Prophesying

Exercise: Prophesying Parables

THANKSGIVING PROPHESY
LEARNING TO PROPHESY A PARABLE

Learning to prophesy a parable is an important foundation because when we see visions and pictures and dreams, the Lord uses them as parables to demonstrate something He is saying. Often they require interpretation and apply to many arenas of life. Once you get acquainted with prophesying parables, the Lord will quicken your eye glances and quicken things that happen around you, and you will be able to share these as Words.

I remember one time I was on a ministry team and a lady came forward with several of her friends. She was carrying a huge purse on her shoulder. All I could “see” was that huge burden. So I took her purse off her shoulder and handed it to one of her friends beside her. I then turned it into a first person prophesy from the Lord to her that she was carrying too many burdens and how the Lord wanted her to share what she was carrying with others who were put into her life by Him. This was an exact Word for her and all of her friends just nodded their heads as she wept and smiled. Then we prayed together as a group, that the Lord would release her from carrying such heavy weights.

EXAMPLE: Agabus prophesied using a parable:

Acts 21:9-11   NKJV

And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit,’ So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.'”

CLASS EXERCISE

This is a 2 part Exercise about learning how to prophesy a parable.

One of the Class Lessons on prophesying, was an exercise about learning to prophesy a Parable. CLICK HERE IF YOU WANT MORE UNDERSTANDING ABOUT PARABLES.

SUMMARY ABOUT PARABLES

A parable can be anything in life that is quickened:  an event, an object, a circumstance, a season, etc and it represents something spiritual.  It is something in our natural world that teaches us or shows us something in the spiritual world.

1 Cor 15:46 NKJV
However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural , and afterward the spiritual.

A parable is a like a hidden symbol that in our life means something literal but it can mean something different to us in our spiritual languages.  They are hidden stories.

Jesus told many parables.  The sower and the seed, the fig tree, the persistent widow, the mustard seed, etc:

Ps 78:2,  Ezek 17:2,  Ezek 24:3,  Matt 13:18,  Matt 13:24,  Matt 13:31,  Matt 13:33,  Matt 13:34,  Matt 13:36,  Matt 15:15,  Matt 21:33,  Matt 24:32,  Mark 4:10,  Mark 4:13,  Mark 4:30,  Mark 4:34,  Mark 7:17,  Mark 12:12,  Mark 13:28,  Luke 5:36,  Luke 6:39,  Luke 8:4,  Luke 8:9,  Luke 8:11,  Luke 12:16,  Luke 12:41,  Luke 13:6,  Luke 14:7,  Luke 15:3,  Luke 18:1,  Luke 18:9,  Luke 19:11,  Luke 20:9,  Luke 20:19,  Luke 21:29,

The key to parables is to tie them into scripture by drawing spiritual comparisons or spiritual lessons of some kind.

The best way to come up with anything, including parables is to “sense” what is quickened that has a spiritual interpretation to it.

Parables can be very simple and very obvious on the surface.  Or they can be buried and we suddenly realize its significance, especially to how it applies to our lives.  Parables can also be extremely complicated where every little detail has real meaning and the deeper you dig, the more you see.

Parables are a wonderful love language to us from the Lord.  They are especially exciting when we see them in our daily lives and suddenly realize how they apply.  They are like the Lord giving us treasure hunts.

PART ONE:

Think of a parable that has something to do with the theme of Thanksgiving. Parables can be something as simple as looking for a can of pumpkin at the grocery store, to melting the butter for the stuffing, to something funny that happens when the family gathers at the table. A parable is simply taking a common thing or occurrence in life and applying a spiritual lesson or thought to it.

Simply name the object or occurrence that is quickened to you, and then 1 or 2 sentences that relate it to a spiritual idea.

EXAMPLE: The color of Pumpkin pies are a combination of orange and brown. Orange represents the prophetic. Brown represents humble service.

EXAMPLE: When I bought my turkey, the lines at the grocery store were SO long.  When the harvest comes, there wont be places to sit in church or places to park in the church lots.

