LITTLE NUGGETS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL

4/09/22 LITTLE NUGGETS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL

I had been asking the Lord to help me come up with some yummy and different salads. Today I had leftover chicken, so I put chicken, dried cranberries, pistachios, cucumber, and tomatoes on my salad. I mixed them with greens and raspberry vinaigrette.

As I was finishing I thought, I always enjoy the bottom of a salad the most! It was quickened to me that the tastiest tidbits are usually at the bottom of the bowl because they are heavy.

That’s what it is like when we take the Word of the Lord and dig deeper. He has the tasty little morsels just waiting for us to find. That happens when we pray over something He has said or quickened to us and we search it out. He might bring something to remembrance, speak through a person, or maybe the line of a song. He has wonderful and amazing ways of making our daily journeys more enjoyable if we just take the time to dig for those little nuggets at the bottom of the day’s activity pile.

Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

WORDS TO PONDER:

TIDBIT JERKY OUTSIDE THE BOX 3/5/03

Sometimes, I speak in unusual ways. These are outside of your boxes and boundaries of how you think I should speak. I always did prefer abiding in a tent over a building! Buildings are like boxes and so inflexible. Tents sway to and fro as My wind blows where it will.

As I fill your tent with My Presence, I will send My angels to serve you popcorn, peanuts and jerky. I have drawn you to be hungry for salt, and ready to receive tidbits to chew. Yes, small morsels one at a time, but bursting with flavor as your appetite increases for Me. You shall chew and meditate upon My morsels from heaven and these shall be like little lessons along the way. In the process I will stretch your boundaries of Who you think I AM.

“Go and tell my servant David, `This is what the LORD says You are not the one to build me a temple to live in. I have never lived in a temple, from the day I brought the Israelites out of Egypt until now. My home has always been a tent, moving from one place to another. And I never once complained to Israel’s leaders, the shepherds of my people. I have never asked them, “Why haven’t you built me a beautiful cedar temple?” (1Ch 17:4-6 NLT)

LITTLE WORDS, LITTLE PIECES 5/7/03

Dear One, I have given you many morsels from My vault in heaven. These little gems may appear small and insignificant, but when quickened by My Spirit, they explode with life and living color. My daily Words are rarely boulders, for the magnificence of Who I AM is much too large for anyone to hold. I rejoice in the smallest, tiniest details. It gives Me great joy and laughter when I experience your joys as you receive these little pieces. Every time you swallow these morsels, you are swallowing a portion of Me and it gives Me great satisfaction to be so loved and appreciated. Taste and see that I AM good.

“How sweet are your words to my taste; they are sweeter than honey.” (Ps 119:103 NLT)

LISTEN AND APPLY 9/22/03

I want to talk to you through everything in life, if you would only listen. My Words to you are like shining symbols hanging on the wall, once your heart is opened to hear Me in new parabolic ways.

Do you want to grow up in Me? Then eat a more balanced diet. I know all you want is visions and hearing My still small voice, but I want to send you a good variety of tasty Words. You may not like the unusual ways I speak, but I promise you that once you taste My voice in all of life, it is like a carrot dangling on a string. I place My morsels in front of you, and bounce them around just enough to get your attention, and wait for you to take a bite. Now that wasn’t so bad, was it? Try another, and another and another. Soon you will delight in eating your spiritual vegetables and will grow healthy, lean and strong. Listen and apply your life around you as My Word. Hear the spiritual parables behind your circumstances. They are everywhere, all around you, every day.

“And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it. But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.” (Mr 4:33-34 NKJV)
