Relate to God: Left and Right Brains

OUR LEFT AND RIGHT BRAINS

AND HOW WE PROCESS HOW GOD SPEAKS TO US

(What We Can Do to Know God More)

The following are words that describe the two sides of our brains and how we process information.  How we process information directly affects our ability to hear and experience God.  Some people are predominately one sided, some are partially both, and others are more equally balanced.  Our brains develop through practice in using and exercising both sides from various activities.

When I took misc brain tests on the internet (for fun), I registered equally balanced on both sides.  I believe this is the Lord’s anointing on my life and my childhood years of practicing the piano using both hands, reading music and finally experiencing the music as I matured in skill and passion. Growing up as a child, I also experienced my mother as predominately subjective and creative and my father as predominately logical and rational.  I received both sides!  In my adult years I turned to writing and typing on the computer keyboard with both hands.  As far as the brain processing goes, under the anointing, typing His Words has been a continuation of playing the piano!

Tradition speaks that men are more left brained and logical, and women are more right brained and emotional.  I tend to agree, however few of my friends fit that mold.  This is only my opinion, but after working on the below charts, I now consider that the more Christ-like we become, we grow equally balanced on both sides.  God is not only Almighty, but the many breasted One.  It has also been studied that speaking in tongues helps develop both sides of the brain.

I hope that this helps you better understand yourself and how you relate to God. The first column are the many buzz words I found related to brain studies on the internet.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lateralization_of_brain_function

The 2nd and 3rd column are what I came up with after pondering the information.  I have listed ideas that you can do to develop the other side of your brain, so that you may experience God in deeper ways.
