of Solomon 3:6 Who is this that comes out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all the fragrant powders of the merchant?
Hos 2:16 NLT When that day comes,” says the LORD, “you will call me ‘my husband’ instead of ‘my master.’
