Minister Through God’s Attributes

INTRODUCTION

One way God speaks is through His attributes and also His Names.  When we recognize these qualities about Him, we are able to find comfort through understanding Who He is, and also minister to others, reminding them of Who He is.  Knowing His attributes is also a fantastic way of entering into His Presence, through thanking Him for each of His attributes.

HOW TO MINISTER

Consider the person’s needs and match the name(s) of God and also His attributes that are quickened to you.  The key idea of this activation is to focus on God and Who He is when matching it against the person’s need.  You can pray, share a scripture, or any other way God speaks in addressing this need, as long as it DIRECTLY relates to His Name or Attribute.  This is a way of exalting God over the need, of giving honor to Him, or praising Him, of putting the focus on Him.

EXAMPLE:

Someone is in need of fellowship, they are lonely.

Father, I thank You that You are a Father to {person’s name} and You bring the solitary into families.  I know You have good gifts to give her because You are good.  I ask that You will bring the fellowship that {person’s name} needs to comfort her soul from loneliness.  I am excited to see how You will answer this prayer, because You have promised to hear us when we pray our desires, when we believe we will receive our answers.  Thank You Papa for comforting {person’s name} because You are the God of all comfort!

Psalms 68:5-6 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. 6 God sets the solitary in families: he brings out those who are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

Luke 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, whatever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you shall have them.

2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