=========

PART TWO

After you get enough parables from people’s ideas, take one that is quickened to you from the examples, or come up with another one, and write a prophesy (comfort, edification, exhortation) in just one simple paragraph that relates the parable about Thanksgiving. It’s OK to mention the actual parable if you want, but you dont have too. Some of my Words to Ponders were written from parables that were quickened to me, and I never mentioned the parables at all.

EXAMPLE OF MENTIONING THE PARABLE: Just like the bird that lands on the tree….

EXAMPLE OF NOT MENTIONING THE PARABLE: I know that you have traveled a long distance without rest….

Part of prophesying is speaking generically enough so that it applies to many people and circumstances. On the other hand, part of prophesying is also using specific descriptions that are not too flowery which have no practical relevance or impact. You need to consider this, especially when prophesying a parable, because parables are already generic and descriptive, without adding a lot to them.

END YOUR PROPHESY WITH A SCRIPTURE

Always try to end your prophesy with a scripture that relates to the Word you are sharing.  Prophesying scripture is the most powerful way to prophesy direct comfort, building and admonishing.

FUN CONFIRMATION TO THIS ASSIGNMENT:  Right after I clicked to send the Class Assignment, I left for the Post Office.  On the way I prayed, “Lord please help me think of a good Thanksgiving parable.”    A few miles later my eye glanced at a billboard!

It was a picture of a very plump cooked turkey and it said, “Taste the Goodness.”  It had the Fred Meyer logo on it.  I smiled that the Lord gave me a parable and I thought of this scripture:

Ps 34:8  NKJV

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good ; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Things to remember when prophesying a parable:

  1. The prophesy wont be the actual the story of the parable.  Rather the parable will be the inspirational thought from which you catapult the prophesy.

In other words, the prophesy wont be about decorating cookies or drinking cider.  But it might be about being adorned in Jesus and smelling His cheeks which are like spices.

  2. The spiritual interpretation of the parable is the subject matter for your Word.

  3. Therefore if you mention the parable keep the parable very short, concise and to the point.  The parable does not have to be mentioned.

Example of mentioning a parable:  When you drink your cider by the fire, think of Me…. I will warm you… etc

Example of not mentioning a parable:  I love to warm your heart as you come close to Me.

  4. Keep the Word really simple, just stick with the inspiration or theme that you got from the parable and only add enough sentences to support it.  The shorter and more simple a Word is, more people remember it and apply it.

  5. Always include scripture in your Word.  You can add it to the end.  Or you can include it within the prophesying.

  6. Personalize the idea of the parable as a love letter to a person so that it spoken in first person from the Lord to that person.

FIRST THE NATURAL, THEN THE SPIRITUAL

PARABLES AND PROPHESIES

PARABLE:  GRACE TO BUST THE DOOR OPEN
I received this advertisement via email just now.  It said “Before Thanksgiving 5 days only.  Sale $5 Doorbusters.”

5 = grace

Two 5’s = double portion grace

Doorbusters = breaking down the hindrances

1 Cor 16:9 NKJV
For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

Rev 3:8-9
“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door , and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.

PARABLE:  THE SEASON OF FALL
Thanksgiving brought a pumpkin to mind, which to me represents fall, which is the harvest season:

PROPHESIES INSPIRED BY THE FALL SEASON

AWAKENING IN THE HARVEST

Can you not see that the harvest is upon you? I am going to bring an awaking upon the earth like never before. Many hearts are being prepared to receive My Son. Soon their eyes will be opened. I am shaking the earth and many are being awakened through the shaking. My laborers are being prepared in the secret, soon they will be thrust out, I am in need of them. Once again I am showing mercy to mankind. Once again many will face the choice to choose My Son. Partner with me in prayer for the release of My harvesters. I am in need of them. It is harvest time indeed!

Matt 9:37 – 38. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.

=======

SEE THE FIELDS

My precious children I am sanctifying your seer anointing so you can see the fields that are white unto harvest so you can ask for the Lord of the Harvest to bring in the workers to do His will. You will see what I see because I do what I see the father doing and I will impart that to you so you will be a worker in my fields. My heart is to see these little ones brought into the my kingdom so I will give you eyes to see…

John 4:35-36 NKJV

Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields , for they are already white for harvest!

