Smelling (Nose)

Opened Taste and Smell

HE SPEAKS THROUGH OPENING
OUR LITERAL TASTE

The scripture says, “Taste and see the Lord is good.” (Psalm 34:8 KJ)

Ezekiel ate God’s Word, the roll.  “So I opened my mouth and he caused me to eat that roll…Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.” (Ezekiel 3:2-3 KJ)

One time as I was hearing the Lord, He opened my taste buds and I literally tasted and smelled lemonade.  I could taste both the sweet and the tart as He spoke to me,  “Yes precious one. Bitter and sweet. The world upheaval. My proximity. Mother bear and her cubs. Tender. My own. Close to Me. Adopted.”

I understood He was saying that these are the best and worst of times.  Our best times is when we are intimately close to Him like a Mother bear with her cubs. He is so tender.  A mother bear has a fierce side too, and will strongly defend her cubs from danger.  That can mean bitter times for those who are connected with the world.

HE SPEAKS THROUGH OPENING
OUR LITERAL SMELL

Our sense of taste is literally connected with our sense of smell.  If you have ever had a cold and couldn’t taste your food, that is why.  So often when the Lord opens our sense of taste, He also opens the sense of smell at the same time.  I have tasted and smelled fresh hot bread a few times as I have shared His rhema Words with others and pondered His Words.  It is a true joy when He breaks into our natural realm and opens our spiritual senses.

I know of several who have had their sense of smell opened.  They have smelled sweet smelling perfume or flower blossoms while in worship or prayer.  I smelled bread baking in an oven when the Lord told me it was the fullness of time for His manna to come forth.

Anna was asleep and was awakened by a wonderful aroma.  When it quickly left, she was so disappointed that she asked the Lord if she could smell it again.   Ever so gently, as though wafted on a gentle breeze, she smelled it again.  This happened many times.  Each time she tried to analyze what she was smelling.  At first the primary smell seemed to be spicy like carnations, but then again she would smell a rose or a lily, or gardenia.  It seemed as though it was the culmination of walking through a fragrant garden.

She did a word search on spice and found the scripture, “His cheeks [are] as a bed of spices, [as] sweet flowers: his lips [like] lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.”  (Song of Solomon 5:13 KJ)  She had forgotten this was the description of His face!  She realized He had His face next to hers!!

While attending a conference in a tent, the Lord came and filled the entire tent with the smell of roses.  It was so special and most in the room smelled them.  When I left, I asked Him if His smell would come with me.  As we left to drive home I smelled it going to the back of the tent, and also outside the tent. I felt it was a sign and confirmation that I had received a special touch of His Presence and that it would go home with me, and I would not leave His Presence behind.

When I got home, I was in deep grieving over some news I received. As I went into my bedroom to lay upon my bed and pray, as I entered the room, it was filled with the identical strong and fragrant roses. This occurred a second time later in the day in my bedroom. I was so deeply touched by this and needed it badly.   Since that time, through out the years I have occasionally smelled roses when He is near and wants me to know that.

Song 2:1 NKJV

I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

Isa 35:1-2 NKJV

The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;  It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing.

The Lord also opens the literal senses as part of the gift of discernment to smell the demonic realm in areas of deliverance.  Click here for Bob Jones list on Opened Smell Aromas List.  I have also smelled sulphur and smoke during a warfare battle with the enemy.  Both Wayne and I have had our sense of smell opened enough to kick demons out during seasons of intense battle.

Job 39:25 NKJV

At the blast of the trumpet he says, ‘Aha!’ He smells the battle from afar, the thunder of captains and shouting.
