HE SPEAKS THROUGH WHAT WE SING

Ps 126:1-3  NKJV
When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.  Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing.  Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”  The LORD has done great things for us, And we are glad.

So much of hearing is just that: listen to what you are doing.

While finishing my first book, I started humming an old song, “Come on let’s get happy, we’re headed for the promised land.”  Then later as I was doing dishes and thinking about writing, I sang, “Come on and let’s get ready, we’re headed for the promised land!  I was tickled as I realized that was what the Lord was saying to me about the  book.

The Lord shared a funny joke through song.  The Lord had shared with a small group of people that it was time for them to “wake up” from a spiritual sleep and really swallow what He was saying.  Following this, one of them awakened in the morning singing an old song from kindergarten days.  The proper words are, “Good morning to you, good morning to you!  We’re all in our places with bright shiny faces.”  However when she sang it, the words were:  “Good morning to you, good morning to you!  We’re all in our faces, with bright shiny places!”  They laughed as that was exactly what had just taken place.

I suddenly started singing the line in the old song, “I love you, I love you, I love you. And where you go I’ll follow, I’ll follow, I’ll follow. I will follow you. Wherever you go.”

Later I was sitting in the parking lot waiting for Wayne and thinking about the word “adopted” a fellow pulled up and started whistling the identical song. It was so shocking I wondered if he was an angel, since this is a very old song and is not sung anymore that I know of. Right after that, pastor shared the scripture from Ruth.

Ruth 1:16-17
And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: 17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

God has amazing ways of telling us His Word if we listen!  Listen to what you sing.  He may give an answer to your quandaries in the very song you are singing.   Listen to the words: listen to HIM.  So much of hearing is just that: LISTEN TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