COMMENTS FROM CLASS ABOUT PHOTO:

That is a phenomenal photo, and it is a parable of what it will be like when the harvest meets in the fields because the buildings wont hold them.  WOW.

John 4:35-36  NKJV
Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields , for they are already white for harvest!

=======

Bob Jones said that the angel breakthrough is the one who removed the hindrances for revivalists in the past and is also the one who opened the way in Nigeria. For many years Reinhardt Bonnke couldn’t get a visa to go into Nigeria to hold a crusade. Then a neighbouring president called him and said he should come and preach the Gospel to him. When the president got saved Reinhardt Bonnke asked him if he could ask the president of Nigeria if he could be granted a visa. Then this president who got saved called the Nigerian president and he was granted a visa. The president actually flew Reinhardt into Nigeria with his own airplane. That was 10 years ago. A huge harvest resulted. Kenneth Copeland actually gave Reinhardt Bonnke a word that he is going to see more than a million people saved in one crusade. A few months later it started to happen.

=======

This is truly and awesome photo.  It reminds me that in the midst of

darkness, God’s great light will shine and there will be a harvest!!

Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine; for thy light has come, and the glory of

the Lord is risen upon you.”

Matthew 5:14-16 “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on

an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light candle, and put it under a

bushel, but on a candlestick;and it giveth light unto all that are in

the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your

good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven.”

PARABLE:  GOOD SAMARITAN
When I think of the Thanksgiving holiday,  I think of traditions. But also how traditions have changed over time. Used to be true “Family time” with no one left out. Now families are scattered and there are lots of single, lonely people.

Our local Assembly of God has their church building on a Square in the middle of town.  Very rural. For several years they invite the public, free of charge, to a full Thanksgiving dinner on the Wednesday evening  before thanksgiving Day.  They always send you home with  a momento and leftovers if wanted.  Lots of wonderful desserts, Cider, and other drinks.

Somehow  I thought of the Good Samaritan… How he cared for a stranger – perhaps lonely, and poor.

Luke 10:33-34 NKJV

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

=======

PARABLE:  HORN OF PLENTY

When I think of Thanksgiving I think about harvest and the horn of plenty, and how God’s people can eat the fat of the land through obedience.

In Psalm 92:10, it reads But “my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn, I shall be anointed with fresh oil.(what a blessing)

We are always asking God to send fresh oil and here he is promising to anoint us, and with fresh oil, this all about praising God for his goodness, thanksgoodness.

=======

PARABLE:  OVERCOMING STRONGHOLDS IN TRADITIONS

When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of traditions…family traditions, cultural traditions and religious traditions. Thinking about the Thanksgiving traditions such as having a certain kind of food like the cranberries, the turkey, the stuffing, Jim’s favorite salad and the list goes on.

And then I am re-reading Peter Wagner’s book on breaking strongholds and he said that one way a stronghold is established and reinforced is by tradition.

We should not be doing things only because of tradition or because that is the way we always do it.  We need to stop and think about what we are doing and why.  The Lord does not want meaningless rituals or traditions or doing something like a sacrifice or burnt offering that we think might be the thing to do.

Ps.51: 16 &17:  For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it: You do not delight in burnt offering.  17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart – these O God, You will not despise.

=======

PARABLE:  THE AUTUMN LEAVES

I am overwhelmed with Your love like a small child buried in a large pile of leaves… Such wonder, warmth & beauty.

When piles of leaves are burned like so many problems, both giving off smoke & making it hard to see, it brings tears to my eyes, but then You wipe them & I can see again.

As the Son shines through the dying leaves clothed in their Sabbath best, truly You spoke of our latter glory being better than our former.

Hag 2:8-9 NKJV

‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the LORD of hosts.”

=======

PARABLE:  CIDER BY THE FIRE

A warm cup of cider on a cold, damp day, my taste buds explode into a crackling fire of warmth, like reading the Word in the dark, only to have a light bulb turned on.  This crackling fire consumes the chilled air, the darkness & my gaze: You consume my very being.

