LONGINGS: DRAWING FROM HIM

10/01/25 LONGINGS: DRAWING FROM HIM

Recently I started drinking my protein drink through a straw. This morning I was longing to hear from the Lord and praying over that. I was sucking my drink from the straw and it was quickened to me that my longings to hear Him are like that. The yearnings of my heart were drawing Him to me, but also drawing out of Him like when the healing virtue was drawn out of Jesus from the woman with the issue of blood.

Matthew 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Luke 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody has touched me: for I perceive that power has gone out of me.

I thought of the following scripture. Wow how does one suck honey out of the rock or oil out of flint?  Obviously it must be with a lot of need because that takes work! I have been in such a season of drawing from the Lord. Sometimes it is so easy to connect with Him and other times it is not. There are lessons to learn from every season in God.

Deuteronomy 32:13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

HEARD: Sweet one. Every day is an appointment. I am here with you always. It’s not about performance. Encumbrance. Cast it off. What am I asking you to do?

Well Lord right now I think it is:

  • Pray in tongues
  • Pray over what I see and hear going on
  • Share out of my abundance

And is that enough? (No Lord I need You to fill me. You are my Source. I need time drawing from You. My mind goes to sucking a drink from a straw. Sometimes the sucking is harder. Lord I also need to follow my conscience so I can abide in peace and not torment.)You shall be satisfied. Seek Me first and I shall add unto you. All that you need. (Thank You Lord.)

I remembered the times I have written about drawing from a well. Sometimes we must stir the waters (speaking on tongues) to get the waters to flow up and out. Sometimes it is a matter of faith. Am I aligned properly with the Lord – being obedient and making choices that please Him? Sometimes it is proximity. We need to draw near to Him so He can draw near to us. As I pondered these things, I turned to this Word to Ponder and understood the nature of our drawing towards Him as He draws towards us.

SONGS IN THE WILDERNESS 2/22/98

Your songs are precious to Me. I hear the longings of your heart as I woo you into My arms. One by one, I watch the passions in your life drift away as you turn your heart toward Me. Step by step, My Spirit calls to you, and you leave other loves behind.

Even so, I ask you a question. You obey Me, you serve Me, but do you love Me? Your obedience pleases Me. Your service is responsible and even your sacrifice is faithful. But do you love Me? “Of course I love you!” you reply. Even still, I ask, “Do you love Me?”

Our union is not complete until you call Me Husband, instead of Master. I want to share a love that only comes through an undivided passionate heart… a heart of yearning, a heart of unquenchable longing to be satisfied. A heart that comes back for more and more and more and more, still wanting more. I want all of you. Do you want all of Me? How much do you want? How much is too much?

For Myself, I want ALL of you. Sing Me another song and let’s dance the wind together. Listen to My Spirit call you with the wooing of My heart.

“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. 15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hopeand she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. 16 And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call Me Ishi <My Husband>; and shalt call Me no more Baali <My Master>. 17 For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. 19 And I will betroth thee unto Me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. 20 I will even betroth thee unto Me in faithfulnessand thou shalt know the LORD. “ (Ho2:14-17,19-20)
