A BRIEF MOMENT OF HUMOR:  ABOUT ABIDING

12/17/25  A BRIEF MOMENT OF HUMOR:  ABOUT ABIDING

I always pray and then pray in tongues when I am on my way to have fellowship with a family member.  I pray over our time together of planting good seeds.  I was not hungry for lunch and when I got into the car I realized my blood sugar was dropping so I went back in to grab a protein bar.  Now I am driving and chewing at the same time.  Suddenly I realize I cant pray because my mouth is stuffed.   So in my mind I said, “Hi Papa.  I am praying in tongues inside!”

Immediately I had the impression of Him tilting His head back and laughing with joy!   I heard His response in His still small voice:  Dear one it’s not about getting prayed up, it’s about abiding!!

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;

John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.

[Lord I don’t know if I am abiding.]

Did I speak to you last night?  [Yes Lord.] And did that matter to you?  [Yes thank You!] Just checking. You give me joy, dear one.

As I was pondering what He said, the Holy Spirit imparted this verse to my mind:   John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.

REVELATION:  This was a revelation that the “experience” of abiding flows two ways.  We abide in Him by clinging to Him, like a vine does to the main branch.  And in turn that branch feeds the vine.  As His Words abide in us and we feed upon them, then we are abiding in Him.

Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward your holy temple, and praise your name for your lovingkindness and for your truth: for you have magnified your word above all your name.