John 8:12 NKJV

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

=======

PARABLE:  DECORATING BAKED FOODS

Watching the nieces & nephews decorate the gingerbread boys, I’m reminded of how You have covered me with the love of a family.

Baking for the holidays… Peanut butter wearing a garment of chocolate… Teach me to wear Your Robe of Righteousness. I desire to be a sweet morsel for You to consume.

Isa 61:10

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness , As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

=======

PARABLE:  THE TABLE OF BREAD & WINE

The table set with all the best family recipes, my taste buds salivate. But there is another table more glorious, where we celebrate our oneness.

Your Bread anointed & sweet is Life to me. Your wine on my lips colors my whole being with joy.

Bread beaten to death, put in a tomb, only to rise in life for me to consume, so I may live with You forever.

John 6:51 NKJV

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

Rev 19:9 NKJV

Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!'” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”

1 Cor 11:26 NKJV

The Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said,  “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”  25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood . This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”  26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

THE TABLE OF BREAD AND WINE – JESUS DEATH AND

RESURRECTION

Oh my children, come into my banqueting table where we share the bread and wine.  Join with us as we celebrate the bread of my body that was broken and the wine of my blood.  Be willing to be broken so that my bread may be shared with others.  Let us join hearts and hands around the table so that our gifts can pour out.

Song of Solomon 2:4..He brought me into his banqueting table and his banner over me is love.

Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly  in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and prayers.

PARABLE:  TURKEY IN THE BAG

I always cook my turkey in a bag.  I put the turkey in the bag and then in the oven it goes.  In the bag gives much, much more gravy and the meat is tender and moist and falls off the bone.  Cooking in the bag takes a few hours off cooking so I dont have to get up in the dark to put the turkey in the oven!

Cooking in a bag reminds me of the scripture in Psa 139 where He has beset us.  The Hebrew word for beset means to be enclosed a bag.

Ps 139:5  KJV

Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Ps 139:5 AMP

You have beset me and shut me in — behind and before, and You have laid Your hand upon me.

PROPHESY INSPIRED BY THE TURKEY IN THE BAG

IN THE FIRE FOR A PURPOSE

Just like turkey in the oven, I completely enclosed you within My Presence.  I warm you, comfort you, even cook you until you are tender.  You are very safe and protected.  Nothing touches you without My permission and whatever fires that you find yourself in, always remember that I AM the One Who sets the dial.

Isa 54:16-17 NKJV

“Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the spoiler to destroy.

17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment  You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.

Ps 139:5 AMP

You have beset me and shut me in — behind and before, and You have laid Your hand upon me.

=======

PARABLE:  STUFFING

I use my family recipe for cornbread stuffing and it is a more sweet kind of stuffing.  People really enjoy it because it is unusual.

It has sweet cornbread, seasoned croutons, butter, eggs, onions, celery and some salt.  I prepare the dry ingredients and put them together and the wet ingredients and put them in a different bowl, both in the fridge.  I do this the day before and then put on rubber gloves early the next morning and stuff and pack and press it inside until there is simply no more room at all.

The Lord once told me that I had stuffed and stuffed years and years of emotions inside and I could not hold another one.  I needed to talk and share what I was holding on to with someone, until I could find some relief.  Whenever I think of stuffing that turkey until it will hold no more, I think of that time in my life.

Scripture tells us to bear one another’s burdens and I learned about that during that season.

Gal 6:2 NKJV

Bear one another’s burdens , and so fulfill the law of Christ.

PROPHESY INSPIRED BY TURKEY STUFFING

HOT STUFFING

Beloved one, when you stuff your emotions, it like being in an environment that cooks hotter and hotter.  This can eventually cause hidden anger, unforgiveness and finally bitterness.  Find a friend to share your burdens with.  Come together in agreement and prayer so that you may conquer these things that you have carried for so long.  I want you free from things that grip your soul.  Always pray over everything and learn to share your burdens.

