Today I was reading the passage in John 6 where after Jesus had multiplied the boys bread to feed the 5 thousand, some sought him for bread the next day. But Jesus talked about Himself  being the Father’s bread that like the manna of old, came from heaven. Only now it was His flesh and blood that was the Father’s bread sent for them to eat.

The Jews and disciples were complaining of those hard words Jesus was saying. Many were offended and walked away from following Him. The disciples too were complaining that what Jesus was saying was a severe saying. Jesus asked the disciples if they too wanted to go away?

Sometimes God speaks strong meat and it does offend our minds because we filter it through our carnal way of thinking. Today as I personally applied this to a strong meat vision I had, I felt the Lord’s message to me was, Don’t get hung up on the literal fleshly interpretation, but instead understand His Words as His spiritual Words, because they give life.

John 6:60-61 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is a hard saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Does this offend you?

John 6:63 It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 4:34 Jesus said unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work.