Gal 6:2 NKJV

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

PARABLE:  POTATOES

Mashed potatoes.  For years when we have had family gatherings at other people’s houses, I was always the one who brought the mashed potatoes.  I always had to buy at least 2-3 more potatoes than necessary because my husband always insisted that he peel them.  He wanted every eye, every dot of brown totally off and out so the potato was pristine and white.  He was not happy to have them cut out, rather he always peeled his potatoes one or 2 layers deeper so the potato is MUCH smaller than it started.   Thus he peels 2-3 more potatoes so my pot is full by the time he is done.  :o)  Now I have handed the potato detail down to my son, and he brings mashed potatoes to family gatherings!  ahhhhhhhhhhh relief.

Potatoes have many eyes and they grow underground, hidden.  They are spiritual parables of growing in the Lord, hidden and bearing fruit.  And the eyes on the potatoes are like the anointing of the 7 eyes and 7 Spirits of God:

Rev 5:6
…stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

These 7 spirits are:

Isa 11:2
The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

PROPHESY INSPIRED BY POTATOES

SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD

There is coming a time of maturity when My elect will have grown into the full maturity of My Son Christ Jesus.  These hidden ones, have been growing, gone through the fires and passed their tests.  Their character will have developed, their obedience will be honed and they will only say and do what they see and hear from Me.  All of earth groans for the fullness of adoption of these My children.  They will carry My same anointing of the seven Spirits of God and do the greater works.

Isa 11:1-2 NKJV

There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.  The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

Eph 3:19  NKJV

To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

PARABLE:  HOT CIDER

I love to put a big crock pot of apple cider on when we have family gatherings.  I add cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and sliced oranges and sliced lemons.  It simmers all day and the house smells out of this world.  When everyone goes home, I pour what is left and put it into fridge.  It is excellent cold.  Sometimes I reheat a cup in the microwave and sip on it all morning.

The smell reminds me of Song of Solomon

Song 4:16

Awake, O north wind, And come, O south! Blow upon my garden, That its spices may flow out. Let my beloved come to his garden  And eat its pleasant fruits.

Song 5:13
His cheeks are like a bed of spices…

Song 4:10
How much better than wine is your love, And the scent of your perfumes than all spices!

HEAVENLY SPICES

Warm and inviting, so fragrant are you, My love.  Your spices permeate your whole house and I love to live with you.  Thank you for inviting Me into your life and giving Me the fullest pleasure of supping with you, whom I adore.

Rev 3:20-21 NKJV

Behold, I stand at the door and knock . If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Song 4:16

Awake, O north wind, And come, O south! Blow upon my garden, That its spices may flow out. Let my beloved come to his garden  And eat its pleasant fruits.

PARABLE:  LOOKING AT BEAUTY

I am thankful as I look around at the beauty you have given me, but I know it doesn’t compare to the beauty You have prepared for me.

PARABLE:    FORERUNNER

Well, all you Americans … here in Canada: Thanksgiving has already passed last month and for me it is time to fast!  What is the parable?

COMMENTS FROM CLASS

I think I got it!

Mark 2:18-20:
John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and they came and said to Him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”  19And Jesus said to them, “While the bridegroom is with them, the attendants of the bridegroom cannot fast, can they? So long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.   20″But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.

=======

I was thinking that {name from Canada} could represent a forerunner, having eaten before us.  And now that she has eaten her fill, she is fasting and it is our turn.  This reminded me of something I thought I remember reading 20? years ago about prophets.  Prophets are forerunners and they laugh when everyone else is crying and they cry when everyone else is laughing.  And they just are not necessarily in synch with the rest of the world, because they walk ahead and see what is ahead and they live in a different time frame as forerunners.  So the connection would be that the forerunners have eaten a feast and now they are fasting….

I was thinking of this scripture that may come to pass in the last days of tribulation.

Amos 8:11-12  NKJV

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord GOD, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD.  12 They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, But shall not find it.

I was also remembering that this year has been a tough year for spiritual cooking, just as Bob Jones said about plowing hard ground.

=======

What came to me yesterday regarding this assignment was “Thanksgiving has passed and it is time to fast.”  Well, in prayer I realized that there are 40 days left to 2009 — a perfect number for a fast.  So I have directions to fast and I have bags and bags of sunflower seed ready to be distributed.  These are the Scriptures which come to mind:

John 4:35-37

Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. 36Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. 37Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.

Matthew 9:36-38

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

PROPHESY INSPIRED BY THE FORERUNNER FAST

PLOWING, YOUR FRUIT WILL COME

Beloved, 2009 has been a stretching year for you.  You have been faithfully plowing and plowing and have not seen the fruits of your labor, but I say unto you this day, open your eyes and look at the fields for they are ripe for harvest.

Although you do not see it, I have accomplished much in and through you during this season.  I am so pleased with your faithfulness.  I say to you, my beloved, that I am the God of the breakthrough and your breakthrough is nigh.

PARABLE:  NATIONS JOIN TOGETHER FOR THE HARVEST

When my eyes were drawn to this little pilgrim boy and girl that I put out around thanksgiving time I thought about what happened when our forefathers the pilgrims landed on this foreign soil when with great courage they ventured on the mayflower and came to this land for freedom of religion. The first winter was harsh but the native American people saw them they shared with them what they had to eat and reached out in love.

Since I am part native American and part European by heritage I thought how the two nations came together in peace and gave thanks to their creator that first celebration of thanksgiving. This was in 1621 and it  has been time to reflect on what transpired on that long ago moment of time people groups reaching out to other people groups in thanksgiving to our God.

So the parable is we are on a pilgrimage and we need to reach out to other people groups in His love and truly the fields are white unto harvest and pray the Lord of the Harvest will provide workers in these fields …….

We are all pilgrims in the Kingdom of God and we are on an exciting harvest time.

John 4:34-36

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.  35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields , for they are already white for harvest!

PARABLE:    HIS KINDNESS

I loved the little, thin, tomato-shaped glasses with green-glass straws that Mother used on Thanksgiving.  As a child, I got to fill them with tomato juice.

Bob Jones’ reference to the meaning of Fruit of the Spirit.  Following is what the tomato represents:

“KINDNESS

It was the tomato. It was big like a heart. All kind of seeds in it.  Big hearted. Kindness means very generous. More than just money, it

means time. Very generous in all the ways.”

After reading this the Lord then quickened a page number in “On the Highroad of Surrender”

Here is what it says “Kindness is like a rose, which though easily crushed and fragile, yet speaks a language of silent power.  It is the same power that lies in the eyes of one who loves…”

Two scriptures quickened to me

Prov 14:31B

He who is kind and merciful to the needy honors Him.

Isaiah 54:8

With everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you.

PARABLE:   THANKFUL FOR EVERYTHING

When thanksgiving occurs different family members bring different prepared foods to the table.  We give thanks for everything on the table.  We don’t just say for example “thank God for the turkey (especially if you are vegetarian!! :)) but we thank God for everything!!

“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the

name of our Lord Jesus Christ;” Ephesians 5:20

Everyday is a day of Thanksgiving when we have found Jesus Christ.  We

can thank Him for everything!!

God Himself has prepared the table as in Psalm 23 in the presence of

our enemies and He is called us to dine with Him.  It is our grateful

hearts that will cause there to be no digestive problems.  We cannot

be both bitter and grateful at the same time.  It is the bitterness

that cause us to not be able to fully digest what we have eaten.  He

is saying to us will we give thanks for everything he has brought into

our lives.

PARABLE:  STUFFED CHICKEN BREAST

Since it’s just my husband and I this year, I thought I would have a simple Thanksgiving supper of stuffed chicken breast.

While standing there choosing a package of skinless breasts, I thought how much they resembled someone plastered against a wall with outstretch arms. When I am soaking before the Lord, I generally receive more when my body’s limbs is outstretched in a comfortable position in praise and thanksgiving for all that I am receiving.

Ps 106:47

Save us, O LORD our God, And gather us from among the Gentiles, To give thanks to Your holy name, To triumph in Your praise.

PROPHESY INSPIRED BY THE CHICKEN BREAST

HEART OPENED WIDE

When you lay before me in worship…with your heart wide open, I will open the windows of heaven and pour out unto you, filling you with all of my goodness that you are able to hold. I honor and fill him who positions himself to me.

2 Chronicles 20:17
You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.”

Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.

Malachi 3:10
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “ If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

PARABLE:    THE APPLE

An apple a day, keeps the doctor away!

The apple does not fall far from the tree!

Prov 25:11

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in frames set with silver.

S of Songs 2:5

Sustain me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am sick with love.

PROPHESY INSPIRED BY THE APPLE

My bride, my beloved one with whom I love to share my secrets, my dreams and my kingdom vision.  You have ravished my heart, with the fruit of your lovesick worship.  Oh how you enthrall Me and set Me free to do exceedingly abundantly beyond and above anything you could think my love.

Your abiding in the vine, produces this fruit of love joy and peace to My heart and it enriches our banqueting house.  The house of love in the city built with the words of love between us my sister my bride, will transform the city.  I will be Light  to your city and darkness will not understand it, but surely the Light will prevail and transform everything it touches.  Surely we are One, and you honour Me and I am glorified through your love song….I am coming soon, keep Hope as an anchor to your soul.  Wait, I say wait for me for though the vision tarries it is not far off it will come!

S of Songs 2:5

Sustain me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am sick with love.

PARABLE:  IT’S ABOUT THAT TURKEY….

Birds of a feather flock together.

Application:
Watch out who you hang with or you might end up on the table!!

Prov. 13:20
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

PROPHESY INSPIRED BY THAT TURKEY

DON’T STAY EARTH BOUND
Flock with those who love me and I will lift you up to higher places.  For I long to see you go higher but if you hang with those who are earthbound you will never soar.  So I am calling you to seek me and find the place that you will soar!

Psalm. 24:3& 4

“Who will ascend to the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place, he that has clean hands, and a pure heart ; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.”

PARABLE:  HOW BIG IS YOUR PIE CRUST?

Dream of  10/01/09:  I was baking a PIE in the dream. Though it wasn’t the American circular pie but the Hungarian rectangular pie  I had my crust already prepared. It was big. But for some reason I took a knife and cut off just a thin slice of the crust first. I had a HUGE bowl FULL OF APPLE PIE FILLING! When I tried to put anything on that tiny piece of crust it turned to be a big disaster. Nothing fit, and I just made a big mess.

So I started again and this time I cut off a bigger piece of crust which could contain a measure of the filling. But it was still nothing compared to the size of the bowl and what was left in it.

I feel the CRUST represents our TRUST. According to the Scriptures we were each given a certain MEASURE OF FAITH/TRUST. I feel the Lord is asking us to let Him show us first the size of our CRUST/MEASURE OF TRUST and if we use it ALL – not just a little slice of it- He will fill our CRUST/TRUST with all the APPLES/BLESSINGS of Heaven!

PROPHESY INSPIRED BY THE PARABLE OF THE PIE CRUST

Dear One, I will open your eyes that you could see the level of faith and trust I have brought you too. Yes, it was a hard journey as I kept kneading, stretching, burning you to make a crust that I can fill with heaven’s blessings. I say to you now, you do possess the measure of faith and trust you need for these days and it’s time for you to see it and use it. Not just little parts of if but all!

For your heavenly bowl, your heavenly cup is overflowing. You have prayed and prayed and prayed and now those bowls have reached their tipping points. You can’t even fathom the vastness of riches and blessings that I am ready to pour out into your life now. Haven’t I told you that I AM the portion of your inheritance and your cup?  So ask big! Envision big! I will give you all. Things that eye has not seen, ear has not heard, more than what you can imagine, what your mind can conceive, all that I prepared for those who love Me and obey Me. It’s time for dessert at My table!

NAS Romans 12:3

For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

NAS Revelation 5:8

And when He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

NAS Psalm 16:5

The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; Thou dost support my lot.
